The Apocalyptic Mother And Her Struggles

Sorry. I had a situation at home so I stopped writing for a bit. :) I'll continue now again.

Mario didn't know what was going on when he met suddenly Oliver in the elevator. Strangely, only the two of them were in that thing going deeper down. Oliver looked at him and saw his whole hair almost standing straight up like he was shocked by electricity.

''What's wrong with you?'' Oliver looked in wonder at strangely looking Mario.

''I have no idea what is wrong. I just had a weird feeling pass me for a second and now it passed. By the way, are we going deeper?'' The numbers stopped by the 9th level but they could feel that they went deeper down. Much deeper than they expected.

Fifteen minutes later the door opened and enormous space opened up. Looking at the space under the earth the two men gasped. ''What is this?''

Suddenly they saw Emma and Aisa standing there and staring at them seriously. Mario wanted to rush to them but then realized its just projection. Somehow deep in his heart, he felt his heart squeeze as he saw coldness seeping from Emma's eyes. This time he really needs to talk to her, but will she listen?

It didn't look so as the door behind them closed and they hear her voice. ''This floor is something I wanted to keep secret. When I bought this place I knew that this must have been bigger. But strange;y only upper ten floors were open. It took me quite a while to redo codes and when I finally entered mainframe on our computer I realized that this place is just a tiny part of what is going on under my feet.''

Suddenly instead of the huge map was produced and on the map, their ten levels looked amazingly tiny.

Mario and Oliver were stunned. ''What is going on here?''

Emma chuckled evilly. ''They seem to have forgot how I earned my money? I was a billionaire but never cared much about money as I usually spent a lot of it on good causes. These people thought I wouldn't notice the difference. After reprograming the mainframe I have full access to all information. And the real rats in my lair.''

She showed hundreds of people stuck in something like office and being panicked. Her voice seeped of coldness. ''They made this place themselves and know that they can't escape. Now, that is not the most important thing...''

The mainframe ent to the rest of the places. ''People could have been saved. So many people. We have tens of thousands of people at our levels. And it can accommodate hundreds of thousands. But here literally at least millions could survive. They didn't even try to save anyone. All these places... After a while, I will ask other shelters do they want to come to me. We do have enough space now. But I have no idea how to plant world, the animal world and zombies will change after their stupid blast. I am seriously worried.''

Mario shook his head. ''It will be hard now to predict. We can help them when radiation goes a bit down. But it will still take a few years until then. They hit them before on other continent and virus changed for worse, I fear the virus now...''

''I understand. I sent you two down for another reason. People inside those offices are the rats sent by the government. You two need to handle that case. What will you do and how will be the verdict, it has nothing to do with me.'' Her voice was tired. ''I need some sleep now. After you chose what will be their fate, just enter the elevator and it will take you normally up. From now on not even two of you can go down without my permission.''

Oliver sighed while looking at frozen Mario. ''Are you angry?''

''Yes. And for now, I have no wish to talk to neither one of you. Literally. Please speak only about work with me. For anything else, I have no wish to chat, understood?'' Her voice was resolute.

Mario nodded with stills tiff expression while Oliver answered. ''We understand. But we really need to talk about your past. It is time.''

''If it was not important enough to tell me so far, then it can wait that you tell me later. Enough. I need to sleep. The two of you are now officially main commanders. You will get permission for most decisions. But I will still hold the power of final vote by important decisions. See you two in two-three days.'' Then she just turned off not even waiting for their response.

The sudden silence was quite scary. Such empty space and no sounds. Absolutely no sounds. Mario narrowed his eyes and got close to projection. ''Computer, show us a way to the offices.''

This time strange whisp appeared in front of them and they just followed it. When they came down they found electric cars. They sat down in one of them and followed the whisp. At least an hour later they stopped by on huge building and saw the doors opening.

As the door opened they could finally hear many voices. Suddenly a huge man in uniform stopped in front of them. ''Who are you? How did you enter? Sre you working against the government?''

Mario chuckled and then icily stared ta the man. ''This place belongs to the Aisin country territory. I am the main commander here. So tell me, what government are you talking about?''

The man froze and wanted to pull the gun out but suddenly fainted. Mario and Oliver looked at each other and then a young voice could b heard talking from the whisp. ''Mother told me to help you in need. I will just tase them into unconsciousness. That is the only thing I will do. If you want weapons you can take guns fro the soldier and there are weapons to your left side. I will open it.''

Under their surprised eyes, the benches opened up and were filled with all kinds of weapons inside. ''This place... They really have s many weapons?''

''This is nothing. They have more in the main base. Stupid enough not to use the main base. They didn't even save their soldiers. How stupid are those people? Just a few people in this building and that's it. The whole place and only about a thousand people inside it.'' The whisp went to the elevator and started going up. ''Most of them are working for government except few that work as maintenance. It seems hse wants me to send you to the main room.''

Mario was silent for a moment and then stared ta whisp. ''Your mother, is she ok?''

A sigh could be heard. ''I had so much hope you could become my father, but how comes such intelligent man with such high IQ had such low EQ. I have no idea did you ever dated before, but the way you handle mom, your chances of becoming my dad went from 100% to 60% after last time action. Too bad, it seems from now I can call you only Commander. That's it.''

His heart thumped as he finally realized the reality. He always thought that his good looks could swoon ladies. And it was true, by normal people. But Emma was different. She had physical wounds from her marriage and the more stupid things he did, the more she pulled back inside her shell and didn't want to let him get in. 60%...
