My Unexpected Marriage

(Shanell's P.O.V)

When we were in front of the door, I tripped on the step and he caught me by my waist before I fell on ground. His eyes showed me a worried look. Was he worried that something will happen to me? And also when we entered the restaurant it was decorated with my favorite flowers. How did he knew about my favorite flower? Did he intentionally asked the workers to decorate the restaurant with my favorite flower or is it a coincidence? And this romantic music and dim light makes the atmosphere more romantic. It is really romantic that I think I am falling for his charms. No way this is not right something is really wrong. The Sam Zeus I know is not romantic but an iron cold man. But the things he arranged for our first date really took my breath away. It does not seem like the man I heard is this one but someone else. This is entirely different than I thought. Even though he talk in a cold manner, there is some warmth in his expressions. Ok, now I think I should give a chance to this relationship. Thoughts about everything happening right now came across my mind.

Manager Kim brought the most expensive wine from the cellar Screaming Eagle Cabernet 1992 and poured it to Sam Zeus Joseph. Before he pouring the wine to me Sam Zeus interrupted and said.

"No, she can't have wine."

"Sorry ma'am, I will get you some water then." Manager Kim said. I didn't give any response to him.

"Miss Shanell, are you sure that you are alright?" Sam Zeus asked me.

I came back to the reality by his voice.

"Yes I am alright. I was just thinking, Mr. Sam Zeus." I said.

" Miss Shanell, you can call me Zeus." He said.

"Oh ok, you can call me Shan." I said and he nodded his head with a smirk on his face. I instantly regretted of saying that to him. Only the ones who are really close to me called me like that. Then why did I gave permission to Zeus to call that name.

"The Italian Cuisine in this restaurant is the best. So I have already ordered them to prepare a five course meal for us. Is that ok with you." He asked me.

"Yes, I am fine with it." I said while trying to suppress the excitement I had by hearing Italian Cuisine. I always loved Italian dishes. He said five course meal which means five different Italian dishes. I like this date already. Did he know that Italian cuisines are my favorite. Or is this also a mere coincidence.

" What do you want to know about me? Why did you hire people to investigate about me?" He asked in a stern voice.

A fear instantly came across my face. But I have to tell him that what I have in my mind. So that I can ask him, to at least delay the marriage.

"Yesterday my dad said that I have to marry you. But I don't even know anything about you. How can I marry someone without knowing anything about them. This is my life and I really don't want to marry someone without even loving them." I said.

"So you want to experience love. You prefer love than our business collaboration?"He asked.

How arrogant is he? How can I answer a question like that? If I say yes then he will probably cancel the marriage. I want that too but if he cancel the marriage, then it will be the end of our business. My dad will become angry and he will make me marry some other rich guy instantly. So I can never say yes to this question.

"No it's not like that, Zeus. I actually meant that I want to delay the date of our marriage." I said after thinking.

"I am sorry Shan. You like or not the marriage is happening as our parents decided." He said and took his wine glass to his lips and drank the wine in it.

I think I lost my last hope. Now I have to endure this and live like I have no choice at all.

The waiter came with our first dishes. The appetizers, Artichoke Bruschetta and Toasted Garlic Bread. I am surprised again. They are my favorite appetizers. When we finished the appetizers then came the soup. He ordered Minestrone for me and Macaroni soup for him. Then it was salad time. I wanted Spicy Italian Salad, my mind told me. I wanted to tell him that, I want it. But I don't think I have that much courage in me now. So I kept quiet. We didn't talked much in this 45 minutes. I was afraid that I will say some foolishness to him and embarrass myself for the time being.

"Shan, you are graduated from high school, right? He asked me.

"Sigh...Yes.." I said while keeping my head down to avoid his eyes with a painful smile.

Noticing my depressed smile he told me.

"I want you to do Medicine and become a doctor."

I was looking down to the half full glass water in front of me but when I heard him I looked to his face surprisingly and asked.

"WHAT???"

"I heard from Mr. Williams that you are going to take business administration as your major. But I want you to choose Medicine. I am planning to take up on a hospital after our marriage and you will be the head for it after your graduation." He said.

Before I give the answer the waiter put the Spicy Italian Salad in front of me. I was excited by hearing the news and it became double when I saw the salad.

"I will. " I said with excitement.

"You will what, Shan?"He asked me with a raised eyebrow.

"I will take medicine as my major, Zeus. I will study hard so that you will never regret this decision." I said while bowing my head.

He smiled at me and said.

"So you don't want to delay our marriage now. That's good then."

His smile let me skip my heart beat for a second. My cheeks are burning and it is slightly red. With just one smile he took my heart beat and made me blush.

"Shan, don't you like this salad?" He asked me when I was staring at him like a fool and blushing.

"Ahh.. This is embarrassing."I mumbled in a low voice so that he cannot hear me.

"Do you want to replace the dish?" He inquired.

"No, I was lost in my thoughts. Sorry. Actually this is my favorite salad. You don't have to replace it."I said.

"Hmm."

The main dish and desert were also my favorite, Chicken Marsala and Roasted Potatoes and Classic Tiramisu. We didn't talked much even though I wanted to ask him about so many things. After we had the desert he said.

"I will tell Mr. Williams about your change in plan of studying business administration."

"Hmm" I nodded my head.

"How was the dinner? Do you like it?"He asked me.

" Hmm. I had a good time." I said.

"Let's go for another date again then."He said.

I smiled and nodded with a pleasing expression.

"So Shan, if you want to know anything. Now you know what to do, right?" He asked me.

"Yes Zeus I will ask if I need to know anything." I said.

We came out of the restaurant and I suddenly remembered I had to ask Zeus something else.

"Zeus, Can I ask you something?" I asked in a doubt.

He looked at me. I understood the meaning of his look. He was waiting for me to ask.

"Did you arrange this date by knowing my every favorite thing?" I asked.

He raised his hand and tucked the hair which fell on my face behind my ear. Then he touched my chin allowing me to look into his eyes and said.

"Of course my dear Shan. I know everything about you."

Then my Porsche arrived in front of us. He opened the door for me and let me get in the car. Uncle Zen greeted him and entered the car.

"Goodnight, Shan dear." He said and closed the door.

"Goodnight, Zeus" I said.

The car moved. We went home with beautiful memories of our first date. And I regretted for being judgmental towards him.
