The Lazy Villainess

Jin Qingye was expecting Song Laing to be at the Dragon Festival, since Xie'er said that she would be there. He instead got introduced to an extremely attractive man, who according to Miss Shie, was Laing's friend.

Laing trusted this man enough to let him accompany her friends? And this man was also very handsome. Jin Qingye felt very his c.h.e.s.t clench up. Why? Did Lai'er like very handsome men? Was he not handsome enough?

He didn't have much time to think about it however, as a very drunk fifth prince came to claim Lady Biyu who was in the arms of Fa Mulan. Lai'er liked a man who already had a woman? What if she doesn't know he had a woman? She won't like him if she knew he had a woman…he thought, smiling.

The fifth prince goes to attack Fa Mulan, but he blocks Tian Chang's path, and tries to restrain him. If Lai'ers friends tell Lai'er of his heroic deeds, surely Lai'er would like him, right?

Even in his drunk state, Tian Chang was extremely strong, and almost broke through Qingye's grip. Just as everything was about to get out of hand, Jin Qingye heard the smooth voice of Tian Mo.

"Brother!" shouts the crown prince, just in time to stop Tian Chang from throwing a punch at Qingye's face. One of the guards pulls Chang back as he continues to struggle and punch.

"Biyu!" he shouts, "You belong to me!"

Lady Biyu whimpers in fear and buries her face deeper into Fa Mulan's c.h.e.s.t. The crown prince only rubs his forehead and orders the guards to take the fifth prince back to the palace before he does any more outrageous things.

Qingye sighs in relief and turns to the crown prince and bows. "Your Highness, Crown Prince!" he says, "I thought your highness was at the Emperor's feast…"

"Ah, I only came to enjoy the fireworks…"

I watch as the fifth prince is dragged away and let out a sigh of relief. I look down and am startled, I forgot that I was literally hugging Lady Biyu to my c.h.e.s.t. I light push her away, and turn around to check on my friends.

"Are you guys alright?" I say, smiling,

They just shake their head at me and Shie says in a low voice, "Wait until we get home…We have questions…"

I turn back around with a cheeky smile to face the now blushing Biyu.

Okay, but for real, I really need to break it off with her. "Lady Biyu, it has been a p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e, but I do not think I can persue a relationship with you…" I say seriously.

Her smiling expression turns angry and she looks me straight in the eye, "Sir Mulan, Is it because of her?" she asks, nodding at Roqing.

Hold up. Girl, you can't be speaking to my bestie like that. I also give her an angry look, and look at Roqing to make sure she is okay. The crown prince is here and I can't be claiming Roqing as my girlfriend or anything, I might provoke his wrath.

'Yes, Lady Biyu. Roqing is my dearest friend, and Shie is my girlfriend…I am sorry, but I really can't…'

Shie gives me a dirty look, but still keeps her smile as Lady Biyu's look of contempt is now aimed at her. Yandres are very scary, I don't think I'll be dressing as a man anytime soon after this.

She stamps her foot and says angrily, "You watch Sir Mulan, one day you will see that I am worth more than the other girls!" before walking off into the distance.

As soon as we can see that she has truly left, the four of us sigh in relief. The crown prince and Jin Qingye walk over to us, and the crown prince immediately looks at Shie, Sui and Roqing.

"Did Song Laing not come with you?" he asks, looking around.

Sui immediately gives me a side glance. "Did you mess with the crown prince too?" she whispers to me. I can only shake my head, I don't know what I have done.

"No your highness," Shie says, looking down, "She is not feeling well and didn't come."

"Oh okay," he says to no one in particular, "I thought Xie'er mentioned she would come…"

Was it me or did I just see Jin Qingye frowning at the crown prince? I however notice that all the people were gathering at the edge of the harbour. It is almost time for the fireworks, so I excitedly turn to my friends.

'We should go and wait along the harbour,' I say, 'The view will be the best from there…'

"Good idea," says Qingye, cutting into the conversation, "We should go wait…"

I look at Jin Qingye and he is looking at me with a hostile look on his face. I am taken aback, but I am a man right now, and he might've seen me as a threat or something.

I smile lightly, and drag my friends happily to the harbour.

"Slow down!"

"You are acting like you've never seen fireworks before…"

Kewang watched the group's interactions from behind a tree a few metres away. She couldn't hear what they were saying, but she could see clearly what was happening.

She watched as the drunk fifth prince got taken away, and carefully observed as the Crown Prince approached the group of girls. He briefly spoke with the girls, but she noticed how much attention he gave them.

Unlike how he treated her, he treated them with great respect. This didn't bide well with Kewang. How dare the crown prince look at a woman other than her? She clenched her teeth.

"What is that girl's name?"

"Which one mistress?"

"The one crown prince is talking to"

"I believe her name is Song Shie..."

"Investigate everything about her, I need all the information"

"Yes mistress…"

The workers got the fireworks ready, we sat on a blanket which we had spread on the grass. We had to share it with the crown prince and Qingye as they didn't bring their own.

Finally, the crowd started counting down to midnight. We joined in; me, Shie, Sui and Roqing shouting at the top of our voices.

"5…4…3…2…1"

BOOM!

One by one, the fireworks whizzed up into the night sky and exploded in bursts of colour. They were loud, very loud, but who cares. I was almost crying with happiness. I managed to survive two years here, in this once unfamiliar world.

After the fireworks, bundles of firecrackers were handed out and seeing them burn and pop made me extremely happy.

I look over to see what Qingye was doing, and I see him admiring the firecrackers. I smile, he looks so cute, I cannot help it. I hope that innocent smile never gets wiped off his face.
