My Sunshine: Glad To Find You

John shielded Jess and pushed her behind him.

His eyes glaring at the man in front of him.🥺

The man slowly turned towards them. Rose is Jessica's friend so he let her go, but what who was this man? Why did he get in between them? His eyes turned red with fury. He tried to punch John back but was not successful. John dodged his attack easily and in turn pushed him.

The man fell down. He shouted, "Jess just listen to me once. Come with me back."

He couldn't stand up again. John threw another punch at his face. His Cheek was swollen and the corner of his mouth was bleeding profusely.

"You said you want to speak with her, but I won't let you harm her"

John then turned towards Rose and helped her up. Mr. Cox came up and told them that two cars were ready. John told him to send Rose home. He assured her that he would send Jess home safely.

Rose was skeptical about him earlier. She wanted to reject him but realization dawned upon her. The guy seemed to know Jess. They must have known each other. She looked at Jess, who was still bewildered and shocked to even say something, she needed someone to bring her out that state.

Rose agreed to his proposal and told him her address and gave her the apartment keys.

'The guy looks like a gentleman. He will not take advantage of her. I should still call and inform someone her brother'

With this thought in mind, she followed Mr. Cox and entered the car. On her way home, she called Jack and asked him to make sure Jess was doing well at home. She told him that Jess had a scare on her way back home and that he should check up on her. He readily agreed and assured her that he would take care of her.

Everyone had left the place except John and Jessica.

Jessica stood at the same place, unmoving, like a statue. He knew how scared she must have been when he started dragging her. He wished he had protected her better. He took off his coat and put it on her shoulder. When he felt her flinch at his touch, he assured her.

"It is quite cold here. Here, take it. I will drop you at your place"

Jess felt the sudden warmth that surrounded her. She felt happy that he came here on time.

"Thanks for everything you did for me today. I am good now, I can go back home by myself. I won't trouble you any longer"

She turned away from him and started walking. Well, luck was not on her side. The alcohol she consumed earlier, started showing its effects. She had barely taken a few steps forward when she stumbled.

She was ready to meet her doom, meet the hard floor head-on.

'Why doesn't it hurt me?'

She slowly opened her eyes and saw that John had held her back. He pulled her towards him and saved her.

"Let's go home"

Jess followed him and John started driving.

She was feeling hot all of a sudden and struggled to remove his jacket.

"Why is it not going away? Make it go away"

John noticed that her cheeks were turning red.

'Damn! Did she really have to drink so much? Thank god she was sober when he tried to harm her. How will I deal with all these now?'
