The Commoner Consort: The Country's Respected Empress

Emperor's chamber.

Madam Mary speaks hesitantly "I don't think it's a good idea to involve Maya in this gathering, Your Majesty".

Emperor Philip smirks meaningfully "I think it's the right time, love. Someday that child has to involve in the political decisions. So, why not now?".

Madam Mary sighs sitting beside him "You are not understanding this completely… Don't you think it's so soon for her? I have been nice to her throughout the dinner because I know that she doesn't know anything about our Royal etiquettes and we understand! Because she our family now. But the people in tomorrow's gathering won't go easy on her. Didn't you notice how Crown Prince behaved in the dinner?! I don't think she or Crown Prince would appreciate this"

Emperor Philip tries to sit and smiles seeing her helping him. He speaks "Someone has to take a step towards the other, love. Do I have to explain this to you? You are the one who managed to keep me alive after Claudia disappeared from my life"

Madam Mary gets sad hearing him and listens to him silently without speaking another word after hearing Empress Claudia's name.

Emperor Philip speaks without noticing the change in her face "You stepped towards me when I was in distress. I am only worried for that child. I feel she is facing this because of me. Did I do anything wrong by bringing her?-".

Madam Mary speaks "You brought her, who was none other than a simple commoner into Royalty and made her into A Queen Consort, Your Majesty. She would be grateful for such greatness. She should worship you for your mercy on her".

Emperor Philip smiles bitterly and wonders in a daze "Do you really think she would worship me? Forget about worshipping me. Would she understand my good intention?"

Madam Mary frowns "Why wouldn't she?".

Emperor Philip looks at her meaningfully "She is from such a land where we can't expect her to worship us just because we are Royal. They believe in an entirely different aspect about respecting someone.  I wonder whether she is happy in this marriage. What if she doesn't like to live with Xander?".

Madam Mary asks with a smile "Then why would she have agreed to marry Our Crown Prince? And why would she leave her country for him? You are just overthinking in their matter. I agree that they are not together now like a married couple now, but as the time passes who knows? They might end up being the best couple in the nation!".

LAUGH!

Emperor Philip laughs heartily and sighs "I don't know whether they would be best couple but I can say… She would be the Best Empress of our nation after Claudia..".

He lets out a sigh and gets sad remembering Empress Claudia.

Madam Mary looks at Emperor Philip and a look of resentment passes from her eyes but she soon masks it. She smiles "I will take leave then. I wonder what mischiefs our Scarlet is doing to her servants now!"

Emperor Philip nods and is still absent-minded.

Madam Mary leaves the chamber and advances towards her chamber. While she is walking towards her Pavilion, she stops before Maya's chamber and looks at Sarah sleeping near the door. She glares at the door viciously before leaving the place.

She smirks 'I am waiting for tomorrow's gathering, you filthy girl. I will see how that Kalki would bear your presence!'.

While Kalki was having sleepless night in the Royal Palace, there is another person who is also having a sleepless night. Let's take a look at the restless person.

Xavier's Chamber.

Xavier sat in front of a chandelier and looks at the melting wax in a daze. He couldn't forget Maya's shocked face when he asked about her wedding ring. He has been restless ever since he met her in the Imperial Court. He is still feeling her scent around him. He doesn't know whether it is just illusion betraying him!

'She is lying. I know that look on her face. I can see through her lie but I don't understand why she is hiding that from me! Am I really a mere stranger to her?!'

He stands frustrated and looks out from his chamber through a window which is located in a way where Xavier could see the door of the chamber where Maya is staying tonight.

If she stayed in Kalki's chamber, he would not have this chance. But a new arising thought made Xavier to develop some hope in his heart.

He smiles seeing Sarah sleeping "So… you are sleeping peacefully. I swear I would leave you only after knowing the truth tomorrow!".

'What does she think? That she could escape from my questions?! I already caught her lie and now.. I only have to make her confess the truth! She might be afraid of Xander- Yes! Why did I not ask about this to Xander? Why am I hesitating to speak up to My Brother?!'.

He smiles relieved at the thought of Kalki and sighs relaxed as if some heavy burden got removed from his shoulder.

He also remembers about the political gathering which would happen at noon and smirks "I would see how you react to the conversations happen between the Royals tomorrow. You always blame Royals, don't you? You become lioness in front of me to support the people of my own country as if we are the sole people responsible for every problem. I too will see how audacious you will be in front of my Brother and the whole Royal people! I can't wait to see your timid face tomorrow".

Xavier lies on his King-sized bed and smiles 'What if she is really not married?!'.

He tosses restlessly and wonders 'Why would be Xander hiding something very important from me?'.

KNOCK!

Xavier frowns hearing the sound and steps out from his bed. He knew it would be any of his family members. No one would dare to knock a Prince's chamber door at this hour without an announcement!
