Received the order from Andrew to burn the dry woods, the goblins that hold the torches throw their torches to the dry woods. Fire immediately engulfed the dry woods, dried leaves and all papavers poured in the dry wood stacks, creating thick smokes which drifted into the caves. With the wind assisting Andrew's side by blowing into cave directions, the plan starts smoothly.

If only ordinary smoke which flowed into the cave, the effect only to make the wolves inside the cave getting suffocated. Once they leave the cave and breathing fresh air, the effect will go. That's why Andrew adds the papaver into the dry wood stacks. Papaver is a plant that cultivated and the flower (poppy flower) harvested by taking its sap to make morphine or opium. It's an anesthetic medicine that already used from ancient time in the earth. When opium is smoked, the chemicals enter the lungs and are then dispersed through the blood and make their way into all other organs of the body. The eyes become pinpoints and breathing slows down. The user will experience a rush of p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e that is immediately followed by a relaxed state.

Andrew's plan starts working when the wolves inside the cave awaken due to the smokes mixed with opium which filled the caves. They walk out from the inner part of the cave into the cave entrance and try to search for fresh air. When the first flock of wolves comes out from the cave, Andrew immediately orders the first goblin squad to throw their spears into the wolf flock.

"They come!! Hurry! The first group, start throws the spears to them!"

Andrew divides the first squad into two groups and orders them to take a turn when throwing the bamboo spears. Each goblin in the first squad carries two bamboo spears in their hands, this will make the first squad able to make four sorties of bamboo spears. The first squad consists of two dozen goblins and each group will consist of a dozen goblins.

First squad first group of goblin immediately execute Andrew's order by throwing their bamboo spear toward the wolf flock. After throwing the spears, they withdraw to give the second group to do their task.

"Second group, advance, and attack!"

The second group does as Andrew ordered just like the first group did. Another dozen of bamboo spears is thrown into the wolves flock direction. The first and second sortie of bamboo spears attack managed to wound some wolves that come out from the cave.

It's a good plan which Andrew designed and executed splendidly by his subordinates. But even the best-laid plan also has its flaw. First, Andrew didn't know exactly the number of wolves inside the cave. Because of that, when then the second group finished their spear throwing, the wolves still coming out from the cave. Second, Andrew forgets that goblin is a weak creature from the beginning. If a goblin fights a human a.d.u.l.t with each other using a wooden stick, the human a.d.u.l.t can easily beat the goblin. The goblins were only able to defeat a human a.d.u.l.t by use their advantage numbers. This difference in strength caused even though the bamboo spears attack is able to make the wolves injured but not a single wolf dies during the assault. The wolf howling to express their rage because the wounds that inflicted by the goblin in the first assault, which makes all the wolves come out from the cave and full-scale battle is imminent.

Thanks to the smoke which created before, the wolves lose their superiority in sensing the goblin smell by their sharp nose. The smoke also hindered their vision to see their enemies. The papaver contains opium substance also bring them into drowsiness effect. The standoff between goblin and wolves is still in the balance since both sides still not losing a single member. One by one, the wolves jump out from the fire encirclement which blocked the cave entrance in the place where the fire is not too dense.

"Retreat!! Lure the wolves in second squad direction then join with the third squad!!"

Although no wolves have died during the first assault, Andrew still keeps his calmness. With the effect from the opium smoke, at least the wolves can't fight in their best performance. There's still hope with the next ambush using the net from second squad.
