Chapter 56

She wasn’t able to get out for a long time, even after the small window leading to the coachman’s seat was closed and even after the carriage had stopped. Then, like a thief, they came in through the back door and jumped into this bed.

Just like how they did last night.

If it wasn’t for the state she was in now, she’d probably clutch her head and scream.

But now was not the time to scream, but the groan at the lump of heat was gathering deep inside.

Realizing Claire’s reaction, Erich smiled faintly and placed his hand on her boisterous chest. He was looking forward to it so much, shouldn’t she live up to it?

“Seriously.”

Claire, out of petty vengeance, painfully tugged at his bangs and tousled them into a mess, but even so, the arrogantly handsome man became a disheveled handsome man.

“Senior. You’re the enemy of democracy.”

“What kind of nonsense are you talking about all of a sudden?”

“Oh, I don’t know.”

In the meantime, Erich didn’t question her further either. Instead he called her by her first name.

“Claire.”

Heat rose up to her eyelids. Claire put the palm of her hand on Erich’s face, feeling as if she wasn’t sure if she was pushing Erich’s cheek or cupping it.

“When you wake up later, buy me some clothes. Not someone else’s.”

“Yes.”

“I’m going to sweep the entire boutique.”

“Alright.”

“We have to go together.”

“…….”

“Answer.”

“…Yes.”

Claire laughed because she felt better. She didn’t drink a drop of alcohol, but she felt a bit drunk.

The intoxication soon mingled with the heat and drenched the body.

Auntie didn’t come home.

Elliot crossed his arms and nodded his head seriously. He was copying Claire when there was a big problem.

“She must have lost her way.”

“That’s not the case, Young Master.”

Martha grinned and denied it.

There had been no news from the night before, and Martha was worried, too. However, an errand boy from House Klausener came early in the morning.

Claire had spent the night there, and she was due to return today after a shopping trip.

She would have liked it if Claire had told them last night, but that in itself wasn’t such a bad thing. She was just happy that the couple’s relationship will be good.

Elliot, who didn’t understand the situation, stamped his feet and was worried that his Auntie didn’t come home.

“She slept at the Duke’s house yesterday.”

“At Uncle’s house?”

Elliot tilted his head.

“Did Auntie fall asleep while playing?” ¹

“Oh my.”

The word ‘play’ had a child-like connotation in the child’s mind, but to an adult, it sounded entirely different. The nanny couldn’t help but laugh.

Elliot couldn’t understand why the adults laughed, and he was just upset

“Uncle is bad. He said I’m his friend too, but he’s only playing together with Auntie.”

Elliot grumbled. He really meant it, but Martha and the nanny were just laughing as they listened to the child’s complaints.

It made Elliot even more upset and he started to cry. Martha then hugged the flustered Elliot.

“Oh, our Young Master, you must have felt upset.”

“Don’t laugh, I hate you, Nanny! I hate Jenny too!”

Elliot flinched and pushed Martha away and jumped off the couch.

He deliberately stomped his feet into his room, followed by Martha, stifling her laughter.

Elliot slammed the door in front of Martha as he slipped into his room.

“Oh my, he must be very angry.”

“There’s no helping it. Perhaps this is the first time the Mistress has stayed out all night, leaving the young master alone?”

“There were times when she was busy with work and couldn’t take care of him, but she was never not at home. In Delford, she always met people in her study.”

But in the capital, that was not possible. Besides, there were preparations for the wedding to be done, and there was also her fiancé.

In his room, Elliot clenched his fists.

“Hng. Do you think you can beat me?”

Now that this has happened, he will have to go pick her up himself. And he will give Uncle a mouthful. Don’t take my Auntie away!

Had he known that what Uncle meant was that they could play alone with just the two of them, he would never have agreed.

Elliot lay on the bed for a while and made a plan. Still, he was really upset because no one came to comfort him.

‘I’m going to get mad at Auntie!’

Elliot made up his mind and jumped up again.

When he pried open the door, he saw Martha sitting by the window, engrossed in knitting. The nanny seemed to be away as well.

Elliot tiptoed and slipped out of the room. And he hurried into the elevator before Martha called him.

Elliot was just running out into the ground floor lobby, where he was asked by the bellboy standing in front of the elevator.

“Where are you going, Young Master?”

“You don’t have to know!”

It was impossible not to know. However, he had made eye contact with the nanny who had been secretly following him from a distance, so the bellboy just laughed and said ‘yes’ and let Elliot go.

Elliot walks out of the hotel with a thumping gait and he bumps into someone trying to enter.

“Aaack!”

“My my, Young Master. Where are you going in such a hurry?”

Roger Carson asked, catching Elliot who was about to fall behind and lifting him into the air.

“Ah, Roger!”

Elliot cried out mournfully.

Roger patted Elliot on the back as he cried and exchanged glances with the nanny, who was hiding.

He then asked Elliot.

“What’s wrong? Did something upset you?”

“Auntie didn’t come home yesterday. But…”

Elliot complained to Roger.

“I see,” Roger said, after a lengthy pause to Elliot’s complaint. “Then, shall we go see her?”

“Will Roger come with me?”

“If you want to, of course. Anytime.”

Roger grinned and replied. Of course, he had other tricks on his mind besides taking care of Elliot.

What could be better than a child interrupting an adult’s time? From the moment he came in, it was the child’s time.

Especially if they’re going to be the child’s parents.

The walls of the Duchy Klausener were high, but was it really high in front of the eldest son? No way.

Roger snuggles Elliot up and, since he wasn’t planning on sending him that far, he gestured to the bewildered nanny that it was okay.

And he walked outside with a skip in his step.
