PS I'm Over You

Skyler held his mommy's hand. It is still soft but isn't as warm as he could remember. His Uncle Evan told him that mommy got into an accident but he overheard his uncle and his grandpa that some bad guys had attacked him mommy. Was it because he found his daddy? Was this what his mommy meant when she said bad guys will come after them?

His small body curled beside Ririna as he cried for her, whispering words to her to wake up. If he had known this would happen to his mommy, he would have listened and wouldn't find his daddy. Why would the bad guys want to hurt his mommy anyway?

"Wake up, Mommy. Please?" Skyler murmured with his reddened eyes and tear stained face. After a long while, the little boy fell asleep beside his mother, still sobbing every now and then.

Eli could only watch as his son settled beside Ririna's lifeless form. These few days have been too hard on him and Skyler. He couldn't even sleep without thinking about his wife's condition and worrying about Skyler's health.

With all the information they gathered now, it seems there's a deeper reason why Ririna is being targeted by Hattori and his two successors. He adjusted the blanket and covered his son's body to protect him from cold. At least now, the kid has calmed down giving him enough time to ponder about the thing happening to their family.

Eli sat on the chair beside the bed and watched his little family sleep in the silence and emptiness of the room. He longed to hear their voices once again, to see his wife and son giggling with each other as they prepared their meals. He could still remember the last time where she stayed in his arms waiting for sleep to come with a smile on her lips.

Reality is a big nightmare. Once you thought everything is going right, it will slap you hard in your face and make your life hell in an instant.

He has to find out who these two successors are that made it a big deal to drag Ririna on their gameplay. There could be only one successor to the title. Is there another way to protect his family from their enemies?

"How are the things?"

Eli's thoughts was disturbed when he heard his father enter the room. Gabriel shut the door behind him, in his hand a vase full of fresh flowers that Ririna loves.

"My wife thought that Ririna would appreciate to smell something nice aside from the cleaning agents used on this hospital. Did you give your mother a call?" Gabriel asked before placing the vase on a table next to the hospital bed. His heart broke when he saw his grandson sleeping beside his mother. Poor child. He doesn't deserve this.

The a.d.u.l.ts were the ones who should to protect him yet they have failed. Turning his gaze to his eldest child, Gabriel could see how tired Eli is. He probably haven't gotten a good night sleep since the incident. He gave his son a sorrowful look before picking up something to discuss.

"Your mother called. She found out what happened and will be arriving soon." Gabriel said. " I sent someone earlier to find out about these successors of Hattori. The details are rather interesting." he added.

Eli arched a brow, his father being amused about something at a time like this? He turned his head to the window and noticed that the sun rising. How long did he sit there watching and protecting his family like a night owl?

He pinched the skin between his brows and sighs. His body taking a toll from tiredness and lack of sleep.

"What about it? I'm getting tired of this conversation." Eli replied.

"Watch your tone, Eli." Gabriel told him seriously. They never had a chance to fix things between them since his divorce to Eli's mother. He sighed not wanting to argue anymore.

"The current Hattori is dying hence two successors showed up to fight for the title. You know what this means, right?"

Anyone that could be the next Hattori will be more dangerous than ever. Based on what they know already, the current Hattori is the third in line. Choosing the next one is surely a battle of death. To take the top spot, the successors should fulfill the last wishes of the current Hattori and kill the other participants.

Eli sat quietly on his seat. He got an idea that there is a possibility that Ririna unknowingly turned out to be one of the successors which is why she is being targeted. Using her mother's death had surely enticed her to come back and join the game.

This is just a game. A game where you could have everything if you win or lose everything if you lost.
