Yue Wan sat before the dressing table with a comb and an unfocused gaze. She has been in that position for the last 5-minutes.

Her body felt heavy. She thought that everything would have changed after her rebirth, but somethings could not be altered.

She touched her stomach with a vacant stare, looking down, her hair surrounded her face like a curtain.

'Will I be able to have my child back?'

'Knoc...Knock,' Her door was knocked upon softly.

"Little Wan, are you still awake?"

Yue Yeager opened the door and poked his head in, looking at her with a dimpled smile.

Seeing her dad's face, she nodded her head as a response.

"Have some hot milk before bed, Little Wan."

Yue Yeager placed the big cup in her hands and smiled warmly.

"Thanks, Daddy."

Although, Yue Wan masked her depression with forced a smile, her eyes expressed her gloominess.

Like needles stabbing in his heart, Yue Yeager frowned when he saw her beloved princess. He wanted to say something, anything to comfort her, but no words came out.

"Daddy, what was Mom like?"

Yue Wan never asked about her Mother, either in her past life or this one. She had never mentioned her mother before father and just used to sneak around to get information about her mother.

Most of the time, Uncle Wang narrated her love stories about a powerful couple of the Yue family.

"She shone brightly in the night like a star. No one dared to approach her, yet I did."

"It's love at first sight."

"From my point of view, yes. I loved her fearless character. But on her side, at that time, she already had a fiance."

"Had?"

"Yes, but the person she was supposed to marry turned his back on her and humiliated her during their engagement. He had found a lover that was the daughter of a powerful family and refused to give his lover up."

"So, she was cheated on." Yue Wan thought out loud.

Yue Yeager's lip curved up into a smile with fondness over the memories. Tilting his head to the side, he corrected her words.

"He was cheated."

Yue Wan knitted her eyebrows in bewilderment, "What do you mean, daddy?"

Yue Yeager picked up the empty glass from her and gazed at Yue Wan's golden pupils. They reminded him so much of the cold stare he received from his wife when he bluntly proposed her right after her broken engagement.

"Your mother might look weak, but she is the world's biggest villain. From where did you think your brother got this personality? It all thanks to your mother. Her character rubbed off onto him... Huff... Always bullying me."

Yue Yeager felt a bad vibe thinking about his stinky brat.

Yue Wan broke out into a cold sweat, 'I agree with that.'

"Tell me about your first meeting?" Yue Wan gossiped with sparkling eyes.

Yue Yeager snickered recalling the first meeting he had with his beloved Foxy Wife.

"I met her on that day when she was rejected by her fiance. That man thought he could break your mother by cancelling their engagement in front of everyone ..... "

He halted for a short time, then with an adoring gaze he resumed, "But my wife, with a naughty smirk, jumped in the air, and spun into an impressive spinning back kick, catching that man right in the face."

Yue Wan blinked her round eyes in unbelief, "Mom did that?!!"

"HaHaHa... Yes, It was hilarious," drumming his fingers on the rim of the glass in his grasp, Yue Yeager grinned with a blush.

"...After that?" (Yue Wan)

Holding head high, with a face-widen smile, he clucked, "A thought clicks totally into me. What if I tame that ferocious woman. So I devised a plan to make her fall in my charm."

Yue Wan's eyes glowed with enlightenment and curiously asked more.

"Then, what happened?"

Yue Wan was enjoying listen to her father's love experience until one loud, obnoxious voice cuts in on their conversation.

"He failed in that very shamelessly."

Yue Wan looked at her father's back and exclaimed in a lively voice, "Big Brother!"

Yue Yeager grumbled in huffy, with his lips pressed together and a rigid grimace. "Always meddling in my story."

He wasn't outright angry, irritated might be a better word to describe his reaction.

Yue Xiang didn't mind his father's antics, standing before Little Wan, he queried, "I will be taking you somewhere tomorrow, so be ready by morning."

"Where are we going?"

"To my Teacher's home, I want to introduce you to someone."

"I object!" Yue Yeager's abrasive voice protested.

But, those two ousted his presence altogether. As usual, being ignored made Yue Yeager growl in rage, first, he kicked up a fuss then he sulked in the corner while holding his wife pic and lamenting an extensive list of accusations.

However, Those two didn't bat their at him...and proceeded the chat with a face, 'We used to his imm.a.t.u.r.e behavior. It's nothing new for us.'

"Okay, can I bring Little Bao. I need to purchase his supplies. " Yue Wan's honeyed voice requested adorably.

Yue Yeager jumped behind them while waving his hand, "Take me too."

He even emerged before Little Wan with a puppy dog face, "Daddy wants to go outing too."

But he got kicked aside by that stinky boy Yue Xiang. (dramatically)

"No problem. I will accompany you to the new grooming shop. Also, there a pet cli..."

Yue Wan covered her brother's mouth and carefully gazed left and right, holding her breath.

After seeing no sign, she exhaled, "Thank goodness, He is not here."

C.o.c.king the head, Yue Xiang mouthed, 'Who?'

She exhorted in a whisper. "Little Bao is s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e to the word clinic, shhhh."

She placed her finger on her lips to be silence. Last time when she casually told that he needed a check-up, he fled with a face full of disapproval.

Yue Xiang rolled his eyes in an erratic movement. And sneered, "No wonder, he keeps up those filthy tricks and attitude. Just to hide his fear."

Yue Wan pouted her lip in disp.l.e.a.s.u.r.e. Fiddling with a strand of hair, she rationalized softly, "He is still a baby."

Yue Xiang gave up arguing for that damn brat, he grabbed his Father's collar and thrust him out of the room.

"It's too late, you can continue your tragic love adventure later."

"But, I'm not sleepy. Let me chat for some more time..."

Yue Xiang gave him a devilish smile, "Should I sing a lullaby for you to sleep."

Like a bucket of cold water poured on his body, Yue Yeager shivered in fear, "No thanks."

Before closing the door, Yue Xiang stated, "Night, Little Wan."

Yue Yeager's whining voice apprehended behind with protest, "Let me go, I ..."

"I can help you to sleep." (Yue Xiang)

"You stinky brat, Please let your poor father go...." Yue Yeager was confused about whether to beg or demand.

"Negative, you are sleeping with me..." (Yue Xiang)

"Noooo..." (Yue-Yeager)

Soon the voice disappeared, Yue Wan gestured her head with a worn-out sign, "Mom, How did you manage to fall for daddy?"
