Chapter 163 Sinthea’s Curse

Presently, it was ten o’clock in the morning.

Natasha had already left for her work and Leo dragged the unconscious Sinthea and Bucky to the basement, placing them next to the unfinished Arc Reactor.

Leo was a hardworking individual. He made use of his spare time to work on the Arc Reactor. But even with the noisy atmosphere, Bucky and Sinthea showed no sign of waking up. One had to admit that Leo’s electrotherapy was indeed… merciless!

It was only in mid-noon that Bucky, who received less treatment, finally woke up. As the chip controlling terminal was destroyed and coupled with Leo giving him a new signal disruptor, the one who woke up wasn’t the cold-blooded and emotionless Winter Soldier. Instead, it was El Tech Company’s Chief of Security, Bucky Barnes.

When Bucky woke up, he rubbed his brain before sensing vivid pain in his wrists as though they were being tied by something for quite some time. It was extremely uncomfortable. That was due to Leo’s spider web, but the webs dissolved by themselves after three hours. He automatically sat up and saw Leo with the frantically waving tentacles squatting on the iron frame.

Leo, too, noticed Bucky and thus stopped the work in his hand. After hopping down, he casually tossed a bottle of water to Bucky.

Bucky was parched as well and instantly gulped down the whole bottle of water. Finally, he sobered up a little before immediately recalling him being controlled by Sinthea.

“Leo, I bumped into Sinthea on Mingde Street. She…” Bucky frowned. “I think she controlled me!”

Bucky’s memory of when he was being controlled was rather fuzzy and even showed signs of confusion. Leo smiled and pointed behind Bucky, “Look what’s behind you.”

Seeing Sinthea’s unforgettable face, Bucky immediately jolted up and immediately put on a guarding posture. But when he finally saw Sinthea’s body was wrapped by the white webs, charred face, and unconscious, he heaved out a sigh of relief.

“Relax!” Leo chided jokingly. “Sinthea has been subdued by me. She won’t be waking up anytime soon. Don’t worry about her.”

Bucky grinned at Leo before approaching SInthea and sizing her up. All of a sudden, he ruthlessly slapped Sinthea and cursed, “Ptooey! B*tch!”

No one expected this slap would wake Sinthea up. Abruptly opening her eyes, she saw Bucky and Leo. The next moment, her eyes began shining as her hair fluttered, attempting to control Bucky under her immobilized circumstances to save herself.

With Bucky’s mental strength, he couldn’t withstand it as his eyes instantly went listless and fell into a daze. Witnessing this situation, Leo dashed over and viciously gifted Sinthea a tight slap, causing her seeing stars.

Receiving this brutal slap, Sinthea’s mind control ability naturally failed to take effect.

Thus, Bucky was infuriated when he woke up. He charged at Sinthea and thrashed her until she uncontrollably vomited blood out. Leo also didn’t stop Bucky, allowing him to continue beating Sinthea. Bucky frantically vented out the aggression and grievances he suffered over the years. Regardless of how tough Sinthea was, she was still beaten into pulps in the end.

Seeing Sinthea was going to die if this kept on, Leo hurriedly stopped Bucky and said, “Hold on for now. Try interrogating her and ask her where the rest of H.Y.D.R.A. is hiding, especially Dr. Zola.”

Bucky nodded and began his interrogation against Sinthea. Leo took a glance and saw Sinthea’s current state when being interrogated was much more gruesome than when she was beaten just now. He swiftly covered his face while peeking through the gaps between his fingers.

Even after interrogating for half an hour, Sinthea remained silent. But she was glaring at Leo, making him have goosebumps.

He couldn’t resist grumbling inwardly, ‘Bucky is the one who tortures and interrogates you. Why are you staring at me instead of cursing at Bucky?’

Interrogating was truly tiring. In addition with Bucky expending quite a substantial amount of energy, he was exhausted at the moment. He panted, “Leo, this b*tch is not speaking. What now?”

“Kill her then!” Leo said indifferently, “She suffered enough beating just now, this time give her a quick death.”

Bucky nodded and raised his metal fist. Suddenly, the silent Sinthea suddenly shrieked, “Leo Erwin! In the name of Hydra God! I curse y-…”

However, Bucky’s metal fist already hammered onto Sinthea’s face, stuffing her words right back.

Leo took a few steps toward the laboratory’s direction to avoid being splattered by the blood. As for Sinthea’s curse, he disregarded it. But just as he took a couple of steps, several system notifications appeared out of the blue, causing his feet to pause momentarily.

He furrowed his brows right away and stared at the dead Sinthea. On top of Sinthea’s corpse, he felt as though he saw a resentful soul, viciously glaring at him.

Yet a moment later, this feeling vanished. Perhaps Sinthea’s soul had dissipated in the world. But the 【Curse of Hydra God】 still retained and was glowing in the system panel, which proved that the momentary flash of resentment wasn’t his imagination.

Bucky suddenly asked, “How about this b*tch’s body?”

Due to the curse, Leo was slightly distracted. He casually waved, “I have my way. Just tidy up a bit for me and then you can leave.”

Bucky nodded, “Done. I’m going to have lunch. Leo, are you hungry? Wanna go together?”

Startled by Bucky’s questions, Leo couldn’t care less about the curse and frowned in disgust, “Bucky, why are you talking about food at this time? How disgusting…”

“Hahaha! This is nothing! Back on the battlefield, there were bodies all over the trenches. Which soldier wasn’t enjoying their dry jerkies?!”

“What a strong stomach!” Leo gave Bucky a thumb-up.

Bucky chuckled, “There was no strong or weak stomach back then, only whether or not able to have a meal or not.”

But no matter what Bucky said, it was impossible for Leo to eat with Bucky at the moment, “Go and eat yourself, I’ve still got something to do!”

Bucky didn’t force it and took his leave.

After racking his brain for a bit about the curse, Leo realized the curse was only in the system panel. It didn’t itch or pain or not, just irritating to the eyes. So, he immediately closed the system panel away. If he couldn’t see it, then it didn’t exist.

He felt he could make some time to visit Dr. Octavius at Kamar-Taj when everything was settled. That group of mystery sorcerers might be able to cure the curse on him!

While pondering, he trudged to his lab before pulling out his phone. Then, he called Fury. Now that Bucky was awake and Sinthea was dead, it was time to meet up with Fury for the next phase of the plan.
