The Heiress

Chapter 42 - WAKE UP MR. CHENG!

Cheng Ming-hùa watched the streets that he passed by dazedly. He wasn't actually staring but remembering when the woman started working for him

For as long as he could remember, Hui Yin had been by his side most of the time eversince she started working. When he woke up in his villa or a hotel, she would be standing ready to help him prepare like a butler. When he needed medicine, he hadn't found a chance to say it out loud when Hui Yin gives him what he needs. The woman was surely attentive which made him wonder what made him hate her suddenly.

"Mr. Cheng, we've arrived"

The reminder broke him out of his trance but resumed once he stepped inside his house.

Would she still be back after what I had done? Surely not.

His c.h.e.s.t and ears started to itch, he felt irritated and didn't know why. Later, the man calmed himself down and fell asleep.

....

"Mr. Cheng"

eh? Was he dreaming? That woman, Anna Lin was really calling him even in his dreams?

"Mr. Cheng, you have to wake up"

"Mr. Cheng...." even after calling his name three times, the man hadn't fluttered his eyes open. Usually just calling his name once would do the trick, most of the time she needn't even do so because Ming-hùa was such a light sleeper.

Out of nowhere, Hui Yin became violent and slapped his face.

"Arrghh!"

Oh, it did the trick

"Good morning Mr. Cheng, please get ready. You have a meeting with the councilor early this morning." Like nothing happened at all, Hui Yin flawlessly spoke to him.

Cheng Ming-hùa who thought she slapped him in his dreams couldn't help but reach out to touch his stinging cheek

"get me coffee, Anna"

"right away Mr. Cheng" She turned to the door, and went out. When no one was in sight, a smile bloomed greatly on Hui Yin's lips and she chuckled at what she had done.

Treat that as a thank you for embarrassing me

.....

When she walked out, Ming-hùa who was sitting upright on his bed realized that she had indeed come!

He was surprised. It was impossible not to feel even a tinge of humiliation of what he had said but she still returned to his side. He really had thought that she would hand in a resignation letter with a tear-stained face which usually happened with his former secretaries.

Unconscious towards his actions, he let out a sigh in relief
