PS I'm Over You

Skyler sat alone in his seat with Jiro beside him. The duo still stays with each other as Sky is always worried that his best friend will get sick again. Jiro hasn't recovered completely. There are times he will get a high fever unexpectedly. His mother is getting worried that the drug that was used on him was potent enough to weaken his immune system.

"Why aren't you eating your lunch?" Jiro asked, his brows furrowed.

Skyler looked at his lunch on the table and started unpacking it. The other children spoke quietly around them whispering something about Skyler changing his last name into Park. Eli has completed the procedure and has already added Sky on his family registry as his son.

A long sigh passed from the lips of the little boy. Today is Father's day but his mommy is still in the hospital unresponsive and he knew although his father doesn't tell him anything about it, that his mommy is getting worse by each passing day His classmates are also nitpicking him for his new surname and keep asking if his daddy will arrive today.

He wondered if he should've called his Uncle Evan or Uncle Rion to accompany him today. His daddy is so busy lately and he couldn't ask him to come over for their school activity today.

"I miss my mommy," Sky told Jiro who has already started munching on his ham sandwich.

"Hmm… but Auntie Ririna is strong. My mommy said she will wake up soon if you keep on praying and taking care of her." Jiro replied. He looked around noticing some of their classmates throwing odd looks at their direction. He couldn't understand why they keep picking a fight with Skyler. He is a good friend and he shares his foods and toys with him. Why couldn't they see it?

"I always talk to mommy. Daddy said I have to tell her whatever I have done for the day and to keep her company." Skyler said. He doesn't have an appetite to eat his lunch. He still misses his mommy and is wondering if his daddy remembers the school activity he mentioned last week.

After lunch ended, the parents of his classmates started coming into the classroom. Skyler felt sad and jealous as he saw how his classmates have their parents with them. He lowered his head trying not to cry as he thought about his mommy and daddy. Somehow he couldn't help but feel guilty for finding his daddy. Because of him, mommy was attacked by the bad guys.

"I don't believe his daddy will come today," one of the bullies commented as he talked with their other classmates.

"Yeah. Skyler is a liar. He never had a daddy in the first place. He couldn't even make his mom attend today." The other one whispered but was loud enough for Skyler and Jiro to hear them.

Jiro turned his head towards them and gritted his teeth. These guys are so mean.

"Stop it. Sky's mommy is in the hospital and his daddy is busy working. Only because you cannot see Sky's parents doesn't mean he doesn't have one." Jiro exclaimed. He stood up from his seat and his knees slightly wobbled as he leaned on his desk to support himself.

"Jiro. Stop. You're not feeling well." Skyler said as he helped Jiro to go back to his seat and ignore the mean looks of his classmates.

"But Sky! They always pick on you. They are so mean. I will tell my mommy to call Uncle Eli to come here for you."

"No, it's okay. Daddy is busy today. Uncle Evan said daddy will meet someone later."

He couldn't ask his daddy to reschedule his business meetings for him. Skyler thought he shouldn't give more problems since he already saw how his daddy looks tired since his mommy's accident. Daddy still works during the day, never leaving his mommy's side taking all the works with him.

They are already planning to move his mommy back at home. His grandpa suggested that it would be better for her to come home to make her recover faster instead of staying in the hospital. Skyler thought that it would be great since he doesn't have to go the hospital anymore to see his mommy.

Eli walked like a king in the busy hallways of Skyler's school. He didn't intend to forget about the father's day activity for today but as soon as he visited his wife at the hospital and saw Skyler's recent drawings left on her bedside table he remembered his promise. Peering into the window of Skyler's classroom, he saw many parents talking with their children while his own son sitting beside Jiro with a gloom on his face.

Did Skyler think he forgot about his promise that he will attend his father's day school activity? He saw several children giggling on the side while looking at Skyler's direction. So those are the little rats who keep bullying him. He will teach them a lesson not to mess up with the devil's spawn.

Eli entered the room and immediately all eyes were turned to him and voices were silenced. He wasn't wearing his usual business suit and has been swapped with casual light blue long sleeves which he lazily folded up to his elbows. His dress pants and black shoes are the usual ones he has. His usual hair that looks presentable looks a bit messy for today and made him resemble Skyler a lot. Overall, he looks like a regular dad visiting his son in his school.

Skyler perked up wondering why everyone is silent and then saw his daddy. His big gray eyes lit up when he saw him and he fought the urge to cry from happiness. He couldn't believe that his daddy remembered the day today. He grinned instead and waved excitedly to his father.

"Hi, daddy! Are you done with your work for today?" Skyler asked.

"Yes. Why are you sitting alone with Jiro ?"

Skyler frowned. He didn't want to tell his daddy he was being bullied by his schoolmates.

"I don't know, daddy. No matter what I do, everyone seems to avoid me…"

Eli shook his head and sighed. Children. What happened to parenting these days? Skyler shrugged his shoulders and looked down at his unfinished lunch. His father patted his head and ran his fingers through Skyler's thick dark locks. Kneeling down beside the small table, he looked at his son with the same eye level.

"Do you know that mommy is going home today?" Eli asked.

"Really, daddy?" Skyler's eyes lit up again. He couldn't wait to go home and see his mommy. He hopes she's feeling better now than yesterday.

"She is and I hope you could help daddy fix and design her room later. What do you think?"

"Great. I'm excited to see mommy."

"Now, why don't you finish your lunch? Or do you want me to find another meal if you didn't like it?"

Skyler bit his sandwich before shaking his head. He suddenly felt very hungry now. Maybe it's a good thing that his daddy showed up today.

"No. I like it, daddy. Thank you, daddy, for coming today." Skyler grinned before hugging his daddy's arm.

Eli smiled inwardly before looking down at his son and returning his embrace. Despite having known Skyler as his son for almost a month, he couldn't imagine a day where he couldn't see Skyler's smiling face now. The mere thought of someone trying to hurt his child made his blood boil with rage. He needs to find out the root of these problems soon.

He wouldn't stop until the bastard pays for trying to kidnap his child and kill his wife. After he made sure that both mother and son are safe and secure within their household, he will start his next mission to gather all the secret information about Hattori and his successors.
