The Legend Of Dragon Land

Chapter 22 - End Of The Course

Let's talk about the dream barbecue party of Class K after the second month of the military course (Chapter 14).

As promised to the Class K members, Angus came to ask Eugene that whether they could prepare a barbecue party to celebrate their rankings. At that time, Eugene replied: "Not right now. But the end of the course is okay."

The confirmation from Eugene gave Class K a huge hope, making them continuously look forward to the end of course.

Yeah they would have a barbecue!

It had been so long since the last time they had a barbecue outside!!

Well, from now on, they should try more to maintain and enhance the good results into another level, so that all would have a super big party at the end of the course!!! – The whole of Class K had agreed with each other like that.

Now talking about Class I.

After watching the videos extracted from camera system, some students of Class I changed their attitute from hate to admire Class K. There were also some still maintained the attitude of jealous. But in the end, they all encouraged themselves to try to study.

It was obvious that the teachers had not helped Class K that much!

That's all their own effort!!

If Class K could do it, we could also do it!!!

Well, those were exactly what Class I tried to encourage themselves.

However...

After continuous words of self-encouragement like that, what Class I saw was all the students of Class K suddenly became so crazily studious, looked like they were injected with some kind of 'doping'!!! ➡ They not only got impressive ranks for the physical categories, but also won all of the matches of team competition.

Class I was completely speechless: "..."

Could you guys leave us a way to live? Could you???

But then, even though being lost in a row, Class I didn't give up.

It was not because their spirit were such that strong, but because they were strongly influenced by the spirit of Class K. Therefore, in an unconscious way, all of Class I became more and more serious with their training.

At the end of the month, when the National Rankings was released, Class I was surprised to find out that: Although their rankings did not surpass Class K's on the Base Rank, there was a significant improvement on the National Rankings. Which meant, they could not defeat Class K of Base Five, but they were still able to defeat other students in other bases!

As a Class Leader, Hawley quickly took this point to encourage and motivate Class I, then the whole class agreed with each other that to set goal of "national rank" to strive, rather than keeping struggling with Class K. As a result, the atmosphere of Base Five became more and more friendly.

After the long waiting days, the Military Course finally ended with a particularly good result for all members of Class K. All of them then happily gathered and discussed about the plan for their dream barbecue party, until halfway through, they remembered something important: Money.

None of them brought money along when entering the course, as the course rule only allowed them to bring the most essential stuffs.

So now, how to buy meat?

After thinking for some seconds, Neil suggested: "You guys think... can we borrow some money from our teacher? Then after the course I'll ask my father to transfer the money to them." He was good at all these financial and logistic-related matters!

Hudson nodded, "Good idea. I'll also ask my father to contribute a part."

Edelina said: "Not only you two! All the class will contribute!"

The other members immediately agreed with Edelina's words.

Neil frowned: "So each family will transfer a small part to the teachers? So confusing! This meal is not that expensive! Let me treat you guys this time. Later you guys can treat me back at the capital."

This was one of few times that Neil was so assertive, thus the other members had no other option but agreed with his suggestion.

Afterwards, the whole class went to see Angus, earnestly asked him to talk to Teacher Eugene and the other three assistants to lend the class some money.

But the result was –

"No need," said Angus, "I've already talked to the teachers, they said they will treat us this party, as a prize for our good performance in the course. They already ordered meat from the nearest supermarket. At two pm assistant Ralph will drive there to take the meat for us."

Immediately all members of Class K looked at Angus with a "worshiping" expression.

Undoubtedly, one more time, Angus' image was leveled up in the mind of Class K.

The training base's location was not public, so almost every weeks, the base would send truckers out to buy the food and grocery needed for a week.

This barbecue party of Class K was not part of the base's policies and plans, so Class K was also worried about the meat purchasing process. Unexpectedly, Leader handled everything with just one move!

Leader was so fast and furious!!!

The problem of meat was finally solved, Parker excitedly turned to Nissyen: "Hey, let's go to the canteen to borrow some cooking utensils and spices!"

Angus stopped the two, "I already talk to the canteen as well. The cooks had prepared everything for us. They say Nissyen can come and get those any time."

Class K: "..."

Leader, was there anything else for us to do?

Speaking of which, the cooks in the canteen really liked Nissyen.

Nissyen came from a remote area of Pacific.

His father was a very talented chef. If their family was in the city, their life might have been a little better.

But unfortunately, they were originally in a remote area.

The population density was sparse, consumption was low, public works such as roads and transportation had not been invested much, all of those made every household's business in remote areas face difficulties.

Not that Nissyen's father had never thought about finding a cooking job in a town or city, but because Nissyen's mother was sick and needed someone stay close to take care her everyday. In addition to that, their family could not afford the high cost of living in the urban, so what they could do was struggling day by day in their hometown.

After entering Fifth Base, Nissyen set the target of entering the Military Academy after the First year ended.

But unlike the other students who embraced the dream of glorifying their family with military achievements, Nissyen wanted to enter the Military Academy was simply because... his family had no money.

Among his peers, Nissyen was kind of teen dragon boy who was very practical and thoughtful, with the power at average level.

Of the four Pacific tuition-free academies, the Military Technical Academy and the Medical Academy had special requirements and they would choose students by themselves. The Political Academy required high intellect and good diplomacy, only the Military Academy was relatively suitable for Nissyen (See Chapter 1 again for the academy system).

As a practical young dragon, Nissyen already had a long-term plan for his future.

After graduating from the Military Academy, he would serve the Army for a hundred years, both to fulfill his responsibilities to the nation and to have money to take care of his parents. Then after retiring from the Army, he would take a second degree at the Culinary faculty of the General Academy, then open a small restaurant.

Nissyen inherited his talent and his cooking hobby from his father.

It had been a long while since the first and last time Class K had to do cooking and dish washing (as a penalty of being lost the third match of team competition). From then till now, it was always Class I who did those tasks. However, Nissyen still came to the canteen kitchen to work as a cook assistant for several times, making the cooks there gradually like him and teach him a lot of cooking tips.

Later on, the head chef knew about Nissyen's background, then intended to help Nissyen get a scholarship from the Culinary faculty of General Academy.

If it had been the beginning of the course, Nissyen would have been crazily happy. But after a long time with Class K, Nissyen became hesitant...

Back to the discussion of Class K.

Rinne looked at Angus hesitantly: "Leader, I have some friends in Class I. They, they want to join the party, is it okay? I guarantee that they won't make a mess!"

"Okay." Angus agreed comfortably. He thought for a few seconds and then told Hudson: "Later you and Neil go talk to Hawley, tell him that anyone of Class I wanna join, just come freely."

Then he looked around everyone: "Anything else need my help?"

Class K: "..."

Every time Leader asking this question brought a feeling of 'savage'!

***

Hudson and Iris came to talk to Hawley. With a bit surprised, Hawley quickly agreed, and also added that Class I would contribute a part.

Before Hudson left, Hawley looked at him, hesitantly asking: "Angus... Will he join?"

Seemingly understanding something from Hawley's question, Hudson smiled: "Sure! Why not? He prepared such everything!"

Hawley quickly went to meet Fred and the teaching assistant group of Class I. He learned the original solution of Class K, which was to borrow some money from the teachers to order meat, then after that he would ask his parents to pay back.

After all, he could not ask the teachers to "treat" Class I as the teachers of Class K. Class K was treated for the party because of their good performance. Although Class I led by him also had some progress, Hawley knew clearly that they could not be compared to Class K.

Standing opposite Hawley, Fred laughed, then he said in a relaxed voice: "I heard about this before you came. I've ordered meat from the supermarket for you guys to join Class K. We cannot lose to Class K in terms of eating and drinking, right???"

Hawley did not think that Fred already arranged everything for Class I. He quickly bowed his head before Fred, said happily: "On behalf of our class, thank you teachers."

After Hawley left the teacher room, Fred looked at his assistant, Gerardo, who was standing nearby, letting out a stream of words: "You, call the supermarket, say that you are Ralph's co-worker. Then ask the supermarket to prepare an order exactly the same as Ralph's. Tell them to try get ready before two pm, then you and Ralph and drive there to take everything back."

Three teaching assistants Gerardo, Leana, Fenwich: "..."

So, Bro Fred, just now you pretended to be cool before Hawley huh?

Fred not only ignored the expressions of his teaching assistants but also raised his voice: "Look at me for what? Make the call!"

He was not a saint to be able to foresee everything!

After hearing Eugene talked about the barbecue party, he was planning to find Class I to ask whether they wanted to join Class K or they wanted to organize their own. However, the Leader of Class K was so fast to invite Class I to join before Fred could reach Hawley.

Sigh! This Class Leader of Class K was so different with the young Eugene before...

That evening, with the full preparation of the teacher group and the 'marinating meat talent' of Nissyen, the entire Base Five did have an unforgettable barbecue party in student life.

This was also the only end-of-course party to be held among five training bases across the country...
