Shiyu threw him to the ground. “You had better not play tricks or your entire clan’s business is doomed!”

“Cough, cough,” Jin Ming clutched his throat. Not taking her threats lying down, he said, “Why don’t you just kill me? In fact, you don’t wish to make things worse, right? Once the matter of you involving Spiritual Beasts in your business, the one who would suffer would be you.”

This is like reading the ‘Doomsday Book by Connie Willis’ all over again. I don’t care if it won the Hugo and Nebula awards, the characters in that book are too thick-headed for doctors, historians, and archaeologists!
