PS I'm Over You

It's already past five in the afternoon when Eli and Sky arrived at Ririna's manor. As soon as Eli parked his car properly, Skyler removed his seatbelt and jumped out from his seat. Eli chuckled at his son's excitement to see his mother. Since the incident, Skyler could only see Ririna after school hours and Eli's work. Most of the time, he stays with his grandpa and Uncle Evan.

"Daddy! Come on! Mommy is waiting." Skyler exclaimed as he walked ahead of his father. Eli followed closely behind him.

"Be careful, Sky. You might hurt yourself," Eli called.

When they slipped inside the manor, Skyler noticed some huge boxes stacked in their living room area. Eli had asked someone to prepare the medical apparatus in Ririna's room. With Ginny's help, it was easy for them to find some professional nurses and doctors that could check on Ririna's condition twenty-four seven.

"Is it prepared already, daddy?"

"Why don't you see it for yourself?"

Skyler threw his backpack on the couch and ran upstairs to check his mommy's room. There are still some people working in the room, assembling the apparatus and listing all the things that are needed to keep it working properly.

"Sky, why don't you change your clothes and take a quick snack first? It's almost done and your mommy and Auntie Ginny will be arriving soon." Eli told Skyler when he stood behind the kid who was busy checking out the room.

"Really?" Skyler's eyes widened and he jumped in excitement.

"Yes. Now go and prepare yourself. I will call you once they arrive."

"Okay, daddy." Skyler grinned and walked towards his room with a maid following him to assist him if he needs some help.

Another hour passed when Evan's car arrived in front of the manor followed by a private ambulance. Ginny assisted the nurses to move the still unconscious Ririna to her own room. She was so focused and excited that Evan couldn't even talk to her to calm her down.

Skyler quickly stuffed his muffin on his mouth and drank his orange juice when he heard the commotion outside. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and jumped from the stool.

He ran outside and stood beside his father watching as Ginny directed the medical staffs to make sure her oxygen is on the right level.

He stayed silent until they were finished with their job. Skyler clutched his father's pants and looked up to him. Eli turned his attention to his son and picked him up as they followed the medical staff in Ririna's room.

Once everything was in place and Ririna was safely moved into her queen size bed. Evan and Ginny pulled Eli in the corner to remind everything he must know about Ririna's condition. Her wounds are slower to heal compared to other people as if something on her blood refused to repair the tissues on her injured organs.

Skyler crawled into his mother's bed and stared at her face. Her nose and mouth covered with masks to help her breathe easier. He could see that she's fairing better now, some colors are returning to her pale skin although her lips are dry.

The little kid snuggles himself beside his sleeping mother and sighed. He's also tired from all the activities they have done earlier. Soon, he succ.u.mbs into his sleep, lulled by the beeping sound beside the bed and by his mother's unique scent.

When Eli noticed his child taking a nap beside Ririna, he motioned Evan and Ginny to follow him down the stairs to continue their conversation. The staff from the hospital left as soon as they were done.

"Are you sure this is okay?" Ginny asked. She is still worried about her friend's health condition and didn't think it is a good idea to take her home than stay in the hospital.

"Don't worry about it, Gin. I'm sure Eli can provide the best healthcare assistance that she needed." Evan yawned before walking outside the manor. He is done with his responsibilities for now. If it isn't because of their father's insistence and Skyler, Evan wouldn't dare to help his older brother.

Skyler turned to his right and stretched both of his arms on the bed, pulling the white sheets beneath him. He yawned and rubbed his eyes. Looking around him he noticed that it is already dark outside. For how long did he nap? He raised his upper torso from the bed and turned to his mother.

"Hi, mommy. I'm sorry I overslept. Aren't you going to wake up too, mommy?" he asked but she never replied. Skyler became sad from the absence of his mother's smile and reaction. Usually, when he woke up, his mommy will pretend to sleep and attack him with tickles by tricking him.

Skyler kissed his mommy's forehead before saying...

"I love you, mommy. Daddy and I miss you so much," he whispered. "Please wake up, mommy. I have so many stories to tell you. I promised you won't get bored."

He paused for a while and looked down.

"I'm a good boy to daddy, mommy. I tried to behave while he's busy. Mommy, he misses you too. Please come back to us." He laid his head on his mother's shoulder as he tried to remember her usual reaction and habits. He stayed on that position for a little while before his stomach grumbled from hunger.

Skyler slipped out of the bed and the room then walked towards the kitchen. He's really hungry and thirsty now. Without looking back, the little boy didn't notice that his mother's fingers twitched after he left.

When he arrived at the living room that is next to their kitchen, Skyler saw his daddy talking to a very beautiful woman who sat elegantly on their couch. Her chin rested on her hand as she paid attention to what his father was telling her. Her eyes then turned to the little boy. A grin formed on her lips as she stood up from her seat and turned her attention to Skyler.

"Is this Skyler? My, my. What a beautiful child you have here, Eli." the woman commented.

Skyler blinked in reply before he ran towards his father and hid behind his legs. He peered from behind and wondered who the woman is. She looked a lot like his daddy. He wondered if she is daddy's older sister but then he remembered that Uncle Evan said his daddy is the eldest son and the younger brother that followed his daddy was already dead. So who is this woman?

"Hello, Skyler. I'm your grandma. You can call me Mama Yuna." the woman laughed at her grandson's reaction.
