The Heiress

Chapter 51 - THE DEPARTURE

"I'm Nathan Sparks"

glancing down at the hand that was extended to her, she shook it and nodded then went back to looking at the doc.u.ments she needed for work. It was going to be a busy year.

The man beside her was ignored and it irked him. He always had a charm that would make women fawn over him and was famous not just for his looks but his family background as well. But this...this woman who seem just younger than him, didn't even bother introducing herself! Aahh!! Not even asking for an autograph as well!

'maybe she's faking it...?'

'hmmm of course she did, I mean, who wouldn't even know the great me?'

He was awfully sure that she was faking it so he tried to talk to her again. But she didn't seem to listen so he waved his hands in front of her to get her attention

"I don't mind" he smiled at her

"hmm?" Hui Yin didn't know what the problem was with this man. She was trying to peacefully read and plan her agendas once she started working but the person right beside her kept talking to himself...'does he need a phsychologist...?'

"I don't mind signing an autograph"

"eh?"

'was she really not faking it..?' Nathan was now having doubts. But of course, how would he have known? Wherever he went, there would always be a bunch of fans lining up to get his autograph that it made him feel so full of himself.

"you know...an a.u.t.o.g.r.a.p.h."

"Nathan Sparks was it?"she smiled

"yes, how can I help you?" 'ahhhh finally, she knows me' (the idiot seemed to have forgotten that he introduced himself earlier)

"please shut your mouth Mr. Sparks, flies might get in"

"..."

Hui Yin completely directed her attention back to reading her files, not minding whether she offended him or not. It was his fault for being rude anyway.

The ride became silent, both no longer conversed on the way to Country D

....

"excuse me!" Nathan huffed out. Once the plane landed, he wanted to apologize and take her out for coffee but who knew that she walked so fast, though elegantly, but fast. No, the situation really wasn't like that. Actually, he really was just too slow. His fans bombarded the arrival area and being the male god he felt he was, took pictures and signed autographs

"hmm?" seeing that she was stopped by the rude man, Hui Yin didn't want to stop but her sleeves were tugged. "please take your hands off my sleeves Mr. Sparks" she glared while trying to be polite.

"ah, I'm sorry..I mean I'm sorry about earlier and I'm sorry for what I just did..it's just..I just...." he didn't know how to explain. It would put him in an embarrassing situation if he said he thought she was a fan.

Seeing the man in front of her so fl.u.s.tered that he resembled a bunny, Hui Yin laughed. This man was too cute!

When he heard her laugh, Nathan didn't know what to say but his face reddened even more.

'how embarrassing!!' he thought but her laugh was fresh in his ears, it tingled his hearing.

"I sincerely apologize Miss...?"

"Anna, Anna Lin and apology accepted Mr. Nathan" she smiled then reverted back to her original facade of coldness

"If there's nothing else Mr. Sp--"

"Call me Nathan please. I would like to ask if you'd be up for a cup of coffee?"

"maybe next time, Nathan. We wouldn't want your elder brother dealing with papparazzi again now, would you?" Hui Yin continued walking while he followed along. She indeed knew about him earlier on when she heard his surname.

"ahh yes, yes he would always complain abou---huh? what?" Nathan stopped to process what he had just heard

'does this really mean she knew me..?'
