One Piece: The Power System

Rein followed Luffy closely without him knowing, if he was in danger, he would help him right away. What made Rein speechless was Luffy's lack of awareness for danger, he kept calling out Ace's name loudly.

"ACE!!"

"ACE!!"

Luffy searched in the most ridiculous places and even put his head into holes that Ace wouldn't even be able to fit in. There was junk everywhere and people looking through it as well, they were looking for something of value. Some fortunate individuals would sometimes find something good in the rubble.

"Haha, yes, I found a gold necklace!" One man digging into junk found a golden necklace nearby. Like an idiot, he raised the watch into the air which easily got the attention of others close by. The man realized what he had done and ran off.

"Hold it right there, hand over that necklace!" A group of three hooligans began to chase the man in hot pursuit. The man was pretty fast and out of the 3 men, 2 stopped chasing as to not burn too much energy that would make then hungrier or thirstier.

However, the leader didn't give up, which made the man turn to fight instead since he was now alone. "Don't want to run anymore? Hand over the necklace and you won't suffer any pain!" The man didn't reply and sent a punch toward the pursuer.

The pursuer sneered and dodged, sending a left hook towards the man's face. The man was hit and sent to the ground after the attack. "Hehe, I'll be taking that necklace now, haha!" However, before he could come to take the necklace, it was snatched by some ugly fat man who was losing his hair.

"Huhu, It's mine, see ya!" The fat ran off the minutes he snagged the necklace.

"You thieving thing! Someone help, there's a thief!" The pursuer chased the fat man.

At this time, Luffy was walking around aimlessly until the fat man could be seen in the distance running towards him. "Kid, get the hell out of my way! Can't you see I'm conducting a robbery!" The fat man had a knife in his hand and Hollard at Luffy who looked like a lost clown. The man decided to go around Luffy since this was the best option, he couldn't waste time on this dumb kid!

Once the man was gone and still being pursued, Luffy climbed the tallest mountain of junk and looked into the distance.

"Aha!" Luffy spotted Ace's back going into the forest known as the forest between Mt. Corvo and Grey Terminal. Luffy jumped down and rushed through the junkyard to reach where he saw Ace. At this time, Rein was still watching Luffy and just followed him.

Some ways away, Ace looked around to see if the coast was clear and walked up toward a random tree with a big bag of something. "Sabo, are you there, I've got some new earnings today!" Ace looked upward towards the tree and a silhouette emerged from the top.

"Ace, I'm here, come up!" Sabo waved and said. Moments later, Sabo and Ace opened their pouches together, revealing tons of treasure and berries. Ace had the most valuables since he just robbed a pirate group.

"Amazing, you have so much, we've work hard for 5 years!" Sabo was amazed by Ace's wealth which was outdoing his own.

"Hehe, we've saved up for so long, with this, we'll be able to become pirates right away, we'll need this to buy a ship and more!" Ace smiled as well, his plan was to become a pirate, if he went down this path as he was now, it's no telling how his personality would shape to be.

Sabo began to count their earnings together, since he could actually count. Ace smirked as so. "I robbed some thugs near the main gate to earn this! It has been 5 years since we started to put money into our Pirate Savings."

Sabo: Yes, we're going to leave the East Blue and go somewhere these people have never dreamed of. It's exciting just thinking about it!"

Ace: Now put it away, we don't need anyone seeing any of this treasure.

Sabo: I wonder how much we need to get a pirate ship." Sabo began to put the treasure away into the secret hatch.

Ace: Hmm, I don't know, maybe 10 million or 100 million, maybe?

As they were lavishing in their earnings, a voice came over. "Wow, cool, I found you Ace, so this is where you were?" Sabo immediately slammed his secret latch shut with a panicked expression. Ace's face changed and they both looked down to see Luffy waving his arms at them with a smile.

"You guys! You two want to be pirates too? I'm gonna become one, too!" Ace and Sabo looked at each other and began to quickly move down the tree to capture Luffy. Moments later, Luffy was tied to a tree with a smile present on his face.

"Sabo, it looks like he's found our secret, this isn't good!" Ace's facial expression turned dark.

"What are we going to do about it? Should we....?" Sabo didn't finish his sentence but it was easy to figure out what he wanted to say.

"Yes, I think we should kill him!" Ace nodded his head, he already knew what Sabo wanted to say.

"Okay, let's do it." Sabo and Ace looked at Luffy.

"Okay, go kill him, Sabo." Ace said casually

"What, I don't know how to do that, you do it!" Sabo didn't know how to kill anyone, he didn't want to honestly go that far.

"K-Kill, no don't kill me! I don't want to die, wahaaaa! Please, someone, help me, wahaaaa!" Luffy screamed after hearing their brief exchange about killing him. This was going too far!

"Shut up! No one's going to kill anyone, you idiot!" Luffy seemed to not hear what Ace said and continued to cry out in panic.

"Don't throw me into the water, I'll drown for sure, I can't swim, wahaaa!" Ace and Sabo bunked Luffy over the head to shut him up, however!

Some ways away, Luffy cries could be heard from afar by a particular group! "Do you hear that? Someone's yelling over in that direction! Let's go check it out, it could be Ace, that little bastard has stolen from us!" These were the people who worked for the Blue Jam pirates, they were being led by Porchemy, who had a towering stature and fierce eyes.

Once they heard Luffy's cries, they immediately ran over. Not only were they robbed by Ace, they also got the daylights beat out of them. This was especially so for one of the man who had his arm broken which he wore a cast over.

Rein was hiding nearby, he knew Ace and Sabo weren't going to kill Luffy so he continued to watch the show. Sabo and Ace could hear Porchemy and his men declaration to search the area in the forest upon hearing Luffy's voice earlier. They immediately untied Luffy and ran towards the nearby bushes.

The hooligans approached steadily under the leadership of Porchemy. "Damn, he has a real sword, we are no match for him in weaponry." Sabo's head formed some beads of sweat as he spoke.

"He's huge, this is going to be a problem if he finds us!" Ace whispered.

"Porchemy, you have to be careful, that Ace kid is outrageous!" The man with the cast over his arm warned. He got the worst end of the stick from ace, or should I say the worst end of the pipe. The guy was carrying the treasure during the attack so this made sense.

"No matter how outrageous he is, we have to retrieve our treasure back. If we don't get it back then it will only be our deaths!" Porchemy spoke seriously, his captain was ruthless and strived to be a noble, but too bad, he was born as a normal man.

"Ah, sorry, it's all our fault, we underestimated him." He could only apologize but it didn't matter, Ace was just too strong for him anyway.

"Damn, I didn't know they were the blue jam pirates, I thought they were simple thugs!" Ace peeked from behind the bush with a worrisome voice.

"They are thugs, they seem to only work for them and nothing more," Sabo said with a sweaty forehead. Luffy was with them and looked at them as well. Rein was hiding elsewhere eating an apple he got from a tree nearby.

As Ace and Sabo were talking, Sabo looked towards Luffy but he wasn't there anymore! "W-where is he?" Sabo and Ace looked ahead and saw that Luffy had been caught!

"How could he get caught?" They both exclaimed at the same time. Their eyes bulged out of their skulls from surprise.

"Let go of me, you bastard!" Luffy wiggled about trying to escape. His size compared to Pochemy was too big of a difference that Luffy looked like an ant.

"Who is this little shitty brat?" Porchemy held Luffy by the collar and asked.

"Help me, Ace!" Luffy called out for help but no one appeared to help him. Rein was waiting for the right moment to help Luffy, the crucial moment. He wasn't going to let them take Luffy back to experience a beating like the show when he was tortured. As soon as Ace and Sabo heard Luffy call Ace's name they put their head's down in fear that Luffy would point them out.

"Damn, this idiot is calling my name!"

"You called for Ace, do you know them?"

"So what if I do! He's my friend. Oh, but he just tried to kill me." Ace clenched his fist in the bushes nearby as veins could be visibly seen coming from his forehead.

"That fool, he's such a big mouth!" Ace scorned Luffy's unstraining mouth.

"I heard that ace stole some money from us and ran today. You don't know where is it now, do you?" Luffy recalled the hidden storage in the tree and put his head down.

"Oh, no, he's definitely going to tell them where the treasure is, we're finished!" Sabo thought it was all over, the treasure that they collected over the years was going to disappear into smoke just like that!

"So, do you know where is it?" Porchemy asked one last time calmly. Sweat beads appeared on Luffy's forehead as his eyes looked in another direction. Luffy's lips formed like duck lips as they grew and slanted to the side.

"What!?"

"Huh!?"

"I-I don't know..." Luffy began to whistle with his duck lips afterward

Porchemy's eyes bulged "A Terrible Liar!" Porchemy lifted his sword over his shoulder and smirked. The three men that came began to chuckle evilly knowing Luffy's fate.

"Alright, Alright! It can't be helped that you don't know." Porchemy smiled sinisterly: "Don't worry, I'll help you bring back the memory!" Ace and Sabo were stunned but there was nothing they could do. Their main goal was to secure their treasure, believing that Luffy would break under being tortured.

Just as Porchemy and his gang were taking Luffy away, a shadow swiftly moved to his side!

Boom!

Porchemy was knocked away by a kick to the face. He was shocked, who dared to sneak attack him!? Porchemy let go of Luffy when he was hit by the punch, he landed on the ground with a blue swollen knot on the side of his face.

Ace and Sabo were surprised to the point where snot was coming out of their noses. The people who came with Porchemy were shocked. The person who kicked Porchemy away was, of course, Rein who had been waiting silently.

"W-Who Dares!?" Porchemy got up with a face filled with rage for the first time and looked over at the person who kicked him. Porchemy was stunned a bit seeing Rein face but almost immediately, his facial expression turned dark again. "Another brat, you must be his brother judging from your features! You've got some nerve attacking me while I'm off guard!" Porchemy brandished his sword, he'll have to cut this kid's limbs off as an example, at least an arm!

"Hehe! Soru!" Rein didn't reply but laughed instead, he used Soru and disappeared before everyone's eyes. This was the lowest level of Soru but these pirates were on the bottom of the pyramid of power, like the very bottom!

Porchemy eye dilated as he was kicked hard in the face and sent flying upside down into the forest, Rein used almost all his might for this kick! Porchemy had completely underestimated Rein and was caught off guard, this lead to an instant defeat. Rein wasn't moving all that fast really but to them, it was too quick!

"Oh my God!" The 3 men that followed Porchemy were dumbfounded. A boy that looked like the boy they were just about to kidnap had appeared and knocked their leader away like it was nothing! The kid was slightly taller than the one they wanted to kidnap but he was still extremely small.

"Gasp!" Sabo and Ace went stiff like stone, what in the world were they seeing? They were confident that they could beat Porchemy if the two of them ganged up on him but not in a 1v1 scenario. Rein had effortlessly blown Porchemy away like he was a wooden puppet!

"Y-You better not....!" Before the man with the cast could finish, Rein glinted behind the group and knocked all three of them out with a chop to the neck.

"R-Rein, amazing!! You beat them so fast!" Luffy got up and ran to Rein's side with a goofy smile on his face.

"Luffy, you would have been tortured to the extreme if they had taken you back!" Rein glared at Luffy but wasn't really mad at all. Rein looked back at Sabo and Ace who were in a daze.

"Sabo and Ace, well, well, it nice to officially meet you guys." Rein walked up Ace and Sabo and said casually, his eyes looked lazy as if he tried hard to say what he wanted to say.

"Y-You two are twins!?" Sabo looked at both Luffy and Rein. He had never seen twins before so he was a little surprised. Sabo couldn't see Rein's face clearly from afar so he didn't notice it back then.

"I guess!" Reined looked up at the tree and continued "I see, you guys must be robbing people for treasure, It seems like a good plan if I have to say myself!" Honestly, Rein hadn't thought of that, it was a good idea to rob some people of berries and treasure.

Sabo and Ace were alarmed as they grew defensive. "Relax, you guys still don't trust us? If Luffy wanted to, he could have ratted you guys out in a hurry to at least have hope of saving himself, but he didn't." Rein shook his head and looked at Ace and Sabo with pity because of how ungrateful they were.

"..."

"....."

Sabo and Ace were speechless, they had no counter to what Rein had said. Rein looked at Luffy who had a confused expression and asked. "Luffy, why didn't you tell those pirates the location of the treasure these two were hiding?" Rein was trying to make a point here, this was why he waited in the shadows for so long.

Luffy smiled "Because Ace is my friend and he would hate me if I told them the place!" Rein nodded and asked another question.

"Do you think Ace should live?" Rein asked what seemed to be a stupid question.

"Huh, yes, I don't want him to die." Luffy scratched his head and was confused as to why Rein asked him such a weird question. Ace's eyes dilated, someone who wanted him to live! All he had heard his entire life was the son of that "Demon" should die or shouldn't be born. Even Dadan who got drunk at times would talk shit about him in her drunken state.

"There you go, Ace!" Rein had made his point without Luffy having to suffer torture to gain their trust.

Ace was silent and stared at the two, it was unknown what he was thinking.

"I also know Ace's origin but I won't say it unless he wants others to know." Rein yawned, he was tired of this cat and mouse game. Ace looked at Rein in horror, did he know the truth about that?

"Don't look at me like that, you look like you're about to get crazy!" Rein noticed Ace's somewhat cold eyes. "Luffy, let's go home, it is too dangerous in these parts, those guys will wake up soon. They'll be executed by their captain for this failure.

"Okay!" Luffy agreed right away without question.

"Wait!" Sabo called out to Luffy and Rein who were leaving. Rein turned toward Sabo to see what he wanted. "Rein, right? We should train and hunt sometime, I think that it'll help all of us in the future when we become pirates." Sabo had an eerie smirk on his face but nevertheless happy.

"Of course, what about you, Ace? Do you want to do the same thing?"

"Whatever, it doesn't matter to me.' Ace sighed a bit and left it at that.

Soon, Rein and Luffy left back to the mountain. Rein just wanted to get things straight with Sabo and Ace. Mainly Ace, since this was going to be his brother anyway.

"That guy is strong, I'm not sure if we can beat him together but if we coordinate, then just maybe." Sabo scratched his forehead with concern. Rein was right about Luffy as he could have easily told their whereabouts and the whereabouts of their treasure. This made Sabo feel much more at ease when he thought about it.

"You haven't seen anything yet, you should see the storage girl they have with them." Ace said "She is good at fighting and can put things into her body somehow! That girl's the real monster amongst monsters!" Ace recalled Erica in the forest that day and her ability to coordinate attacks and schemes in battle.

"Goodness, if we create a pirate crew with all of us in it, we'll be invincible on the sea, Hahaha!" Sabo laughed heartily just thinking about it, Sabo was a down to earth kid for a former noble.

"Hmm, I wonder!" Afterward, Ace and Sabo grabbed their treasure to relocate elsewhere.

Once everyone left. Inside the forest came a man who just appeared when Ace and Sabo were talking. He didn't see the little scrimmage that took place earlier and only saw Ace and Sabo. Seeing the three hooligans knocked out and Porchemy laying knocked out on a bush, he immediately left in a hurry. The man believed this was done by Sabo and Ace and went to report back to his captain, Blue Jam.
