Surviving in my Own Unpublished Failed Novel

250 The War "Inside" [20] [The State of War]

War was something that could either arrive at any given moment, catching off-guard the targeted nation or could be declared first before it started. However, the current circumstances throughout the Orion Continent, and throughout one of the lands in the Vampire Lands, were brought by the former condition as the Vampire Race waged war unannounced against humanity and the Three-Way Alliance, as the spark of war had been lit, attacked the twelfth Vampire Clan named Rainfire Clan.

The bit of peace that the entire humanity possessed became slimmer than its previous state. The order had been in shambles, like a glass atop the tip of something then being shaken by an earthquake, which then caused it to fall and shattered. Even though the Orion Continent was far vaster, in terms of land area, than the twelve lands of the Vampires combined, and the attack of the Vampire Race was only directed to specific locations, the unrest it brought towards the Human Race was extreme, causing the establishments of player civilians to be temporarily closed, as well as those conglomerates related to the Obelisk Organization and other Player-Affiliated Corporations, which in return, caused their services to be greatly lessened. This affected the entire economy, with a decline in the slippery slope, in just a matter of days since the start of the unprecedented attack of the Vampire Race.

Every academy and training center was forced to close under the Obelisk Rule, causing the Student Exchange between races to seem to be nonexistent for the moment. In other words, it turned out to be useless, at least during this war.

Economical and educational matters aside, as the war raged on either side, the lives lost reached thousands of thousands.

In the Cemetery of Oblivion, together in the dim forest, the Moon siblings, Amelie Rose, and finally, Lunaria, or the Maid of the Moon, were running near the portal or the exit of the dungeon.

"What will happen to the ordinary monsters inhabiting this place after you leave?"

Taking their pace slow, Russell Moon asked in curiosity.

"Master, they're my summons, so they'll become one with me after leaving this temporary abode of mine. As for the greyish-white moon above, it'll disappear. To put it simply, everything here will be embedded in my soul and will strengthen me further outside. This dungeon will also be recreated by the last Close Mystery Tower, spawning ordinary monsters and a Boss Monster without much intelligence."

Freya Moon and Amelie Rose Merveil were just silent as they traversed the forest. The latter was being specially quiet because of the information she had learned from the mouth of Lunaria, which was then confirmed by the Moon siblings."

"I see. By the way, Lunaria, it seems you're aware of what's happening outside even though you're confined in this place. Was it because of the moon? Since there's not much time as some people might be already camping outside, I know that you know about my Inherent Powers, especially the Moon Eye that I possessed."

"...Yes, that's right, Master. To tell you the truth, that specific ability of mine came from yours. It was only modified to be added in my Eye of Oblivion temporarily until your return."

In a superficial sense, Russell Moon understood the words of Lunaria. However, in-depth, he's simply lost and couldn't comprehend it at all. He was filled with crucial information that seemed to be all the results of the past actions he had yet to remember.

"Hmm… Although its proficiency is currently low, I can utilize it to spy throughout the Eastern World and tell you everything about the current state of war from all sides; From the Project Black Veil, Han Jiho's circumstances, Leon von Obreyon's situation of being corrupted by that dragon, and anyone related to the book.

"If you are curious about how to handle the people waiting outside of this dungeon, I'll take care of them if you just say so, Master. In actuality, most of them weren't supposed to exist from the beginning, so it's alright to erase their existence. After all, as your maid for countless years, you're the only one who possesses the right to decide whether someone or something should exist or not.

"And… without even your response, I know that you'll spare these people because you are a loving Master, right…?"

For some reason, the Moon siblings and Amelie Rose, who was currently having a flood of thoughts in her head, felt chills spread across their bodies upon hearing the words of Lunaria, which she spoke in a manner with conviction to her role of being the Moon's servant.

Apart from that, Lunaria looked at her Master's right shoulder, where a purple mysterious egg, the size of an ostrich's, was floating. She then put on a genuine smile and an emotional yet subtle expression on her face. In other words, Lunaria was holding herself since the current situation was far more important.

"You are probably right, but I believe that you already know… That it also depends on the kinds of people we're going to face.

"Anyway, we should take at least a short break and camp near the dungeon's exit. Lunaria, please check the current situation happening throughout the continent, no… the entire Eastern World."

With a subservient smile, Lunaria bowed her head as she proceeded to utilize the Moon Eye, that's under the Eye of Oblivion for the moment. And unlike what "Players" experienced every time after activating a skill, the voice of the System, as well as the holographic screen did not appear on Lunaria's whitish eyes.

On the other hand, a large holographic screen was presented in front of the Moon siblings and Amelie Rose, which seemed familiar because it's somewhat similar to the one that could be seen on the last floor of the Tower of Growth, the Area of Fealty.

With Lunaria's help, they read the paragraphs that were digitally written.

"..."

There was so much information that the three of them felt their heads spinning. However, seeing the number of deaths that the war had caused, their expression turned gloomy.

Lunaria then spoke, although it might be harsh on her part, it still needed to be said.

"Master, according to the low proficiency of the Moon Eye, we can deduce that this information is tentative and the casualties inclined to rise. Then, after I return it to you and you recover its full function, we can see more accurate information."

"Alright. This is the reality of war. After all, even being innocent isn't a privilege to prevent death."

"Uh, Oppa. There's something I'm wondering about. It's the casualties from Alapeia or Cassiopeia's capital. It seems that the focus of the Vampires is towards that place."

As Lunaria had observed, in her free time that was almost endless previously, the state of human behavior, she knew the answer to Freya's curiosity. However, she let her Master make the response, who also knew the reasoning behind the Vampire's focus on Cassiopeia.

"It's the King of Cassiopeia. The Vampire Lords, especially those in the 3rd to 5th, is trying to shake the loyalty he has for his people. In other words, they probably are planning to bring the King of Cassiopeia to the Vampire's side. For what reasons, it's gathering confidential information that the Obelisk Organization only possessed."

Russell answered in a serious manner. Freya then replied anxiously.

"Wouldn't that endanger humanity, furthermore from its current state?"

"It will, but we have something to worry about other than that, which is a far more pressing matter."

Looking at Lunaria for a moment, she understood her Master's glance. Lunaria then looked to Amelie Rose, which was basically asking her to listen carefully.

"...We can stop it, but it's the will of the last Tower for it to open. If a crack was made in any part of the Black Veil, every race in the Eastern World will not have any rest."

Lunaria said in a low yet serious voice. Russell then finished what she meant to say.

"In other words, the 'war outside' will instantly begin.'
