The Genie's Curse

Chapter 13 - A kings d.e.s.i.r.e

Tsuru eyed the man that wished to be king complying to his demand, looking at her hand she snapped her fingers and his wish was now reality. The mans home was the fist thing to change, vibrant colors appearing out of the bloom, the room becoming more than twice its size in mere instants. The mans clothes transforming at a par with the colors presented matching in every way. But what stood out the most was the gold covered crown above his head with jewels shining like small stars.

She hurried outside to see wat was left of the city. The homes of those around where merged with the castle and everyone in the area had been brought to a center looking perplexed at what went on around them. However her eyes traveled across the people for a different reason, she was searching her family. But in the mist of the crowd she couldn't see anyone her eyes unable to locate her loved ones.

"So, I'm a real king?" Bilal asked as he contemplated the castle calmly walking outside where she was.

"Yes, what would you like next?" Tsuru questioned here eyes still wondering through the crowd.

"Before I make any more wishes I need you to answer some questions." Bilal signaled her to follow an him to an empty room.

She followed him forcing her eyes to stop searching, "What do you want me to answer?"

"I have infinite wishes am I correct?" He questioned analyzing the situation, it's like he still couldn't believe what was just being handed to him.

Tsuru floated to the window in the room looking outside, "Yes."

"How long have genies existed?" His eyes followed her curiously around the room, leaning against the wall to stare out the window trying to see what she searched for.

Her mind drifted on the question, even she wanted to know how many more had gone through this torture, how many where ripped from their families, "I don't know."

He raised an eyebrow at her, "Don't know?" He paused bringing a hand to his chin, "What do you mean you don't know?"

"I'm a new generation I was not told how many generations where before me." She replied spotting a familiar face in the distance.

Bilal was quiet for a moment, "So, there are more of you?"

"Yes, Many in fact." Seeing her brother off in the distance brought her a sense of relief that he was alright, but that only lasted seconds as she envisioned what he would think of her now.

His interest grew on what she could possibly be staring so concentrated at, "What are you looking at?"

She looked away from her brother pondering on whether or not she should tell him the truth, unsure if someone with the capabilities to do anything should be trusted with it, "Just looking around, this is the first wish anyone's asked of me."

"In that case, let us look around together." He didn't quite believe her but followed her little game.

Together they looked through some halls and a few rooms and every now and then banging would be heard in the distance, screams and yells followed each time. Until finally they stopped in place, the yells far too loud to ignore and the banging too close for comfort, "Seems everyone is dying to know about this castle." Tsuru didn't say a word in response her eyes dashing through the corridors, "I wish for guards."

One snap of her fingers and every hall, every door, everywhere you looked there was a guard. Like a statue they stood still, however something about them seemed inhuman, "Um, shouldn't you tell the people something, maybe it'll calm them down." Her voice coming out like a whisper, she wasn't concerned about everyone, only on her brother who was out there and alone.

He held a hand to his chin giving her a nod, "I agree, I suppose they can all be gathered outside and have a proper announcement." He didn't really knowing where he was going but managed to make it to a balcony. He looked down from the height seeing a vast garden with plants he could have never even dreamed of, "I wish everyone down there, where they can see me."

And like all genie's she complied

Caron stared at Tsuru all through the dinner unaware that it wasn't her daughter, yet Allon didn't spare a glance, oblivious to the stared Tsuru would burn into his skull. He would stare endlessly at his plate thinking something unknown or any of them.

The quiet coming to an end Allon speaking, "Aunt Caron, Evira and I will be going to my house quickly just gonna get something." He finally looked up from his plate

Caron looked over at him cutting of her staring at Tsuru, "What you are getting?"

Allon looked at Tsuru momentarily, he had planed ahead and his answer came with no hesitation, "A board game."

She raised an eyebrow at what he said, "What for?"

"To play it of course."

"Alright, but be back quick and say hi to your mother for me." Caron stood up from the table leaving her plate, "Remember Evira needs her rest."

Tsuru watched her leave giving her a smile when she turned their eyes meeting. Once she left an Allon clearers this throat catching her eye, "I'm listening."

"Your doing a terrible acting job." His fingers tapping against the table rhythmically, "So, the sooner we're done with this, the better."

She scoffed at his words, "Well excuse me for not impersonation people more often."

Sighing he picked up his plate signaling her to do the same and follow, they walked in the empty kitchen placing the plates on a counter. Leaning against one of them he looked up at the ceiling quietly Tsuru didn't turn to stare her eyes concentrated on the different foreign object in the kitchen for her.

"I'll get the keys, meet me outside." With that he marched out the room and she followed orders.

Nonetheless she couldn't help but wonder what Allon thought so much about, being that they already had a plan on how to get Keir to them. She was cautious about everything and everyone, unable to trust anyone completely as the time had taught her in a cruel way.

Deep down she always knew someone was bound to stab her in the back, so it was always the matter of where and when. In the end it was always time her biggest enemy, yet... deeper than that... she was her own threat.
