Chapter 44 - Burn them all!

We all watch as the Silverback tribe tries to escape from the burning grove. When the first manages to escape, Gorm rushes forwards and savages the ape, ripping it apart.

As if releasing a flood, the rest of the tribe members charge forward, attacking the fleeing Silverback tribe. Showing no mercy, they kill everyone who comes out, leaving no survivors.

Joining them, I rush a steelfur chimp as it flees the burning grove. I send a bolt of lightning that shocks it into stopping, then I strike with my teeth, biting down hard on its throat, ripping its throat to shreds.

Letting go, I search for the next victim when I hear a massive howl and a large impact on my right. Looking, I see a huge silverback gorilla king.

"CRIMSON FLAME, YOU PATHETIC WORMS SHOULD HAVE STAYED HOME, NOW I WILL DESTROY YOU ONCE AND FOR ALL"

Gorm steps forward glaring at the gorilla king before charging straight at him, no words, no threats, just attacking.

Charging, Gorm opens his jaws and shoots out a crimson fireball. The gorilla king dodges about to taunt Gorm again when two huge talons suddenly pierce his shoulders and carry him away.

Shale was carrying the gorilla king high up before dropping him. The gorilla king lands hard on the ground, making him stunned, Gorm strikes, tearing into the gorilla with a grim ferocity.

While this is going on, the rest of us have been killing the rest of the tribe, finally, the Silverbacks realize that we are not letting any of them leave and try to climb the burning trees to escape.

As they try to escape through the trees, flying members of our group attack, sending fireballs, wind blades, lightning bolts, and the smaller members diving down to attack them.

Screams of fear and anguish fill the area, as we ravage this tribe, venting our anger, and sorrow.

"BURN THEM! BURN THEM ALL!" roars Gorm as he stands on the corpse of the gorilla king.

"ROARRRRRRRRRRR"

Just as Gorm finishes yelling, three loud screams rip through the air from off in the distance. We all stop what we are doing, as we hear loud crashing noises.

Three ancient gorilla kings appear, one is a bronzeback gorilla king, the other two were steelback gorilla kings. They stare at the burning grove with anguish and a growing rage. Turning towards us they start walking towards us slowly.

"If you wanted to die you should have just said so Gorm," says one of the gorilla kings.

Gorm says nothing, just looking up into the sky as if waiting for something. The three kings lookup, and stop walking forward. Their faces drop as they stare at the three beasts flying above them.

Vanor, Versilies, And Rentil hover above them, their faces stone-cold as they stare down. Then they open their mouths and shoot out an Azure Dragonfyre. It cackle's like lightning but cuts through like wind when it hits the three kings.

The two silverbacks get hit directly, while the bronzebacked gorilla king managed to dodge Rentil's Dragonfyre.

She hisses before swooping down and pinning the gorilla king to the ground with her hind limbs. Then she starts tearing into him, ripping bloody chunks off while the gorilla king tries to fend her off.

The other two are screaming in pain as they roll on the ground, trying desperately to put out the Dragonfyre as it burns them alive.

The grove finally burns down to the ground, nothing but ash left of it, The Silverback tribe all but extinguished.

Gorm and the other elders of the Crimson Flame stare at the ashes, tears coming down as grief overwhelms them, I had learned all of them had lost close family members, and mates in the attack on the Crimson Flame.

Vanor, Versilies, and Rentil crawl off to the side to let them grieve in peace. I stare at the ashes and think about Shaw. All the times he helped me, encouraged me, treated me like family. And now I will never get to see him again.

After several minutes of silence, Gorm, Shale, and the other elders turn towards Vanor and the others, gratitude clear in their eyes.

"Stormfury branch head, Vanor, and Rentil, please accept our thanks. Without your assistance, We would never have been able to get our revenge without suffering many loses.

I have spoken with the tribe head Lord Mezal, and with the other elders, and we wish to offer our vassalship to you" says Gorm solemnly.

Shocked, I look at the faces of the Vanor, Versilies, and Rentil. They clearly are very shocked, before Versilies gains his composure.

"I, Versilies Taleos Stormfury accept your offer of vassalship. From henceforth the Crimson Flame tribe shall belong to the Taleos branch of the Stormfury clan" he says with a practiced air.

Confused, I get Rentil's attention and motioned her over. When she comes over I ask her what just happened means.

"Basically, your tribe just became the servants of our branch, they will have to complete any tasks we assign them, in return, we will protect them from something like the raid from happening again, and monthly resources which can be increased by completing more difficult tasks" she explains in a quiet voice.

Happy for my tribe, I turn towards Vanor and ask.

"Now what?"

He turns towards me and fierce grin, before saying.

"Now we pay a visit to the Bloodyfang"
