The Female Lead Is A Lesbian

Chapter 61 - Where Are You?

(At A Hospital)

|This was around the time Zoey/Jade was reincarnated|

"Why's it so dark? What happened?

I can barely remember... wait, there was a loud noise. An explosion, then there was gas. I couldn't move, everything hurt.

But then Jade held me.

Wait! Jade! FIRE!

Jade, I need to find Jade! JADE!"

Annie said. But her voice seemed to echo into an endless dark void. She was starting to panic at the endless darkness around her.

'Do not worry child'

"*Gasp* Who said that?" Annie gasped.

'We shall meet again after you two reunite'

"What!? Who are you!?" Annie exclaimed her questions.

'Try to keep strong'

"W-wait, do you know where Jade is?" Annie asked.

'Now it's time for you to wake up'

"Huh? *Ahhh*" Annie yelled out as a huge blinding white light scorched her vision.

-

*Beep____ Beep____Beep____Beep*

Annie found her ears surrounded by the whirring and noises of a machine. It sounded like an air pump.

Her arms were sore and felt like something was sticking into them. Her lips felt dry and cracked and they were wrapped around something.

It tasted awful and felt hard and it reached all the way down her throat. It hurt like hell.

She tried to take in a breath but there was something in her nose as well, preventing her.

She tried to open her eyes but it was extremely hard. She even felt like she would break a sweat if the room wasn't so cold.

But she was able to open them just enough to get a gist of where she was. She was wrapped in thin white sheets and blankets with tubes running out of her body. She was also in a soft bed with metal rails on the sides.

"A hospital? But-, " she glanced at her arms that we're uncovered. They were smooth, peach-colored, with cute little hands.

"Wasn't I burned? Shouldn't my arms be covered in scars? Also, more importantly, I'm a total weeb so I should be the color of a ghost! Besides, I had many freckles. What the hell?!" Annie launched a question after question in her head.

At that moment she felt her eyes shut on their own and she just couldn't seem to pull them back open.

She sighed in her head and tried her best to pull up any strength she had left. But she had almost completely exhausted herself.

"I at least have to loosen this I.V. " It was making her hand sore and if anybody noticed they might realize she's awake. She slightly raised her right arm but it was if it was stuck to piece of flypaper as it immediately fell back down onto the bed.

Her muscles were singeing in distress but she tried again. This time lifting her arm up and letting it drop onto her stomach.

She silently cheered in her mind and started inching her fingers to the needle secured in her left hand.

She got her hand on the clear tubing and gently tugged it. The needle slowly pulled itself out from her skin making Annie want to cry.

It hurt!

The tape over the needle seems to conceal the fact that it had been pulled out.

But Annie just couldn't find the strength to pull it from out of the tape.

So she let go swinging her arm like a puppet back to her other side.

"*Hah hah hah* Damn that hurt! I can't do it anymore. I should save my strength for when someone comes in." Annie panted in her head.

(Twenty Minutes Later)

*Creak tap tap tap*

Annie found her consciousnesses start to fade but was quickly startled awake by the sound of the door opening and footsteps coming in.

Then she felt somebody hold her right hand.

"Oh, my poor sweet daughter. *SOB SOB*" A woman's voice sobbed.

"What daughter? She doesn't sound like Doris. I don't know you!?" Annie exclaimed in her head confused.

"*Hic* Doctor, are you sure there's no chance she'll wake up?" The strange woman

"I'm sorry ma'am but she's completely brain dead. She's a vegetable." A man's voice stated with no real emotion.

"Braindead? Uh, I think you need to go back to medical school." Annie would have spat at him if not for the tube shoved in his throat.

" *Sniff* No, sis you can't leave." A small female voice sniffled.

"*Hic sniffle* Hey, don't think like that, she could still be in there somewhere." A male voice hiccuped.

"I'm sorry, but that's impossible. *Ahem* I know it's hard but I have these papers you can sign to pull the plug." The man who Annie assumed was the doctor for obvious reasons, said.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, still alive over here!" Annie exclaimed in her head.

"But it's her birthday in a few days. Is it all right if we wait until then?" She asked sounding like she was holding back tears.

"That's up to you ma'am. Ah! I've got to go, someone, is paging me." The doctor said and the sound of footsteps and the opening and closing of the door followed after.

"Birthday? Just how long have I been asleep? Well, first off I should let these people know that I'm ALIVE!" Annie exclaimed. She was about to raise her left hand but then.

"*UGH* I thought he would never leave." The woman that held her hand hissed and took her hand off Annie's.

"*Sigh* Mother why didn't you just sign the papers? I'm getting tired of having to ruin my makeup every time we come to see her." The female voice which was once filled with sadness sighed exasperatedly with a brattish tone.

"Yeah mom, just a few signatures and bam, we don't have to deal with her anymore and we can get on with our lives." The boy complained haughtily.

"Children! Have some brains, it's not about you, it's about me and my reputation. If I seem to be in too much of a rush to put my stepdaughter to death how do you think that'll look for me?

Besides all that toxin we've been putting into her I.V, she's probably not that far from death. So we can just wait until she actually kicks it." The woman scolded the other two.

Annie could hear the other two sigh loudly and suddenly she felt someone come closer to her.

"*Scoff* So pathetic. You brought this on yourself you know. You were just so easy to take control of. Now I get everything you have you, ugly bastard." The girl's voice hissed into her ear.

"What did I do to you!?! I don't even know any of you!?!" Annie screeched in her head.

"Sweetheart, don't waste your breath it's not like she can hear you." The woman said.

"*Sigh* You do have a point. But can we go now, there are these cute new clothes in this store. I wanna check them out!" The girl w.h.i.n.ed.

The woman replied, " Hmmm, I guess we've been here long enough. Let's go and I'm going with you to that store."

"You guys better tone it down on the spending Father almost had a heart attack when he saw how much you guys spent in his last bank statements." The boy stated.

"Oh, hush women need to have fun too. Besides all our new clothes are month old, we need some new ones." The woman said.

"On second thought she might be Doris after all. She's such a GREAT role model, " Annie rolled her eyes in her mind.

She heard the sound of them exiting and said to herself, " I don't know who these people are but, I do know is that they are poisoning me and trying to kill me. So I should just try to keep this damn needle out of my hand. Maybe if I keep it out, the poison will make its way out of my system."

She then allowed herself to drift off into unconsciousness.

(Three Days Later)

Annie had done her best to keep the I.V out of her hand and nobody seemed to notice.

Her assumption that the poison would get out of her system seemed to be correct. As she could move her arms even better than before though they were still a bit weak.

So now she planned to escape this place. So she waited until it seemed no hospital personnel was around.

When the coast seemed clear she slowly pulled the plastic tube out of her throat. "*URK UGH COUGH COUGH COUGH COUGH*"

She coughed and gagged as she rubbed her sore throat. It felt raw and course. She then cleared her throat and yanked the tubes that were stuck in her nose as well.

She almost cried as she was finally able to take her first deep breath ever since waking up there.

She then pulled the tape and needle off her hand which felt sore.

She shook her head and tried her best to ignore the pain. She shakily put her hands on the right rail of her bed and limply crawled off.

Her legs felt numb but the muscles inside them started pouring out searing pain. Her knees collapsed onto the cold floor as she still gripped onto the railing.

She took a deep breath and pushed herself up into a standing position. She let go of the railing and wobbled on her feet like a newborn baby. Her legs were begging her to cease but she didn't.

She strode shakily over to the door but out of the corner of her eye, she saw a reflection in the window.

She immediately did a double-take and stumbled over to the window. She grabbed onto the sill and stared at the girl before her.

She had long and wavy blond hair, a delicate little nose, pale and chapped lips, a round and plump little face, different colored eyes with one being a deep chocolate color and the other being light green with yellow flecks around the pupil.

It was actually quite an endearing appearance but there was one distracting feature. A large purplish mark that spread across the right side of her forehead, down over her right eye (the brown one), and even sat a little on her cheek.

"Who is that?" Annie asked. She then reached her hand toward the reflection and saw it do the same.

She gasped and quickly pulled her hand away. Her heart started to constrict painfully in her c.h.e.s.t and she broke out in a cold sweat.

She started to pant and reached a trembling hand to her face. The reflection copied her.

She then pinched her cheek harshly to see if she was dreaming. "Ow, " The pain was real.

Annie let go of her cheek and started to hyperventilate. "* Hoo hoo hoo hoo HAH HOO* No! This, this isn't, this can't be! This isn't it me it isn't possible! *AAAAHHHHHH*"

She let out an ear-piercing shriek. This alerted two nurses outside her room who immediately busted in.

Their eyes widened and one of them shouted, " Oh, my, page the doctor! STAT!"

They started to approach Annie slowly one spoke very calmly, " Mia, calm down. You're in the hospital. Do you remember how you got here?"

Annie looked at the nurses in horror. " Mia? Why are you calling me that!" She exclaimed.

The nurses looked at each other and back to Annie, " You're obviously a little confused. Your name is Mia Tan you tried to commit suicide by drinking poison but failed. You have been in a coma for almost a year now." He explained.

Annie started to pull her hair and breath even harder as she yelled, " No that's not my name! My name is Annie Smith! And that's not me! " she pointed to her reflection. "That's not my face! You must have done something to me while I was sleeping! I can't be someone else that's not possible!"

"Miss Tan-, " the nurse reached out to try to console her but Annie slapped his hand away and then slapped his face.

It didn't do damage, however. She saw the other nurse try to approach her and she shoved her with all her strength causing her to fall onto her behind.

"Where's Jade!? What did you do to Jade!" She yelled again.

At that moment two more nurses and a doctor came into the room. The doctor took one look at the frazzled Annie and his jaw clenched.

"This woman is obviously psychotic I'll have to sedate her. Hold her down, " He commanded.

The other two nurses then rushed forward and grabbed Annie by the arms.

"No, let go of me! Leave me alone! Jade help me!" Annie cried.

She was then pulled back onto the bed. Her ankles and wrists were being held down and no matter how much she struggled she wouldn't budge.

"Hold her still, " the doctor ordered while he grabbed a needle and glass jar and started to fill the plunger.

"No! NO! WHERE'S JADE?! I WANT JADE!" Annie screamed but they fell on deaf ears.

The doctor approached her and injected the needle onto her arm. Annie felt the familiar salty fluid flow down her cheeks.

"There it should kick in, in just a few minutes." The doctor stated as he pulled the needle out of her arm.

"*Hic hic hic* Jade...help me...Jade...I'm scared. *Hah* Why aren't you here? Why...aren't you helping me?

Jade...*hic*...*shudder* where are you?" Annie's words became hesitant and choppy as the drug flowed through her system.

Her vision blurred as she blinked. Each time she blinked it became harder to open her eyes again. Finally, her eyes shut but not before producing one more lone tear to glide down from the corner of her eye.

"jade"

Annie whispered out one final world before her mind went dark.
