92. The Revenge

Translator: Iris Guo

“Well, actually you can groan. Just don’t grunt like a piglet. That’s disturbing…” muttered A’Chou while glimpsing the back of Zhong Mingwei’s head.

The next second, Zhong Mingwei’s big hand slapped A’Chou’s with a little energy, and she pretended to grimace in pain immediately: “How could a big man be so petty! Your mind must be as narrow as the eye of the needle.”

Zhong Mingwei’s face turned gloomy, turned around suddenly, and glared at A’Chou. She immediately cowered to the corner and gestured: “No, I was wrong. You have a big heart, and your mind is so much broader than the eye of the needle, as big as the fingernail…”

The corner of Zhong Mingwei’s mouth at once twitched but he said nothing.

“You also need to put forth your strength!” A’Chou was in a great bustle, tired and anxious. She held Zhong Mingwei’s feet and sweated profusely. She was most nervous at this time every day because she feared he would fall again. However, today he seemed to be deliberately leaning against her, and she even dared not breathe. “You’re doing it on purpose. I said you were narrow-minded. You didn’t admit that but got mad at me. What are you doing? For revenge? You were doing fine yesterday, and now you just plan not to practice at all?”

A’Chou was right. Zhong Mingwei did it on purpose. She was in a huff. When he saw her angry face, he felt guilty and he had vented his spite upon her. Thus, he stopped teasing her, put his arms around her shoulder and another hand against the wall, then moved slowly outside while clenching his teeth. He still couldn’t move his legs, but his waist was obviously much better, along with his strong legs, he could ease a lot of A’Chou’s burden. She used to both support his whole body and walk with him while tying their bodies together, but now she only needed to held his arms.

“Hey! Slow down! Take it easy! Easy!” Zhong Mingwei finally moved out of the chamber. A’Chou was so excited that she shouted. Although she told him to be easy, she was more anxious than him. “Cling to the wall. Right. Try again…”

Zhong Mingwei gritted his teeth. It took him nearly half an hour to walk from his bed to the door. Although there were a dozen steps away, his face was already dripping with sweat. He put one hand against the wall, and another was supported by A’Chou. Certainly he didn’t want her tired, so he exerted all his strength in most of his body and became short of breath.

“Too tired? Let’s take a break,” said A’Chou hurriedly. She let Zhong Mingwei lean against the wall and took a cotton handkerchief. “Want some water?”

Zhong Mingwei shook his head, closed his eyes, and panted. A’Chou wiped the sweat off his face slowly, and her eyes moved with the handkerchief, from his forehead, to his prominent nose, and his full rosy lips…

A’Chou swallowed hard.

“Thirsty?” Zhong Mingwei obviously heard A’Chou. He opened his eyes slowly, looked at her, and put his hand in hers against the wall. Then, he clung to the wall and spoke to her: “Go have some tea.”

“I’m not thirsty.” explained A’Chou. However, she found it a little hard to explain and herself so strange. Now as long as she was with Zhong Mingwei, she would get lost in various fancies. She was just wiping the sweat off him, but she felt that her heart was going to pop.

“Have some tea anyway.” Zhong Mingwei looked at A’Chou’s sweaty forehead, paused, and continued: “I’ll try to stand.”

“Okay. Watch out then.” A’Chou had no choice but to let go of Zhong Mingwei. It was just that she dared not go further. She took two steps back slowly with open arms and waited to help him up when he fell.
