The falling buildings didn't even cause them to be crushed. Their bodies seemingly were resistant to any kind of pressure.

Emma Thompson finally smiled. "Their eyes and their mouth. We can kill them like that. That skin will be perfect for new gear. Look, nothing can harm it, but it's not hard. If we could make special gear from it, not even those with sharp nails could harm you. And I could send you finally to bring those people from upper shelter here."

She didn't mind evolved animals as they trampled in zombies whenever they saw them. But these creatures are so strong and could cause the few survivors to die as well.
