The Imposter Princess

Chapter 15 - A Respectable Career

When in a dilemma, take a step back and analyze the situation.

Yin XinYi had walked off with the dress. The brunette, Ana, would have not been pleased. Two possibilities could happen: Ana will hunt XinYi down for the dress or Ana will get another dress.

In either situations, Ana Williams will harbor a grudge against Yin XinYi. The ideal outcome would be that Ana would get another dress. However, it would be unbecoming of Yin XinYi to not prepare for the worst: Ana finding Yin XinYi for the dress.

Before coming up with a plan to counter any circ.u.mstances that may occur, Yin XinYi must have data. Luckily, the shopping expedition had achieved everything XinYi need.

Yin XinYi had new clothes and information on a large range of people due to the unethical practice of eavesdropping. Grabbing a piece of paper, she jotted down the names she had remembered. On the top of her list were Lyra Owens and Ana Williams.

Yin XinYi opened up her computer and started to search up names. Luckily, their last names were extremely famous. Their companies were in financial news frequently. The Owens owned a series of hotels throughout the nation while the Williams opened casinos and restaurants.

How strange. The Owens and Williams tend to collaborate to monopolize profits and yet, the daughters of the families don't seem to get along so well.

Yin XinYi knew that the information she had gotten was only the tip of the iceberg. She needed to interact with them in order to understand their thoughts and relationsh.i.p.s.

Yin XinYi continued to go down her list of names, finding information about each. She memorized name to face and the companies they owned.

After she finished, Yin XinYi went to the next task she had to tackle: getting a ticket to the art showing.

The art showing was a famous showing. Many upcoming and famous artists would showcase their art. Then, later in the show, many of the art pieces would be auctioned off. It was both a place to gather recognition and to earn money for artists.

Yin XinYi went on the website for the showing to find out the date and location. There was a place to buy tickets on the website but it was covered with a bold red sign that declared the showing to be sold out.

Yin XinYi wasn't bothered by that fact. Naturally, many people bought tickets in advance. After all, many famous artists were going to be there.

Of course, she had a few different methods of getting tickets. Yin XinYi could buy the tickets at an auction. Some people bought tickets for the sole reason of selling it off to the highest bidder. There were no rules from the art showing restricting it, however, there were rules on how many tickets one can buy.

XinYi hated using that method. It always cost her lots of money. Thankfully, she had an acquaintance who was an artist in the showing. Some of the more well known artists could request for an extra ticket. The committee who organizes the event always have spare tickets in case of such situations.

Yin XinYi switched to her email and typed in a message to her acquaintance requesting for a ticket.

Yin XinYi had met the artist in Country 49 a few years back. Back then, her acquaintance as only a simple street artist.

Yin XinYi was cruising down the streets of the capital city when she noticed a young woman in her early twenties painting the scenery.

Yin XinYi had came up to the young woman and complimented her skill. Shockingly, the young woman teared up hearing such words.

Uncomfortable with the tears, Yin XinYi awkwardly tried to comfort her. XinYi never expected such a thing to happen from a single compliment.

It warmed the young woman's heart causing the young woman to spill her life story between her sobs.

Apparently, she had come from a rather well-off family of doctors, lawyers and business owners. The young woman wanted to pursue a career in art but her family didn't support her. Her family wished her to become what they deemed a respectable position in society as a person of law, economics, or science.

Naturally, the young woman rejected in becoming the ideal daughter of her family and left home to pursue her dreams.

After the woman stopped crying, Yin XinYi offered her an opportunity. She offered the young woman a chance to change her circ.u.mstances. Yin XinYi offered the woman a platform to showcase her art. She would sponsor the young woman but for only a year. Ten percent of all profits sold during that year would be XinYi's. If she is profitable, then Yin XinYi would continue to invest.

Hearing that, the young woman was in disbelief.

"Why?" She asked.

"Because I like your art. I believe you have the skills needed, " replied XinYi.

The young woman started to cry again, thanking Yin XinYi. That was how Yin XinYi met the young artist.

In the end, the young artist shot to fame. That year, in country 49, Yin XinYi made a lot of investments. Many of businesses she invested in became the upcoming stars in their fields. Some did not but were still profitable.

Yin XinYi is not a saint. She never was and never will be. She didn't help the young woman out of the kindness of her heart, but rather due to Yin XinYi's belief that she would become profitable.

However, Yin XinYi is not a cutthroat woman either. She has morals and a bottom line that she would never cross.

Yin XinYi sent the email. While waiting for a reply, XinYi looked through her inbox and answered emails from her other contacts. Her email was one of the safest communication methods Yin XinYi had. It was encrypted by her dear friend who was an undisputed genius in coding.

Yin XinYi finished catching up on her emails and once again ordered her dinner from the hotel.

While Yin XinYi was eating her meal, her computer notified her of an email. Yin XinYi went and checked her inbox. It was the long-awaited reply.

As Yin XinYi read it, her lips curved up. It was a very satisfactory response. At the end of the email was an attachment file. Yin XinYi checked that the file was uncorrupted before giving a reply back.

Yin XinYi closed her computer and resumed her meal.
