My Sunshine: Glad To Find You

Chapter 43 - I am hurt...

After a few days of hard work, the paint job was done. All that is left to do was order the furniture and set it up. During these days, Jess was still living at her place and refused to move in with John to his old place. He tried to convince her, but she didn't change her decision.

In the office, people seemed to forget that he even had a cold attitude. He always had a spring-like aura around him these days.

"I wonder what changed his behaviour so much," whispered one.

"Boss was only cold to us for a few weeks, everything gradually changed."

"Maybe as he had joined the office, he wanted to set up an image but did not do so."

"No, it is not possible. I have read articles on him, all of them say the same."

John and Jess were busy with the team of developers working on the first stage of the project. They had to often pull night overs to finish off a segment of the work.

On weekends, they would go for shopping to buy suitable items for their place.

"Hey, is this picture looking good here?" Jess was up on a stool, holding their picture taken on the day of engagement.

"Perfect!" John put a nail on the wall and she put it up on the wall.

They were now in the little walkway which connected all the rooms on the first level of the villa. Jess wanted to fill the space up with photographs to serve as a walk down the memory lane.

"Done." As Jess turned around to step down from the stool, she lost her balance and was about to fall.

"Ahh!" she shouted.

John moved to her at a lightning speed and caught her up in arms, but as he suddenly moved, he too lost his balance and they both fell down.

Jess slowly opened her eyes and sees that John had tightly held her in his arms and now, she was on top of him.

His eyes were staring hers and she could not move her gaze away from his mesmerizing blue eyes. His deep breaths fanned her cheeks.

"Oh! Thanks." Jess recovered first from the reverie and John loosened his grip on her. She quickly got up and helped him up.

"Are you hurt somewhere?" there was a concern in Jessica's voice.

"Yes. I am."

"Where?" She tried to look around for wounds.

"Here." John pointed at his heart and smiled mischievously.

"You." her cheeks were blushed. Jessica turned around and wanted to arrange other things in the room, but John held her wrists and pushed her up against the wall. His left arm was on the wall and she was completely trapped.

"What are you doing? Let me go." Jess tried to protest but John slowly inched closer. There was little to no space left between their lips. He looked up her captivating gray eyes.

"I said I am hurt. Are you not going to help me?"

"No. I cannot help you." Jess felt her heart, beat out of her ribcage due to their proximity.

"Only you can help me."

His lips captured hers. Jess felt her heart skip a beat. John lifted up her hand and put it on his shoulders. He then placed his hands at her nape and angled her head to deepen the kiss. Jess felt her knees gave way and held his shirt tighter to balance her. John pulled her body towards him and supported her. They both let out a small m.o.a.n.

After what felt like an eternity, they slowly pulled apart. They were out of their breaths and Jessica's cheeks were burning. She could not look at him; she hugged his tighter and hid her face on his c.h.e.s.t.
