Maya mocks him in her heart and smirks .

'I am not less to anyone! Now I know how much he knows about me! Now I have to trick him!'.

"I was summoned only now Little girl. You tell me why didn't you summon me before?".

Maya ".." Would he answer any of my question properly?!.

Maya asks sternly "Where are you from? How did you manage to know everything about me?!"

"I told you Little girl. I am everywhere!".

Maya fumes "Are you God?! How can you be everywhere?!".

"May not be and I can be".

Maya stops speaking hearing him.

'He is saying that he is not a God and he still claims that he can be everywhere! How could this even possible?! Only Lord of Winds in myths-'.

She gasps involuntarily "Lord of Winds?!".

THE VOICE CHUCKLES

Maya shakes her head "It can't be. You can't be! They are just mythical stories".

"Why can't I? When you accomplished some powers by getting yourself cursed, why can't I have the power of Wind Lord?!".

Maya realizes that she was holding the hard wooden candle stand and creases her eyebrows.

"I can see you Little girl! I can even look those suspicious eyes".

Maya hits the source of the voice with the wooden stand.

THUD!!

She hears the stand falling on the floor with a heavy sound.

"Do you really think you could hurt me Little girl?".

Maya smirks hearing the mocking voice "You are not Lord of Winds!".

"...."

She smiles "You just have some magical powers but you are definitely not Lord of Winds ...You invisible pretender!".

"..."

" * Cough!* I never told you that I am the Lord of Winds Little girl..". The voice continues after a pause "But. How did you find that I am not the one?".

Maya crosses her hands and looks before her boringly.

'I may not believe in God. But I am from a land where people live hearing these mythical stories. If you stay for a while even you would start believing everything. You may ask then why don't I believe the God's existence. I believe in people who have powers and whom I saw with my own eyes. When I see God who knows? Perhaps I too may believe. And as for the Lord of Wind tale, I may say when I have peace of mind. Now I just want to be alone'.

"I can only see you Little girl. I can't read your mind. So, answer my question".

Maya purses her lips 'At least he blurted this! He can't read my mind and he can't see my future. Fortunately, I get to know this for now!'.

Maya asks "Can you leave me alone now?".

"…"

Maya waits for the voice to speak and frowns "Is he gone?".

"…"

She sighs "I need some time alone. Now think about everything slowly and get understand the situation. As for this Voice-man, didn't he say that I could summon him anytime? Let him wait!".

For the whole night Maya has been thinking about various ways. She may just escape from this place but she is not ready to live with this curse for her entire life.

She decides to lead this selfless way so that she could reduce the effects of the curse.

"If a single good deed can reduce my pain so easily, then what if I make this curse vanish by doing so many good deeds? What if someday I get myself free from this curse?".

'You might even ask what is the problem living with this curse when it makes me so powerful! Only I know how hard it is to raise when you can't! I can withstand the pain sometimes as it makes me powerful. But I have been living this way for so long that I have lived enough. I may gain unimaginable strength when I get hurt but it is even unimaginable to think about the destruction I could cause. And more than that sometimes I can't control myself in extreme anger. Didn't you see when I killed Stephen with my b.a.r.e hand?!'.

Maya felt herself shaking in fear.

'I don't want to make myself into that monster again! I will live a normal life! It's an irony, isn't it?! I am a commoner who can't live a commoner's life'.

She stands with complete determination filled in her eyes and looks at the Sun rising. The beginning of this new day brought many new beginnings in Maya's life.

Here, Maya smiles faintly with a positive glint in her eyes. She finds very enthusiastic now even though she has been awake the whole night. Her face looked dull due to the exhaustion but her eyes were contrasting the dullness.

It looked as if she suddenly become alive. Like she suddenly found a meaning of her life.

'I am selfish. I choose this way completely for my own well being. But this is my life. What's the use of even being alive when you have to chain yourself to fate? If a Curse tries to hold me from live, now I found a way to break it!'.

FOOTSTEPS

Maya hears footsteps outside her chamber and runs to the run eagerly "I have many things to learn…About this country…about my future path…".

Maya opens the door before the door is knocked. She frowns as her happy soul is welcomed by the worried face of Sarah.

"Something bad has happened!".

Maya frowns "What?".

Sarah speaks "Forgive this servant Ma'am! The children of that woman are in danger!".

Maya swears in her heart instead of getting shocked. She looks it as a great opportunity that came itself in her way.

'I would not let this opportunity to get away from my hands! I would save them even from the grips of The Lord of Death!'.

She looks solemnly at Sarah "Explain!".

Sarah nods "The Imperial Court of the Northern Country issued a decree to hand the children to them. They would be here in few hours to take them Ma'am. I fear once they leave this place we can't save the children anymore".
