The God's Throne

Chapter 1 - The Lord of Despair

Tales of Gods and Devils passed through history, through ancient tomes and relics. Eons had passed, bringing down the records while personas of different races twisted the truth.

However, like a burning candle fighting against a strong wind, an incarnation of the past breaks out of the cycle of reincarnation. His god's soul which was passing through time finally awakened at one tiny corner of an uncivilized land.

...

Glimmering light broke out of the dawn as the eternal sun shimmered the glaze village with its holiness. The village located at the base of the Shining Mount was radiating liveliness in all direction - like the sun itself. The village was bustling with clamorous noises which reflected the enthusiasm of people.

Most of the villagers in the glaze village lived off the land and were blocked off from the outside news. This made them more gentle and caring- which didn't happen in the outside world.

"Terrific! I was such a fool... It was my own fault" An aloof voice filled with slight guiltiness echoed across the plain as the sun came to a standstill at the slopes of the mountain.

At one corner of the Heavenly Cliff, located at the shining mount, several miles away from the village, a handsome youngster could be seen. The boy was tall and broad-shouldered, with a mop of jet black hair and heavy, solemn brows that were offset by a boyish face. A pair of eyes the color of sea glass that kept slipping down his long nose. Currently, a sad smile was hanging down his face as he gazed upon the sun. He looked above while sighing, "At least I am still breathing."

The young boy was once known as the legendary Lord of Despair, Eria- a fearsome lord who once had reigned over many lives.

Currently, the Lord's 'young' heart was shaken like never before. It was as though he had awoken from a nightmare in a sudden fright, and wasn't able to differentiate reality and illusion. To him, it was quite ironic; as once a lord of despair, he was in despair himself.

After his near-death experience from the fight against the alien organization, he was sure that he wasn't going to see the world again, but against his expectation, the Lord of Rebirth gave him a chance to relive his life. His soul passed through countless reincarnation without a chance of resurrection.

The Evil gods and Righteous Gods had waged war on each other since ancient times. Evil gods were formed from negativity so they shared an opposite viewpoint to righteous gods. As the Lord of rebirth was one of the Righteous Gods, it was quite surprising that he would choose to give the Evil gods another life.

As the most compassionate God, witnessing the fall his realm, it might have triggered an emotional response. However, Eria wasn't sure himself as he wasn't in a state to comprehend the situation during the war.

Eria's God's soul was hidden inside the body for fifteen years. While the other Eria was in a life-death situation, the god soul that was in slumber awoke. After his soul arose, the two different souls merged to form one complete being.

However, there were still some memories locked inside his soul- the ones that were harmful to a weak brain.

"What was the point in that conflict? We were just fools hoping for destruction!" Eria muttered as he gazed upon the scarlet sun, which was slowly hiding behind the damp clouds. The sudden memory disrupted his heart, and it almost made him want to vomit his inside.

While he was doubting his past mistake, a figure hopped towards his direction.

"Brother Eria, come quickly. Mom and Dad are worried about you, " A sweet voice drifted across the cliff as an adorable figure hopped across the bushes and came before Eria. Her small feats landed on the edge of the cliff, and as she looked around for a while, she said, "Do you have the five flowered flower I asked for?"

At a glance, the girl dressed in green looked to be thirteen to fourteen years of age. She was as fair as snow with charming rosy lips and a delicate nose. Although the girl was born in a village, she gave out the presence of a princess. Even though that was the case, it didn't surprise Eria as he knew, she was the reincarnation of the goddess of light.

Although he hadn't yet digested all the information, he felt like there was no longer any point in having a grudge on the righteous gods. Although they had betrayed Evil Gods several times, it was for a better future. Both groups of gods wanted a better future for the spirit realm.

Eria's face softened as he smiled a little upon seeing his new sister. She wasn't his soul related sister, nor did she share the same blood as the current him. Instead, she was a non-biological sister to the Eria - the two didn't share the same parent.

Her family adopted the original Eria at the age of five, hoping that they could raise him until he could stand on his own feet and help them when they got sick or old. It had been about nine years since then, and they looked upon him as their own child.

"I couldn't find any," said Eria as he lifted his b.a.r.e hands slightly while smiling from ear to ear. "And, I guess I can't keep on spoiling you."

The girl sourly smiled while she saw Eria's cheeky smile. Her small, cute face started to slowly form a doleful expression as she saw him empty-handed.

However, before she could pout, Eria closed his palm, and opened them once again, "I am joking!" he said as a flower with five beautiful petals curling at the edges from the summer heat, suddenly appeared in his hands.

The girl's facial expression quickly changed as her gaze landed on the floor that suddenly appeared in Eria's bronze hand.

They exuded otherworldly aura and had a soft texture. Rin had an excited expression as she knew it was one of the medicinal plants that were required to create skin-clearing pills.

"You can have it Rin," Eria said as he threw the berries to the little girl. The girl sweetly smiled and caught the flower in a hurry.

"Thanks, Brother Eria," said the girl as she put the flower inside her woolen sac carefully. While she was about to close her sac, Eria noticed a tingle of red radiating out of her arm. It formed an arc and seemed to be created from an act of a demon.

"Is your hands alright?" Eria quickly grabbed her hand to see the wound. Although it wasn't deep, it seemed quite hurtful for a little girl to have.

"It's alright," The girl said as she pulled her arm while blushing slightly. "I encountered a demonic rabbit on the way, that's all."

Not satisfied with Rin's response, Eria grabbed her hand and used whatever pitiful mana he had to heal her. Slowly, the wound recovered, although a small scar remained.

"Wow, you can already do that! " The girl exclaimed as she saw her wound close up. She looked up to his face and said with surprise," Your mana increased by so much"

Mana was the external and internal energy that supported life, so it wasn't astonishing that it could heal the wound. But for it to treat such a big wound was quite a big deal, especially for Eria little sister as she knew her brother wasn't proficient in light magic.

However, Eria didn't display any excited expression as he knew that it was mainly because of the power of the Goddess of light. He just needed to trigger it to heal Rin. In terms of talent, the body Eria currently occupied could be the worst one he ever encountered upon on his life; it was fundamentally talentless.

However, he still put a smile after knowing that his sister was alright. He said nothing concerning his mana as he didn't want to disappoint her.

"Let's go, " after Eria was sure that Rin was completely fine, he softly sighed. After that, he grabbed Rin's hand and headed towards the hundred beasts, as it was the only way for them to get back to the village.
