Xiao Mohan carried Gu Chuyan out of the hospital. She was astounded when she realized that there was no one in the hospital. Even the roads were empty!
“What are you thinking about?” Xiao Mohan asked as he carried her onto the bed and noticed her daydreaming.
Gu Chuyan’s face was scorching. She touched her face with her small hand and shrank to move slightly farther away from him. She felt a little nervous when they were too close.
“Nothing.” Gu Chuyan’s gaze flickered.
Xiao Mohan pulled her hand and stroked her palm. There seemed to be static at his fingertips. The electricity seeped into her blood and electrocuted every single nerve.
She wanted to retrieve her hand but he pulled it tighter.
His gaze was intense as he stared at the wound on the back of her hand.
“Was it caused by high heels?” he asked.
Gu Chuyan stopped struggling. She thought he was holding her hand but he was actually examining her wound. The skin there was peeled and you could see the flesh and blood faintly.
“Yes.” She didn’t deny it.
That was embarrassing but there was no need to deny it.
She turned and looked at the scenery flying back outside the window. She mocked herself. “Didn’t you think seeing the Gu family today was funny?”
“Yes,” Xiao Mohan answered.
“For example, when the person sat on the broken bowl,” he continued. It was rare for him to talk this much.
She finally remembered Lian Zhenzhen sitting on the broken shards of the bowl. The pain stopped her from getting up and she looked haggard.
“Pfft.” Gu Chuyan burst out laughing.
He touched her long hair and combed her smooth hair all the way to the ends.
Gu Chuyan felt flattered. She turned and looked at him.
“Don’t allow anyone to bully you in the future,” Xiao Mohan said. He turned her body over so that they were looking at each other. His gaze was calm and firm. “Don’t suffer even if you have to kill them.”
“If you kill someone because you’re being bullied, it’s considered an act of self-defense,” he added.
Gu Chuyan’s gaze changed as she stared at him. The words were brutal and straightforward but she felt touched.
“What do you do?” she asked after contemplating it for some time.
Just now, those two men called him Third Young Master Xiao. Now, his words were a little… he sounded extremely arrogant. But she actually loved how overbearing he was.
“What do you hope for?” Xiao Mohan threw the question back at her.
Gu Chuyan tilted her head and felt agonized. “Everything’s alright as long as you’re not a bad person.”
“Hehe.”Xiao Mohan chuckled suddenly when he heard this.
The man looked at her clear eyes. They were filled with sincerity and yearning. The tips of his fingers stroked the back of her hand and his gaze landed on her leg.
“Master, everything’s done.” Han Changqing was driving but he noticed Xiao Mohan’s actions.
Xiao Mohan stared at the wound on Gu Chuyan’s leg. He was signaling that Gu Miaoting had to pay for her crime.
“Yes,” Xiao Mohan replied.
Han Changqing’s phone rang. He picked up the call. “Hello.”
Han Changqing felt as though he was holding a hot potato. He didn’t know if he should continue the call or hang up. He was in a dilemma. “Master, it’s a call from home.”
Home? The Xiao family?
“Hang up,” Xiao Mohan said.
Han Changqing passed the phone to Xiao Mohan. He noticed that Xiao Mohan didn’t want to take the call but he didn’t dare to hang up.
Xiao Mohan took the phone and hung up the call. Then he threw the phone to one side.
