New World's Empress

Chapter 64 - 64.Stupid people everywhere

As soon he went back to his main hall and saw the mountain of papers he needed to check, the Emperor's face changed. With a sneer, he turned his head towards a head servant.

"If I find inside even one request about servants, inner palace matters or anything similar, I will cut off your head put it on a stick and let it walk through the palace so other people don't get similar ideas." He got close to the big mountain when he heard a thud behind him.

"Emperor, please forgive me. Mister of inner affairs and Minister of palace matters said these are important and have to be done today." He shook as he felt coldness enveloping his body.

"Oh, interesting. Do they say I have to do this? Are they outside?" He saw his servant shaking even more. "Where are they?"

"They just came and planned to go home." The servant answered meekly.

"So two small ministers did not finish their work, let ME do that and you just accepted it?" This is the most ridiculous thing he heard in his life. "What is the point of keeping them if they don't do their job and what is the use of keeping you if you don't do your own."

He pointed and calm looking servant by the door and winked him to come. "Taoqi, you are the main servant from today on. You worked by my side now for over five years. I think you know what should and what should not be done."

Taoqi bowed and calmly spoke. "Yes, Emperor."

"I'll write resignation letters for those two fools and this one as well. Kick them out of the palace and ban them to come back. After that bring me the list of scholars that passed the best in the last three years. I'll need to choose two more ministers."

Taoqi nodded and walked to the side. He picked up a scroll, checked it and brought it to Emperor with a deep bow. "The list. I shall send out this person."

Emperor just waved his hand as the frozen man was dragged out. But outside he came to his senses but it was too late. He knew already Emperor's moods and if he makes trouble he might really stay without the head.

"I will just pick up my stuff and go." Taoqi nodded and followed him.

The man was surprised. "I can pack everything alone. There is no need for your help."

Taoqi rose his eyebrows. "I don't follow you to help you, just to make sure that palace items don't follow you outside by accident."

Hearing his words the man stilled. He had many palace items on the side. ''Emperor gifted me often things..."

Taoqi nodded. "Two bowls, ten rolls of pure silk, twenty sets of male hair accessory he found ugly, three paintings he found disastrous, seven pots he didn't like the size or colors, set of tea jade that he found strange and a bunch of silver and gold."

Listening to his words just now he understood that everything Emperor so far gifted him was something he didn't like. A wave of sudden anger rose in his heart. ''I worked all these years for useless trash?''

Taoqi furrowed his eyebrows. ''What did you just say?''

The man turned his eyes towards him and sneered. ''Then let's do it this way. I will sell it all to you. These people will be my witnesses. I will sell you all these things for all the savings you own.''

Taoqi couldn't believe his ears. ''Are you crazy? Do you even know anything about those things? You worked so long by his side, how can you...?''

The man waved his hand in impatience. ''Do you take it or not. If not I'll just brake them in anger.''

Taoqi nodded. ''I accept your offer then. I saved about twenty gold nuggets of wealth. Is that enough?'' Twenty nuggets are about two thousand silver. With that amount, he can live fearlessly rest fo his life.

The man nodded as greed shown in his eyes. ''I accept, give it to me.''

Taoqi shook his head. ''I don't wear such thing with me. Come to my room and then I will give it to you. You guys pack carefully everything and bring it to me. Be careful as those things are extremely precious.''

As they entered a simple room the man sneered. ''No wonder you have such wealth. You never spent any of it on anything. You need to learn ways of palace soon or you will die.''

He thought he will appreciate his words but Taoqi just shrugged. ''Everyone has a different way of thinking. You have your way and I have mine. Now lets hurry.'' He gave the bag with gold nuggets to him and pushed him out of the room. Outside stood a few guards and he pointe at the man. ''Bring him out the palace immediately. No stops whatsoever. If he tries anything strange, kill him.''

The guards nodded and pulled out swords. The man became angry, I was a man by the Emperor's side, how can you disrespect me like this. I need to say my goodbyes.''

Taoqi waved his hand. ''Drag him out. If he really makes trouble, kill him and take his possessions to a nearby pharmacy, buy medicaments and bring to the western courtyard that is taking care of the health of the poor. That will be his contribution. His body trow in a common hole where all criminals are thrown.

The man froze after hearing his orders. He wanted to say something but suddenly a hand covered his mouth. ''Stupid. You have no right to speak since you gave up your position. Now go out calmly or we will really kill you. Actually, he is trying to tell us to save your life if possible. You have many enemies and if they find out you are leaving today, they might tell their people outside and you will die without a corpse.''

The man paled. He nodded and as soon the hands were off his mouth her rushed to the main palace gate. He needed to get out of the capital as soon as possible. If not...

But what he didn't know that all the things Emperor gave him were of immeasurable wealth. Even if he didn't like some color or shape didn't mean they are less precious. Much later he found out that and almost died of anger.

Indeed some people are just too stupid. Who would give Emperor worthless things? If Emperor gifted something he dislikes, that doesn't mean you got a bad thing. It is just, not his taste... It's not less precious tho...
