Tales Of Demons And Go...What Is This !

Chapter 11 - 11 Alchemy Exam (part 2)

Nie Lan was led to the examination waiting room and along the way she felt.a few glances from the apprentices and ignored them. Afterall, she has had these type of men flock around her and she is already somewhat immune to it all.

The instnt she stepped into the hall she felt a few curious gazes and also the same old l.u.s.tful ones. She decided to ignore it but to her dismay some people are just wolves and cannot hold themselves.

"Yo babe, what you here for? How about a night with me? I'll make it worth your time hehe"

An ignoramus decided to bother her so she just ignored her as such words were to be expected.

"Oi, bitch I was talking to you" he decided to go for a grab.

Nie Lan quickly sidestepped with graceful footwork dazing everyone as they saw a swan-like aura emenating from her, all except the man who was hitting on her as her actions only served as fuel to the ego of this man and in turn angered him more.

"You s.l.u.t I'll teach you!" he yelled as he made for another grab with his full strength.

Nie Lan felt that his strength was nearing silver rank which made her take this man somewhat seriously. She took a stance and just as his fist was 2 meters away from her she caught the fist, sidestepped and pulled the man in with a foot outstretched.

The man, lost in his rage, was confused as he felt off balance at first then tripped and finally crashed into the wall at full strength leaving his face bloodied as he scr.a.p.ed against it pretty hard.

He managed to get up but he was pale in complexion and he was sweating while taking deep breaths, one part anger one part injury.

He assumed it was a fluke so he quickly got back to his feet and ran towards Nie Lan for a second time only to be stopped by a voice.

"FELLOW ALCHEMIST, I IMPLORE YOU NOT TO MAKE A SCENE WITHIN OUR ALCHEMY A.S.SOCIATION! the booming voice was so loud that everyone clasped their ears while Nie Lan who saw the fluctuations of spiritual energy had already circulated hers to block out the sound.

An old man came in soon after and introduced himself.

"This old man is called Huyan Ming, I will be on of the judges for the examination." he said with a smile that wasn't a smile. Afterall, although recently the Alchemy Association is declining in recent times it is still one of the major powers in Glory City.

The man was unresolved as he had lost face to Nie Lan but in front of the Huyan family name he was nothing but an ant so he backed down muttering "Hmph, you're lucky..."

After this incident nothing special happened besides the constant staring that Nie Lan faced but she just released her icy aura which prevented the men from coming too close to her.

Soon she was called into a room, coincidentally the old man Huyan Ming and another examiner was the ones that were going to judge her.

"This first exam will be on your theoretical knowledge, we have composed a random assortment of 100 questions and of that you must answer 10 of them to an acceptable level. Any cheating will result in a ban from further examinations in the future so we hope you use your time wisely. You may begin!"

Nie Lan sat in her spot without touching the papers for one minute thus earning curious looks from the judges.

"Is something wrong?" Huyan Ming asked as she had left an impression since she was so young yet was able to fend off aomeone two ranks higher than her.

"May I ask for respected masters to pick some papers for me? Nie Lan asked as she was going to take the exam might as well impress her examiners to gain a foothold in the association.

"Hmm? Very well, I guess we could do so." And so, the two examiners randomly chose 5 papers each and handed it to Nie Lan.

Soon after receiving the papers Nie Lan's hands practically flew across the paper as she wrote. She noticed another thing from her writing that she had a very feminine style of writing with graceful words that would put calligraphy masters to shame. She attributed this to one of the many changes that her gender brought along with the age of her soul which enhanced her words with experience.

The examiners however were disappointed thinking that Nie Lan was just randomly writing things, this couldn't be helped because they saw her age as a restriction as they were afterall knowledgable about how difficult it was to become an alchemist as seen through their declining numbers.

They stood up and loomed over Nie Lan as they read the answers she put. The first paper they saw brought surprise but were acceptable because it could be a coincidence that she had the luck to know this topic.

However their view changed quickly, afterall the saying: Once is luck, twice is coincidence but three times is truth. And they saw it in this youth nt even 1/5th their age.

She soon finished all 10 papers which the examiners were holding but their minds were wandering as they had found some enlightenment in the words, although not enough to breakthrough to grandmaster alchemist, they still benefitted.

After the time it took for one incense stick to burn Nie Lan raised her eyebrow and asked as she thought they couldn't understand her writing which can be called near pinnacle work.

"Respected masters, is there a problem with my answers?"
