The Commoner Consort: The Country's Respected Empress

Sarah stands hurriedly and says "Maya...Just remember! Don't do anything to make her angry..alright?".

Sarah runs out hurriedly to greet Princess Veronica.

Maya nods lightly and thinks 'Why is everyone trying to make me remember something? Why can't I be carefree? What would happen if Veronica gets angry on me?'.

Before she could finish her thinking, a young girl runs into her chamber and says "Princess Veronica wants to meet you and Princess is waiting for you outside".

Maya raises her eyebrow. By hearing her tone, Maya could smell the arrogance.

'Even the servant of this Princess doesn't fear anyone?'.

Maya smiles mockingly "Why do I feel you forgot to do something?". She always stopped Sarah from calling her as 'mam'.

'But why should I bow to an arrogant girl who forgets her duty. I don't want to respect me but at least she could have been talked with some humbleness! I won't yield to anyone's arrogance! Even The Crown Prince has to pay for those words which he said to me!'.

The servant creased her eyebrows irritated and says "I didn't forget anything! Just follow me! Princess wants to see you at once!".

Seeing the servant not even getting the hint, Maya could understand that Veronica would be thousand times arrogant than this servant in front of her.

'If you know you would not get the respect back, then why should you respect the person? And too the girl younger than me? I hardly can withstand Crown Prince's arrogance on me...But why should I, for his sister just because he dots on her? If I digest this arrogance of her, doesn't that mean I fear her?'.

Maya smiles deeply 'Seems I have to teach some lessons to my 'sister-in-law' today?'.

Maya walks towards her bed languidly and sits ignoring the servant completely.

The servant says in a warning tone "Miss! I order you-".

Maya's face turned completely stern and asks calmly which contrasted her expression "Could a servant order your Crown Prince's wife in this palace? Why don't I think so?".

The servant is bewildered by Maya's words and gets stunned for a moment. By Princess's words before, the servant thought that this 'Mam' was a timid from different country and also abandoned by Crown Prince.

'How could this girl be so ...scary? Even her eyes speak!'

Maya could say that she got scared by three words 'Crown Prince's wife'. Being a commoner, how could she scare her?.

The servant recovers from her shock and stammers "This...this servant-".

Maya clicks her tongue mockingly "So you remember you are a servant now?".

The servant felt cold in her spine and says "This servant deserves to be punish-".

Before she could complete, Maya stands as if she expected for this line and announces "Alright then! I would punish-".

Before Maya could speak a shrill voice came "You dare to disrespect this Princess!?".

Maya tilts her head to the door and sees a girl. Of course she is so beautiful, her walk filled with elegance. Maya is completely mesmerizing by the girl's beauty.

However, While Maya's eyes met the girl's eyes, she noticed disdain.

Veronica gets angry and almost yells "Scarlett!! Dare you disobey my order!?".

'Scarlett ? Isn't that the youngest Princess's name? Is this just a coincidence or..?'.

Maya couldn't help but chuckle gaining everyone's attraction towards her "Order? So you ordered your servant to drag this Crown Prince's wife out of my chamber?".

Veronica's eyes turned vicious and speaks harshly "You dare to call this Princess without respect?".

Maya sighs and asks smiling "How should I teach a lesson to my Sister-in-law , who forgot to greet this mam? and.....What should I do if she forgot to teach her own servants?".

Veronica was taken aback by Maya's words completely 'Sister-in-law? I came here to create something to send her away from my family without attending the dinner tomorrow as Brother instructed here she is accusing me now for disrespecting her?'.

Veronica clutches her fists and says helplessly "Sister-in-law was the one to disrespect this Princess first. I invited Mam-".

Maya raises her eyebrow in surprise by the change of Veronica's change of attitude instantly and asks mockingly "Invite?".

The servant starts trembling in fear.

Maya goes towards the servant asking "Why do I remember that this servant ordered me?".

The girl kneels down immediately "This servant deserves to be punished!". As she got scared seeing even Princess Veronica to change her attitude towards this Mam!

She curses herself for speaking too much in arrogance.

Sarah gets nervous while entering into the chamber as she never saw Princess Veronica with this expression and Maya? 'Since when she become so brave?'. She never saw Maya when she was in anger!.

Sarah sees the girl kneeling and her lips curved up mockingly 'You were the one who whipped me? I will see you getting scolded-'.

Before she could continue, she hears Maya's voice.

Maya looks at Sarah and asks "Sarah! Tell me what's the punishment to disrespect this Mam?".

Sarah gets really surprised but bows "Answering Mam! 20 slaps -".

Maya continues "Then what for ordering this Mam?".

Sarah gasps "Answering Mam! I don't know as servants never ordered their masters but Whipping them 50 times is the most severe punishment".

Veronica almost fainted in anger and asks "You can't punish my servant! and what did happen to whip her?!".

Maya says in a persuading tone "Seems, Sister-in-law needs to be reminded. I can forgive you for disrespecting me. Because I am elder and I can't slap you for not greeting this mam while meeting but how could I ignore a mere servant ordering Crown Prince's wife? Tell me?".

Veronica stood stunned 'elder? can't slap for not greeting YOU!?'

Veronica's mind is literally screaming to do something..but she smirks 'I just wanted to avoid meeting Emperor tomorrow...but now...'.

She says smiling "Alright! I leave this servant here to you...and This Princess got angry in tiredness..I congratulate Mam and here to gift you something on behalf of my Mother!".

Maya senses something was off as Veronica's attitude is not justifying the situation.

Veronica smirks dangerously "This Princess needs to take care of everything now as no one is there to do other than Me! So I came here to invite Mam personally for tomorrow's dinner!".

Maya wonders 'Is she completely forgetting Madam Mary?'.

Maya is about to speak but Sarah ushers her gesturing pleadingly.

Maya lets out a sigh and nods "I am glad that sister-in-law came here personally".

Veronica smiles which was not completely a smile and says to Sarah "Hand the gifts to Mam and decorate the Pavilion by the flowers I brought at once".
