The Knowledge I Live With

I had a brief talk with Lady Rowetta. She was as elegant as a noble would be. She asked me questions about my life. Things like how I learnt math and how my home life was. Now this might seem weird and it was, but it isn't unheard of for nobles to be interested in commoner children, especially if those children show signs of being geniuses. There are three reasons for this.

First one is, because they are looking for staff and smart kids can be trained to be good servants. This is not the case for Lady Rowetta, because of how rich the Rowetta house is. Some of their servants were assigned to them by the king!

Second reason would be so that the nobles could "Adopt" these children. Usually it wasn't an adoption. It was either a forceful way of taking the child from their parents or buyng the child. This seems more like what Lady Rowetta would be doing. Of course didn't want this to happen. That is why I made her understand that I was unqualified to be a noble. "How?" You ask. It was with the way i spoke. The children of noble wouldn't even dream of using words like "Mommy" or "Daddy" or "Wanna". If a child of a noble would use these words, it would just make them look like an idiot and humiliate their family. It doesn't even matter if the child is an infant, they have to speak politely. I, on the other hand, am used to using there words and I made sure that Lady Rowetta would understand that.

The third reason nobles would be interested in commoner children is to make them "playmates" for their own children. Usually these "playmates" are there just to take the blame for any kind of wrong doings the noble children would do or to be bullied and laughed at by the nobles, but sometimes these children get the rare chance to receive education and (If the noble gets really interested in them) They might even be invited to tea parties or other high class gatherings. This was what wanted to do. This would help my family financially, because the nobles would give a little allowance for taking the time of a commoner child. Children are important, because they are needed to help their parents at work so by giving them an allowance the nobles are giving commoners the money they are losing. Even if I was young and a girl I knew that someday I have to help my parents so we can keep living a good life. If I get to be a playmate for the Rowetta house I would for sure get a big allowance that would help our family. All I want is that these peace full days with mother and father would never end.

Now it has been about a week since I met Lady Rowetta. We haven't seen each other sense, but I know that I'll meet her sooner or later. That's why I'm waiting. I'm waiting so I can see her again. I don't think that she'll come to the market or find out where I live, but there is a possibility that I'll meet her when we're taking father to work. I is a small possibility, but still big enough for me. I'll just have to hope that she was impressed by me.
