The Imposter Princess

Chapter 9 - Pride

Yin XinYi walked up to the receptionist. The receptionist looked up at Yin XinYi from her computer. Putting a smile upon her face, the receptionist asked, "Hello, welcome to Swine Bank. How may I help you?"

"Hello. I'll like to receive my credit and debit card," Yin XinYi replied.

"Of course ma'am. Please take a number and wait in the lounge. Someone will be with you shortly," she replied.

Thanking her, Yin XinYi took a number. Then, Yin XinYi walked in the direction of the lounge and sat down.

In Swine bank, she had two accounts. One was connected to Yin Hai and one is her own, secret one. One of the reasons why Swine bank was used by the upper class was due to its privacy and security. No one, except the bankers, would know anything unless the owner allowed the information to be released. If any employees released information, they could receive criminal charges and would be blacklisted from the entire banking industry.

As part of their privacy policy, anyone who came in the bank would be sent to a private booth so no one could eavesdrop.

Soon, her number was called. She was guided by an attendant into a booth. The attendant left and closed the door, soundproofing it.

The receptionist in the booth looked at Yin XinYi with a smile upon her face. "Hello ma'am, how may I help you?"

"Hello. I wish to receive my credit and debit cards for my account," XinYi replied.

One of the reasons why Swine bank was rated as the best bank in the world was that they could receive their physical copy of their credit and debit cards the same day they requested it. No other banks had this feature.

"Of course! Do you know your account number?"

Yin XinYi told the assistant the account number for her own personal account, not the one Yin Hai created.

The assistant typed in the number. She informed YinXinYi about her choices, "Ma'am, you have different colors to choose from for your card. You have bronze, silver, gold and…" She paused in shock for a moment but quickly regained her composure. "Black. You can choose any of those colors."

Also part of the privacy policy of the bank, members could the color of the tier that they were on or any color below them for their card. For example, if one had a gold account, they could choose gold, silver, or bronze for their card color, however, they can not choose black as it was a tier above them. It was a method for owners to remain incognito or low key.

As for the reason why Yin XinYi's account has the highest tier, it was due to a recommendation from one of her closest friends who also owned a black tiered account.

"My credit card will be black. My debit card shall be silver." Yin XinYi had no wish to stand out too much. She decided on a silver debit card for regular use and a black credit card just in case she gets ridiculed of her wealth by others.

Her previous card when she was in the Yin family was silver, therefore, she assumed that it was a perfect middle.

"Ma'am, your both cards will be ready in two hours. It will take an hour for each card. You are welcome to sit and wait in the lounge for your card or you can pick them up at a later time. Will that be all ma'am?"

"Thank you. I'll also like to change my currency to Country 1's currency." Yin XinYi grabbed the few hundred dollars she had in Country 86's currency and gave it to the lady.

The assistant grabbed the money and put it through a money counter. "Excuse me, I'll be right back with your money." She got up and took the money with her. In a short while, she returned with a stack of money. "Here you go! Will that be all today?"

"Yes. Thank you," Yin XinYi took the money and put in back in her wallet.

"It was a p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e. Thank you for coming to Swine Bank!" the assistant replied.

Yin XinYi nodded. She got up and left the booth, walking out of the bank.

After walking out, Yin XinYi realized how hungry she was. She hadn't had food since early morning and it was only a simple granola bar.

Now, it was already afternoon and the city was full of life. Although Yin XinYi was raised up with luxury, when she was younger, she had gotten a taste of simple street food. Now that she was out of the media's eyes and the Yin family's control, she could sample all the street food she wanted. However, Yin XinYi looked at her clothing. Although it was simple, anyone could tell that the clothes were high end.

Yin XinYi sighed. She knew that she would be very eye catching if she went to buy street food. She could only resort to returning to the hotel and ordering food there.

Back at the hotel, Yin XinYi ordered a simple meal of pasta with a salad. Room service had it brought up to her. Munching on the savory pasta, and the salad that contrasted it, she felt content. Very soon, she finished her meal and had room service take it away.

She decided that the ten million that her ex-father, Yin Hai gave her would be used to pay for hotel expenses. The leftover money from the ten million and the amount in her Swine bank account created by Yin Hai would be donated to charity.

Although she loved money, Yin XinYi hated the idea of continuing to depend on the Yin family by using their money. She had her pride after all. Yin XinYi could easily get by without depending on them.

All the clothes would be donated, the jewelry and electronics pawned off and the money would be donated to charities. The only thing left of the Yin family would be her surname, memories, and her doc.u.ments. Yin XinYi decided to keep her surname as a reminder both to her and the Yin family in the future. It would remind the Yin family of when they abandoned her at her lowest in the future when they see her again.

The surname would also remind her of their abandonment and her determination to prove them all wrong. That, she, Yin XinYi, was fine without the Yin family and that she was innocent all along.
