Not Like In The Movies

Day after day quickly went by and without anyone feeling it, 3 months already passed by.

In the mornings, Zhen Zhu woke Fei Shuang up with Angel, prepares delicious breakfast, and sees her off to therapy. She was so warm and natural,making Fei Shuang worry less about her condition even thou she barely felt like her pain was improving or changing in a positive way.

With time,she became friends with Mr Shen who at first,wasn't that easy to coupe with. She mostly did the talkings while he would barely respond with a small smile on his face.

The general hospital cafeteria.

*DIING!*

The elevator reaches the floor & Fei Shuang maneuvered out of it to the hospital cafeteria, which was located on the first floor with Mr Shen.

"Huh..I'm so hungry." Fei Shuang complained with a big sigh.

Li Chu looked beside him, the beautiful woman maneuvering her wheelchair wore casual workout clothes with a jacket. Her long brown hair was crafted into giant,bouncy curls.

"We're already here." He said simply, giving nothing more than a blink. "Would you like to eat some sandwich?" He turned to ask her.

Fei Shuang nodded and he left to place an order while she waited patiently for him to bring them food.

He shortly returned with a tray containing a plate of sandwich, a cup of black coffee and a glass cup of water; only to see Fei Shuang busy eating jellybeans, staring at the scenery around them.

He dropped the tray and pushed a plate of sandwich in front of her. She smiled and put back her pack of jellybeans in her bag. He sat facing her.

Li Chu sipped at a cup of black coffee with his usual blank face.

He invited Fei Shuang over to come eat at the cafeteria before she left for the day. So, they sat and he slowly talked about her condition and the improvements she made so far.

The sandwich tasted so delicious. She wondered what Dr Xiao was doing at the moment. He had been avoiding her for so long and it breaks her poor heart.

Hopefully, she might see him on her way out.

She was done with her sandwich and emptied the glass of water so she strapped her bag and was about to speak when she remembered something.

She didn't know what came over her, but she said it nonetheless. "Mr Shen,why do i feel like you're so much different from what i thought you were?" There was no point in asking him, he just turned to look at her.

"Really?" He asked, looking for affirmation.

"Yeah. Before working with you,you're always cold and unfriendly." Fei Shuang spoke in a faint voice. The man kept looking at Fei Shuang.

At last with eyes narrowed, Li Chu kindly asked, "Is that so? I'm actually not that good at befriending others.. but now..." He kept his gaze down while scratching his cheek sheepishly. He couldn't say the truth that he's having a weird feeling towards her.

"Mr Shen,you're quiet handsome." Fei Shuang said with a smile.

THUD!

"Eh?" Li Chu couldn't help but gaped in shock.

'Your cold attitude is so convincing when your lip's twitching.' Fei Shuang thought as she glanced at him.

"Look at you holding your smile in, are you happy now?" Fei Shuang grinned seeing Li Chu averted his eyes and the corner of his lips were twitching.

Li Chu didn't say anything and silently shook his head before subconsciously nodding, agreeing with her. He was so happy that he confused himself, cheering silently in his heart.

Fei Shuang grinned once again seeing what Li Chu did. The latter stared at her for a while before he finally forced himself to blurt out, "Thank you."

"You're welcome." She nodded with her lips pressed together to keep from smiling. She loved this side of Mr Shen. Li Chu turned his head and stared into space. She also shifted her eyes.

Around them, the cafeteria was alive. People moved up and down. Some were enjoying their break time with some tea and snacks while others were having a chit chat.

For a long time, they sat like that

not until Fei Shuang caught sight of Xiao Tian walking with Nurse Qu.

The next second, she immediately called out for his attention, "Hey Doctor Xiao!"

Xiao Tian heard a familiar voice. He stopped and turned to see Fei Shuang sitting with Li Chu. He felt a pang in his c.h.e.s.t when his eyes met Fei Shuang s'. The woman had a huge smile on her face and her eyes gleamed with delight.

He wanted to turn his eyes away as if he didn't see who was calling him but Pan Er interrupted, "Look Dr. Xiao,it's Miss Lee and Doctor Shen." She said,surprise lacing her voice.

Xiao Tian wanted to glare at Pan Er but his professional side peek out as he held the urge to smack her on the head. Now he can't run away from Fei Shuang, all thanks to this fool!

His brows twitched in irritation as he opened his mouth to speak.

"Oh,i see. You can go back to work now." He responded annoyingly and handed out the file to her.

Pan Er bit her lips as she collected the file. She wanted to hang out with Fei Shuang and Mr Shen too.

She slowly made her way back to the elevator with a sad face while Xiao Tian walked to meet Fei Shuang.

He exchanged greetings with the two and sat down right next to Li Chu.

"Dr. Xiao, why are you avoiding me?"

Fei Shuang asked, tilting her head. Deep down, she was curious to know why.

"Hm? Why?" Li Chu blinked as if not knowing why his friend was ignoring the woman for the past 3 months. The scenes of how his friend demonstrated the incidents that happened in Singapore flashed back in his mind, a small smirk spread his lips. Xiao Tian subconsciously rolled his eyes as an answer to Li Chu's question. How can he play along like that?

He immediately turned his gaze at Fei Shuang and coughed, shaking his head and his hands, "I dare not avoid you, Miss Lee."

Li Chu just sat there, eyes wide open, staring at Xiao Tian.

The corner of Fei Shuang's lips turned up as she replied, "Are you sure it's not because I remind you of someone else?" she teased lightly. Xiao Tian's mouth dried at her words as the pang in his c.h.e.s.t grew.

A smile flitted across Li Chus' face and disappeared.

Xiao Tian quickly laughed, shaking his head again. "No,not at all. I've been busy lately with work and you're busy with your pt session which makes it difficult for us to meet. Besides, I'm mostly on night duty."

Fei Shuang blinked.

"Well you're right." And the conversation could have ended there, but they were already in a common place, with speculative eyes on them.

After a few moments, Dr. Xiao and Mr Shen got into a discussion about a recent man who got admitted to the hospital and wondering if one of them would be called for his aid. She didn't pay much attention at first, but they seemed engrossed in their conversation. She listened in and grew more excited as they went about their analysis. She couldn't catch up with the specifics, but she knew enough that Li Chu was interested in it.

"Want to go home now?" Li Chu asked, once their discussion was over.

Fei Shuang nodded and bid farewell to Mr Xiao before she left with Li Chu, leaving Xiao Tian behind without a partner. Seeing his side empty while Li Chu had Fei Shuang next to him, the poor man became jealous.

He had to find his own companion. Time to go back to dating life.

"..."

Xiao Tian walked out of the cafeteria with his head hung down.
