PS I'm Over You

Chapter 95 - The Murder in Bright Azalea Mansion

"A week of vacation with his grandmother, I hope Skyler would enjoy his stay with your mom," Ririna muttered as Jonathan parked their car behind a luxurious car on Bright Azalea Mansion which the Jiang family owns. She could hear the screaming and arguments from the outside. They just arrived and this is how the Jiang family welcomes them?

"Mother will spoil him for sure. While you were asleep, we couldn't even take him away from her," her husband replied. Eli was busy checking some reports he received from Aoi's team earlier. Aoi's team should be back at the New Global City before he and Ririna leave Eastern Provinces a week from now.

Ririna snickered beside him. Skyler surely does know how to charm people around him. She took her sunglasses from her coat and wore them to protect her eyes from the bright glare outside. Bright Azalea, a very suitable name for this place.

Eli turned off his laptop and put away the reports before he climbed out of the car with Ririna following him.

Four men and two middle-aged women dressed in a dark suit stood on the opposite side of their car, busy arguing with each other. It didn't take long for them to notice the couple's presence. A brunette hair woman was busy pointing out and reasoning to one of the men who appeared restless while the other woman was busy talking on her phone as if she was hissing on her receiver.

Ririna looked around and saw two men walking towards them. One of them was familiar to her. She was quite sure she had met him before. The other one had an athletic built and tanned skin. Ririna finally remembered who he was. Christian Jiang was the Third Master of the Jiang family.

"Gamaliel Park," he greeted Eli before turning to Ririna, "I see that the rumors are true. You have captured the witch once again."

"Ririna Han, it's nice to see you again. Are you planning to run away or are you going back into action again?"

He started to light his cigarette but his assistant stopped him, reminding him that he wasn't allowed to smoke while they're within the mansion's premises. Christian nodded and pointed for Eli and Ririna to follow him.

"We're here to see if your family could resolve your internal issues. We, the Park family are only to observe but if you try to do some funny business, you know we won't stay neutral for long." Ririna replied.

"You just arrived in time. Someone has called and informed us that the Young Master and his fiancee were found dead in the woods nearby. They were missing for more than a week now until we received that horrible news," Christian explained, a grimace distorting his handsome features.

Great. They just arrived and there's already a murder that took place at Bright Azalea Mansion.

He lead them with Eli's first team closely following behind them. Eli has assigned to bring two teams this time. One was for their protection, and the other was for surveillance and data gathering.

It has been three days since the bounty hunting started but Ririna hasn't received any twenty-four hours warning. It seemed that Eli's counter-attack was quite effective.

Eli hired someone to put up another website with the same challenge for the other assassins. He tripled the amount of bounty on Hiro Liu's head. He wanted the other successor dead. This way the attention was swiftly shifted to Hiro Liu but again, Eli knew the peaceful days will be over soon.

Ririna folded her long sleeve up to her arms before taking an insect repellent patch from her pocket. She inwardly smiled as she saw the cute animal design on it. Skyler must have switched their patches.

"What so funny?" Eli whispered to her before his eyes landed on Skyler's patch on Ririna's blouse. His lips curled into a small smile before shaking his head.

They had to work their way through the woods because it was dense and they had a hard time finding a trail to follow. It took them more than five minutes before they arrived on the crime scene. Ririna could smell the scent of death around them.

Two bodies with ropes on their necks were hanging on a high branch of a tree. Christian shook his head. It was clear to see that the Young Master and the woman had been dead for days before their bodies were hung to be displayed.

One of the senior members of the Jiang family approached them while wiping his face. He was tall but a little thin, and his thick dark locks were highlighted with some greyish strands.

"This doesn't look normal. If they have been dead for days, why are there bodies rotting so soon?" The man said before motioning his head to the direction of the dead bodies.

Eli said nothing but walked near the crime scene and checked the dead bodies. Ririna followed him and noticed the horrid look that the corpses had. Their eyes were missing in their eye sockets, and their necks seemed stretched to an unbelievable length. The skin was darkened and starting to decay with some of their bones peeking out from their rotting flesh.

The stench and the horrid look could make any ordinary man vomit in disgust. The crime wasn't for the weak hearted.

Ririna also noticed that the head of the woman was almost detached from its body. If someone or something disturbed its delicate figure, the head will sure roll off to the ground.

Eli watched with interest. Someone has really killed the Young Master. This was big news that will surely put a lot of strain within the Jiang family. To him, this was also a clear warning that this wouldn't be the last tragedy that may happen.

He looked at his wife, seeing her brighten up while checking out the dead bodies. His wife was surely one of a kind. The technicalities and process that took place after death piqued her interest.

Ririna stood beside Eli and they waited for the Jiang family's next action. She could see from their face that they weren't happy about this, not with her and Eli observing their family.

"What do you think?" Christian Jiang asked them with his gaze back on the scene.

"The weather affected their decomposing state. The dry air aided the process but this is natural." Ririna commented.

"What? This is natural?" Christian exclaimed.

"You seemed surprised. This isn't so like you. Haven't seen enough dead bodies in your lifetime?" Ririna laughed, and she gestured toward the victims that hadn't been removed from their hanging.

Their attention went back to the corpses. Not many maggots can be seen on the bodies but then Ririna didn't expect that there would be more. She also noticed the dripping body fluids from them. If no one had found the bodies earlier, they might have discovered headless corpses soon.

"This is disgusting. Why aren't you doing anything?!" A woman voice could be heard. She arrived with the other members of the Jiang family.

"Michelle," Christian called out for her attention. The woman in professional looking dress frowned back at him.

"Who killed my younger brother?" Michelle Jiang asked.

"Big Miss, we don't know yet. We just found out their bodies this morning." Christian's assistant replied.

"Useless bastards!" she screamed before leaving the scene. Christian winced at the sound. Michelle couldn't take the stench of the dead bodies around the area.

"That's my half-sister, Michelle Jiang. She's the Big Miss of the family. She just arrived from abroad when our father died." Christian explained to Ririna and Eli. He was tempted to light up another cigarette and then decided not to.

"Why are their necks so long?" Christian asked Eli who was silently watching around them.

The necks of the corpses were too long, and their feet were still at least five feet high from the ground.

"Gravity and the humid air. Same with their decomposition state, it helps stretches their necks. Their tissues and flesh can also easily rip apart because of it." Eli answered. He wondered how the proprietors managed to hang the bodies with their current state. They can't possibly drag the bodies here without leaving a trace.

The killers must know the place well for them to hide and hang the bodies without anyone suspecting them.

"Have you seen any marks? They must have used a vehicle to bring the bodies here," Ririna asked, fully aware of what her husband was thinking. Even in this remote area, it wasn't easy to come by and hang dead bodies without using something.

Christian looked at the ground as if trying to find if there were tracks hidden under the bushes.

He turned to his assistant and asked him to survey the whole area and try to find evidence or tracks that the killers might have left.

"Who found these bodies?" Eli's cold voice surprised Christian.

"It was the Young Master's men who found them. I'm not sure about the specifics though."

Eli stared at Christian Jiang. He noticed how this man can be so careless and be a happy go lucky. Not very ideal as the next head of the family. They must settle this issue soon before they attract more problems while helping the Jiangs.

Before he could discuss what their next plan, the body of the dead woman fell to the ground. The skin on its neck ripped just like what Eli said earlier. The head bounced and rolled away from the body, a piece of flesh attached to the part where it disconnected from the neck.

"Holy shit!" One of the Jiang's family member exclaimed, and jumped back when the head rolled to where he stood.
