Naruto - Neglected Sage

Naruto along with the rest of Team 7 and Mei, most of the Kiri resistance was behind a peak overlooking the field below them, this was where the battle would go down, large enough for them to go wild and be comfortable in the space provided.

Naruto was now garbed in the battle suit that he loved, it was much like a certain devil hunters garb. Black tank top, black pants, steel toed shoes and a blue jacket with an orange Uzumaki swirl on the back. All were adorned with many seals, but that's a story for another time.

"Well Mei shall we go kill him?" Naruto suggested jokingly, this was what they had been planning for meticulously for a few days now and here it was time to execute their plan, Naruto and Mei against the Three Tails container Yagura. Hinata was in charge of the healing corps, and the rest of team 7 will fight with the rebels.

Originally, Naruto was supposed to fight alone, but all of them protested and said it was to dangerous. Kushina suggested her self to assist Naruto, but he denied her by saying he couldn't trust her making Kushina feel down. After a few more rounds of debate it was Mei who came on top.

"Lets." Mei and Naruto jumped down to come face to face with Yagura leading a mass sized swarm of Kiri shinobi under his command. Yagura was a small person, he had a head of messy, light-grey hair, pink pupiless eyes and what seems to be a stitch-like scar running from under his left eye, all the way down his cheek, on his back he carried a staff-like pole weapon with uneven sized hooks with a green flower on the larger end. Even if his appearance looked less than menacing, his power was immense.

"Shall we dance Mizukage Yagura?" taunted Naruto.

"What did you just say?" Responded Yagura thinking that he only ever heard one other person refer to fighting as dancing.

"You know what I said, Blistering Swords!" Naruto responded, then he summoned 8 swords made of pure nature energy and fired them towards Yagura.

Yagura pulled out his hook shaped staff and tried to block the flying swords, only to be surprised at the strength behind them. He was launched of the ground after deflecting 5 of them, while the last 3 made it's was to his left shoulder, lower stomach, and right leg. Yagura was in agony, but it didn't end there as he saw Mei fire a Water Dragon jutsu. The young Mizukage immediately countered with a giant water wave cancelling both skills.

Naruto took this chance to rush Yagura and stab him on the back or so he thought as that Yagura dissolved into water. Surprised Naruto didn't expect to be blindsided by a kick to the face that launched him so hard that where he landed became a crater, Mei went to aid him making hand signs and launched a massive flow of lava at Yagura which he countered with powerful wave of water, blasting together to make steam, but not all of it was countered, some of the lava still landed on Yagura making him scream out in agony.

Now that he was hurting badly, the Mizukage began to go into his Tailed state, a red chakra cloaking started emanating from his body. He let out a massive roar that even the thousands of shinobi that were looking at their battle began to take a few steps back. Naruto knew the games were over and rushed to Mei's side. He hardened his skin by absorbing unimaginable amounts of nature chakra just in time to deflect the Titan like punch from Yagura. Though it still pushed them back due to the force behind said attack.

Naruto summoned another set of swords and fired a round of Blistering Swords, but Yagura just dodged it using his Bijuu enhanced speed. Smoke covered the area as the swords exploded and created a crater. As it cleared, Yagura was nowhere in sight. Hearing a roar from above they looked up to see a red blur falling from the sky and a black dot in its mouth, Naruto knew this was the tailed beast bomb and grabbed Mei by her side making her 'eep!' like a little girl, as Naruto activated his Rinnegan and used Preta path to absorb the incoming ball of pure chakra.

Yagura waited for an explosion that never came, instead he saw both Mei and Naruto standing there unharmed, making his anger grow more.

Dashing before Naruto could put up his guard, Yagura slugged him on the face while he kicked Mei on the stomach sending them both flying, effectively separating them. Going for the weakest link Yagura jumped after Mei who attacked with a corrosive mist that engulfed Yagura but was not having an effect on the pure chakra skin that Yagura was clad in, Mei had no defense and jumped back with Yagura following out of the acidic mist. Trying to draw Yagura's attention from Mei, Naruto used quicksilver to appear beside Yagura and smashed down him with a fist just in time to let Mei keep retreating.

Naruto kept throwing a barrage of fists at Yagura each one pounding him further into the ground until Yagura snapped out of the beating that he was being given and surged his chakra to blow Naruto off of him, his anger increasing he jumped at Naruto grabbing him by his shoulders and smashed him down, a tailed beast ball forming in his mouth, Naruto used a Shinra Tensei to blow Yagura away from him, and absorbed the interrupted tailed beast bomb with his Preta path. Recovering a little due to the absorbed chakra.

Mei took this chance to spray lava at the Mizukage from behind but he spun around, evaded, and rushed after her not looking to fail this time and shot out a long arm at the beautiful woman which hit her sending Mei tumbling backwards making her cough up blood. Naruto who was trying to think of a way to finish off Yagura finally decided what he was going to do. To use this plan Naruto would need to weaken Yagura and trap him at the same time. Deciding to put a massive attack into action Naruto flew through hand seals and a small black orb was created in the middle of his hands that were forming a triangular shape, Naruto threw that small ball up and a large gravitational pull was dragging Yagura and the earth surrounding them towards the small ball now growing in size.

For a few seconds the growing ball was gaining a larger gravitational pull that Yagura was struggling against and he finally succ.u.mbed to the force, being dragged through the sky towards the ball and smashed into it. Mei regaining her bearings rejoined Naruto who was concentrating on keeping the forming mass together, Yagura was not about to go down and went full Beast mode, a turtle like creature with a spiky shell erupted from the mass above the earth and launched a full powered tailed beast bomb at the pair, Mei went pale and was about to jump but didn't when Naruto blew it away with another Shinra Tensei. The three tailed turtle struggled to get free from the giant ball only to fail every time.

"Time to end this" said Naruto as he pulled out Yamato once more. He flew up to the sky leaving Mei behind.

Then he dug deep towards his soul and pointed his blade towards the front. "Cut through Judgement, Yamato!" said Naruto as he released the Shikai form of Yamato, The Devil Bringer. His left hand turned demonic with dark blue and red scaled skin. An aura of darkness with an astral projection of a devil holding another Yamato engulfed him.

"What's happening to Naruto-nii!!?" exclaimed a worried Naoko.

"It looks like he is being engulfed by a strange form of energy reminiscent to that of a sage, though at the chakra levels of a Bijuu!!" said Kakashi shocked as his exposed Sharinggan was looking at Naruto.

"How can he be so strong" said Sasuke in awe.

"Sochi, please be okay" prayed Kushina as she didn't even hear what Kakashi said, she just wanted her son to be okay.

"Nii-chan" said a worried Mito. While Hinata just stayed quiet and observed their fight diligently.

Everyone was awed at the display of such power, that even the rampaging turtle quieted down.

Smirking at the surge of energy flowing through his veins, Naruto felt intoxicated. But, he immediately woke up from his stupor. He eyed the giant ball of mass that was entrapping the Mizukage, then he turned his gaze to his hand and grinned, making the turtle gulp audibly.

"Come 'ere!!" shouted Naruto as he launched a large astral hand to grab the gigantic ball of mass "Slam dunk!" he shouted as he used his astral hand to smash said ball towards the Mizukage's Army, crushing the three tailed beast to death and almost wiping the army out.

Where the glorious army of thousands once stood, was reduced to nothing more than a large crater with the mangled dead body of the Mizukage in the center.

Naruto landed besides Mei and deactivated Yamato, he was exhausted. This was the first time he had ever fought a perfect Jinchuuriki and he had to say it was really troublesome.

"Good job" said Mei, while he replied with a thousand watt smile and a "Yeah, you too" making her heart throb.

Mei wanted to talk to him some more when suddenly a red blur glomped Naruto.

"Sochi!" exclaimed a crying Kushina as she was crushi- *cough* hugging Naruto to death "I was so worried, please don't ever do that again, please"

"Naruto-nii/Nii-chan!!" said Naoko and Mito who glomped their brother as well.

Hinata saw the complicated look on Naruto's face and understood what he was going through.

Though she still didn't like Kushina that much, that didn't mean she would thwart the woman's effort in building a new foundation for her son. Over the month that passed, Kushina had tried her hardest to regain her son's love and recognition. Hinata saw how hard Kushina worked for it, even though sometimes Naruto would ignore her or say something hurtful that she would shed a few tears, she still didn't give up and never once complained, because deep down she blamed herself for what happened, so she wanted to work diligently for her son's recognition.

Naruto was actually a bit glad that Kushina was worried for him, but a part of him still couldn't accept her. Though, pushing her away way would likely be too much so instead he just let her be. He was to exhausted to fight back anyway.

After, Kushina and the twins calmed down and Kakashi and Sasuke had joined them. Naruto went over to Hinata and gave her an affectionate hug and kiss that made Mei and the twins blush.

He then turned serious and faced Mei, "Mei, we need to get going back to Konoha" he said making Mei feel a little down, but what he said next up lifted her mood "I would also like you to come with us, as the newly appointed Mizukage so that negotiations over this alliance should begin"

"Very well, let's get going." replied Mei, happy that her village had a brighter future ahead of it, and hopefully this alliance will be a step in that direction.
