Alex looked at Samantha, who was pretending to be asleep. He whispered: "Have you forgotten what you said earlier?"

Samantha's heart thumped. Of course, she remembers saying to Alex that she will agree to marry him in exchange for finding Samuel.

Samantha opened her eyes and saw Alex looking at her, and she blushed.

Alex c.a.r.e.s.sed her face and firmly said: "So, when are you going to pick a date?"

Samantha covered her head with a blanket and wanted to dig a hole and bury herself.

"Umm, I still haven't met your parents," Samantha said, quickly changing the topic.

"I will first make a dinner appointment with my parents after they leave the hospital," Alex said.

"Why are they in the hospital, did something happen to them?" Samantha hurriedly asked when she heard Alex's parents were in the hospital.

"My father had a heart attack from being heartbroken from not having grandkids. All his friend now have grandkids, and he wants to show off." Alex said, honestly.

Samantha does not know whether to laugh or to cry. For a simple reason as not having grandkids, Alex's father suffered a heart attack.

"Umm... Samantha, if it's okay with you. Can I ask who Samuel's father is?" Alex asked which made Samantha stiff all of a sudden.

"I don't know either. I was in a bar drinking then the next thing I knew, I was in bed with blood on the blanket. I did not search for the man, and a month later, I felt dizzy and bought some pregnancy kits, and almost all say it's positive, so I called for Irene." Samantha said without any emotion in her face.

"Then, she supported me and decided that she can care for the kid when I am not available." Samantha continued. Alex nodded and did not say anything else. He just listened to Samantha talk about her past.

Alex wanted to kill the man who did this to her. After they separated in high school, Alex did something and had a short term memory loss, so the only thing he remembered was high school and some important stuff after that.

Alex does not know what his reaction his parents will have after they know that Samantha already had a son, but he will defend her all the way. He already lost her for years, and he won't make that mistake again. The mistake of being a shy guy who did not dare to confess his love for her back then.

Alex clasped Samantha's hand and kissed it. Samantha looked at Alex, and she brought her face closer to his that she can feel his breath on her face.

They stayed like that for a minute when Samantha drew even closer and kissed Alex. Alex did not move an inch because he too was surprised.

Samantha only kissed him for more than ten seconds when she broke the kiss and stared at Alex before closing her eyes.

Alex was only looking at her and nothing more. He never felt her soft lips, and the feeling made her paralyzed. He saw Samantha closed her eyes and stay like that. Her shallow breathing can be felt in his face.

Alex closed his eyes and thought about the feeling of her kiss, and unconsciously slept.
