We wrote a recap for the past volume. We hope it helps to refresh your memories before we dive into volume 2.

As it’s the first time making one, let us know what you think about it; is it helpful or completely unnecessary? Do you miss some information or do you have tips to improve? Vol. 1

In volume 1 we get acquainted with the main characters of this story. Liloa Obernyu, Cesar Lemoine and Edgar Retiro. Liloa is a runaway noble lady, disguised as the famous pirate captain Lil Schweiz. Lil’s cross-dressing is believable because she’s in possession of an ancient relic with the power of changing one’s appearance. Therefore, Lil isn’t merely dressing up as a man, but to others she is completely transformed into one. Cesar is her right-hand-man and acts as the navigator on the Bell Rock. The Bell Rock is their pirate ship and part of the Southern League of Pirates. After one of their voyages, they’re met with the news about Navy Admiral, Edgar Retiro, making his way to the South. Edgar is infamous for the brutal annihilation of the Western pirates with his Mondovi fleet.

As a means to get more information on this matter, Lil transforms back into a woman and hits the streets. Unbeknownst to her, she meets the Admiral, who is disguised as the sailor named Ed. Even though Ed was delighted to see her, their first meeting wasn’t on good terms and they ended up having a small scuffle. After spending some time together, they met again in the Count’s house, where Lil and her crew snuck in dressed as prostitutes to steal more information. Before their escape Cesar and Ed fight, this is when Cesar recognizes Ed as the Admiral and asks him to meet. From this Cesar learns that Ed is here on a request of the Duke of Mireille to bring Liloa back. Not long after this Ed puts all the pieces together and discovers that Liloa and captain Lil Schweiz are the same people. After this discovery, Ed threatens Cesar and demands to be allowed on the Bell Rock. This leads to Ed joining the ship’s crew as a doctor.

Some quick important trivia:

– Lil and Cesar are in a relationship.

– The necklace Lil wears is a family heirloom from the Duke of Mireille.

– Lil and Ed are both from the Northern continent.

– All three main characters were students of the Lebrun military academy.

– Admiral Retiro has a bad relationship/reputation with the emperor and the nobility.

– Cesar is a former navy captain.

– The Garni merchant ships that trade in slaves belongs to Duke Mireille.

– Lil suffers from nightmares.

– Lil is extremely wary of Ed but doesn’t know he’s the Admiral. She thinks he’s a spy for the fleet.

– Between the mainland and the northern continent lies the Monferrand Strait, a deadly sea only crossable by a Retiro descendant.

– Ed is a legit doctor with a degree.

– Ed travelled alone to Amiaeng, but his fleet lay waiting.

– Even though Cesar knows the identity of Ed, he chooses to keep it a secret for Lil. It still is unclear as to why, so this is a bit of speculation from our side. But we think it’s a combination of keeping Lil’s peace of mind and being in control over Lil and the situation.

– Ed may have travelled to the South by request of the duke, but he isn’t planning on following the duke’s will.
