Chapter 1. [Episode 38]
“The Angel of Violence and the Hero of the Frozen Ice”

Lumiel reached the sky over Mildiana territory.

There were countless white-winged monsters there.

[…… angels, right?]

Although she flew in joyfully, Lumiel was a bit taken aback.

Why did her former brethren fly to Mildiana?

And why are they attacking humans and elves?

Just below, an elf who failed to escape is about to be pierced by a heavenly demon’s spear.

Lumiel wondered what to do, then fingered the black choker she wore around her neck.

[It’s been a while since we’ve been on the road, Grand Guignol.]

As soon as Lumiel’s words were muttered, the choker instantly changed form and became a black sword.

With that in hand, Lumiel landed with a storm.

It repelled the spear of the heavenly demon that was about to attack the elf. The impact alone shattered the spear with its sacred power.

[Hey, are you insane?]

Although slightly humanoid in shape, the white-winged figure was atypical.

It was not the same old compatriot. Still, she asked it to check to see if it still had any reason left.

[Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!]

It snarled, as if it could not be reasoned with, and extended its arm toward Lumiel.

The fallen angel immediately swings her sword and slaughters the deformed angel.

[It’s not rational and also weak. But I can certainly feel the divine spirit. …… I think it has something to do with the technique Beelzebub was talking about.]

Lumiel turned around. At any rate, she was about to ask the elf who was about to be attacked if she knew anything about it.

The elves had long since fled far away.

[Hey, ……! I just saved your ass! I’m so pissed!]

After swearing, Lumiel was surrounded by celestial demons.

Every one of them had madness in their eyes. Not only were they no longer sane, but even their appearance was disastrous.

[Hey, you guys. I don’t know what’s going on, but I’m a demon tribe now. If you are going to attack me, first be prepared to die…]

All at once, sword, spear, and tentacle attacks closed in on Lumiel.

She instantly reaped them. The weapon called the Grand Guignol in Lumiel’s hand had morphed into a giant whip.

The heavenly demons in the area were torn to shreds, engulfing a nearby building.

All of the dozens of heavenly demons had been shattered and the surrounding structures are destroyed without a trace.

Lumiel shouted as smoke billowed in the air.

[Hear me out!]

When she lost herself in anger and poked the ground with her foot with a thud, the heavenly demons gathered once again.

Lumiel had a blue streak on her forehead.

[Oh, so you’re going to do it with me? Are you going to do whatever it takes? Then I won’t help you if you beg for your life later.]

Lumiel jumped up into the air.

Explosive magic erupts from her body.

It instantly created a technique and caused a huge explosion in the surrounding area.

The heavenly demons, which should have numbered close to a hundred, had vanished without a trace.

Lumiel says this in a voice that seems to show no sign of fatigue after using a higher-level forbidden technique.

[If you want to complain, tell it to the Great Goddess of Creation after you’re dead, you barbarian!]

Her words only echoed in the sky.

There are no more heavenly demons around.

Lumiel, who was not particularly aware of this at the time, saved an area that was about to be destroyed because of a delayed military dispatch in less than a minute, but of course, she was not aware of such a situation.

[Hah …… already, where’s Darling? I think he’s around here somewhere.]

At that moment, Lumiel’s intuition kicked in.

She can feel the slightest sign of her beloved Demon Lord.

[Mmmm, that way~! Wait for me, Darling! Don’t think you can get away with neglecting your first wife for over a month! I’m going to catch you and violate you to pieces for sure!]

Shouting something very unlike a former angel, Lumiel flew off in that direction.

[Lieutenant General Lambert!]

Nia, an elf woman who normally serves as the librarian at the Great Library of the Mildiana Domain, ran up to the half-elf.

Ludio Lambert stands in front of the main gate of the military.

When he reached near, Nia gasped as she felt the tremendous magic power that clothed the icy atmosphere flood from his body.

‘This is much stronger than the magic I felt when I fought …… Zenan!’

Nia is a retired military officer. Her rank at the time was Lieutenant Colonel.

Wounded in a previous battle with the Zenan Dragon Kingdom, she retired from military service and now lives quietly as a librarian.

In reality, however, she and Ludio were still in communication through detailed correspondence.

Today, she gave up her role as a librarian earlier in the day and commanded those in the military, as she did back then.

She disciplined them, who were suddenly out of control, and managed to intercept the heavenly demons, protect the civilians, and rushed to Ludio when she saw an opening.

Ludio was whispering something.

She has no idea what language it is. But it was probably chanting. He kept doing it in a whispering voice.

The icy magic in his body increases even more.

In normal times, the High School of Magic would always have a sealing technique in effect to prohibit the use of more than the forbidden arts, but for some reason, it does not seem to be having any effect on him at the moment.

The original Ludio is capable of performing even the forbidden arts without chanting.

What exactly is this technique that requires him to spend so much time chanting?

He continued chanting with his eyelids closed as if he was unaware that he was now in front of her, but his eyes slowly opened and he turned to her. She realized that he was silently telling her to inform him of the situation, and she immediately reported it to him.

[The raids are now concentrated in the central area. Next, the southern and western districts are engaged in warfare respectively, but dozens of casualties have already been suffered. Only the eastern district has hardly been engulfed by warfare, and its residents are …… huh!]

Before long, dozens of celestial demons flew in to surround Nia and Ludio.

Nia was Ludio’s right-hand man when she was a colonel. Naturally, she knew about the lore of the heavenly demons.

But when she confronted them like this, she couldn’t stop shaking. She almost stopped breathing just thinking about being eaten alive by these deadly white-winged monsters.

[Li.. Lieutenant Lambert…..]

Her tongue does not roll well.

It took at least five soldiers specializing in magic to defeat even one of them. Now they are surrounded by an army of close to a hundred.

This is it. Nia is overcome with a sense of despair. She and the lieutenant general are all going to die.

The demons pounced on them as if to show them.

Nia was so terrified that she burst into tears and sat there.

She crouched with her head in her hands, imagining the moment when the monsters would dismember her.

-it was a sudden event.

She felt a fierce chill as if she were in the middle of an extreme cold, and she was ready to die – but nothing happened.

Nia held her arms and gently opened her eyes to check her surroundings.

Everything in the military was frozen.

The ice protruding from the ground was like a thick spear, piercing through the body of the heavenly demon and freezing it in place.

All of the celestial demons, numbering close to a hundred, are skewered by ice that penetrates their strong magical resistance, icing their entire bodies.

Ludio, standing in front of her, was expressionless. Before she knew it, he had stopped his chanting, which had been whispered in a whisper.

He said’

[Keep going.]

[Is …… …… e ……?]

Ludio stared at her as if nothing had happened.

It was different from his usually calm expression. It was a truly icy expression that made her feel no emotion.

Nia, realizing the significance of his words, rushed to her feet and resumed explaining the situation in the military and the city.

Ludio listened to her silently and nodded his head. And.

Pow! and clapped his hands.

At the same moment, the countless ice blocks that had been ejected from the ground and the frozen celestial demons that had been pierced by them were shattered in an instant.

The shards of ice sparkle and fall around Lieutenant General Ludio Lambert.

[Now, I know it’s getting late, but I’m going to take command from now on. If you are still willing to fight, then follow me.]

The technique he used is forbidden. She doesn’t know the ladder. However, it was probably very close to the higher levels of the forbidden arts.

He handled it without any chanting or preliminary movements and showed no sign of caring at all.

Then the chanting now is ….…

Ludio walked away without even looking at her.

Seeing his distant back, Nia followed with a stunned look on her face.

[…… This is the hero. This is Lieutenant General Ludio Lambert. A man of elven blood, skilled in offensive techniques, who has risen to the rank of a general officer.]

He is the most powerful magician in the empire who slaughtered many dragon tribes in the great wars of the past.

He is said to have changed even the terrain with magic that surpassed many forbidden arts, and he is a genius who has been called alongside the great heroes of the past.

Once again, Nia deeply chewed on the feat of a man who could be described as an anomaly.
