The Daring CEO's Innocent Wife

Chapter 9 - Saved by a phone call

Samantha stuffed herself with food to distract herself from Alex. She was so focused on eating when his questioning voice sounded in her ears: "So, have you thought about my offer?"

*Cough**Cough**Cough*

Samantha choked on her food and looked at Alex's earnest gaze. It's like he's a real-life polygraph test and knows when she's lying."Umm, well---" before she can say anything else, Alex's phone rang, and he checked who the caller is.

He furrowed his brows once he found out who it is. He answered the call: "Hello?"d.

"Alex, come quickly to the hospital. Your father suddenly fainted and is now in the Emergency Room." a woman's voice rang on the phone.

Alex furrowed his brows and looked at Samantha like he was in deep thought. He nodded: "Okay, I'll be right there." then he hung up.

Alex looked at Samantha and told her gently: "I will go out first. You can watch television while I'm not here and---." Alex grabbed his wallet and took a blue card from it. "You can use this if you want to buy something."

Samantha was surprised that Alex was willing to give him a card. She once read it on the news, the card that in the whole world, only people counted in one hand can own. She hurriedly shook her head: "I don't need this."

Alex did not argue with her and left the card on the table and left the house. After a few moments, she heard a car engine turn on and going further and further away. And just like that, she was saved by a phone call.

Whoever was that called, thank you for distracting Alex.

Samantha picked up her plate and was just about to pick up Alex's plate when a woman's voice rang behind her: "Ma'am, I should do that."

She turned around and saw the maid going up to her. She took the plate from her hand and picked up Alex's plate seamlessly. She did not reject the thought because she was worried that Alex might fire the maid if she started doing their job.

...

Alex sped through the intersection and went to the hospital, the hospital is own by the Walton Corp., and it was the most prestigious hospital in the world with big shots as their patient. Alex personally trained the hospital employees because he doesn't like it when things went awry.

The guards recognized Alex's car, and hurriedly opened the door for him. Alex parked the car at the front of the hospital, and no one dared to utter a word of complaint. He went straight to the presidential elevator and pushed the top floor.

When the elevator door opened, a room was in his sight. The whole floor only consists of one place, and in the middle of the room was a king-size bed, and lying there was a man in his 50s with white hair and pale face. The man was Alex's father, Joshua Walton and sitting beside the bed was a woman in her 50s with worry covering her face.

The woman was holding Joshua's hand, and her facial features look a bit the same with Alex. She was his mother, Mary Walton.

Beside her, there two men, one blonde and one with naturally white hair. They were Alex's younger brothers, Jason and Howard. They looked at Alex and went towards him. They were both free and unfettered because of their genius brother, but lately, they were being annoyed to get a wife and make them a grandchild.

This hug was like saying to Alex: 'Bro, help me distract mom and dad.'

Alex knew they would never consider getting married. They were both famous Casanovas with girls all around. Alex's father and mother looked at him, and Alex went beside his father.

His father looked at him and ignored him. He was pretty upset that Alex did not have a grandchild for them dote on and brag to their friends. He stubbornly asked: "When are you getting us a grandchild?"

Alex facepalmed. Even if they were in a critical condition, all their attention was on them getting a grandchild even though Alex and his two younger brothers are still in their 20s.
