My Hero Academia : Life Is A Game!?

Chapter 1 - The Start of a Journey

QOTD: Sometimes life has an unexpected turn. Many people decide to just give up whatever they are going, but I'd say keep on going through. Something good might happen in return.

Midoryia's eyes flickered open in a plain, yet unvarying action. His empty mind gazed at the pearl white walls and overheard movement around. An unfamiliar menu emerged in front of his eyes as it presented,

"WELCOME TO THE GAME OF LIFE!"

Midoryia was startled at first when he saw the screen and when he realized he was in the hospital. He wondered, 'How did I even get here and what is this strange screen? Eeurgh... How did I even get here?'

A doctor would wave his hand in front of the blank face Midoryia only to find him startled and would begin to emote emotion onto his face. The doctor's face would be slightly startled by that when Midoryia nodded his head and spoke out,

"Midoryia you've been in a coma for about three days straight, you should eat. We'll bring the food with you." The doctor was obviously concerned about Midoryia's health when he made that statement in which Midoryia nodded his head.

Midoryia looked around to see a T.V. replaying a few old cartoons which were played by DVD since most old cartoons were never aired, or rarely aired on Television. Midoryia would watch it absentmindedly while waiting for his food.

Soon enough food came while it wasn't hot, and tasted insipid, yet it still stuffed his stomach to the dismay of its capacity. When he was finished, a nurse came and picked up the tray which had some trash on it. After that, the doctor came in and said in a welcoming type of tone,

"Well, Midoryia. Since you have been inactive in exercise and your body is still rather weak due to the three-day coma. I'll have to prescribe you to Physical Therapy to get your body back into working order."

Midoryia quickly nodded his head in response to what the doctor said. "When do you think I'll come back to school?" Midoryia worried about his grades as he knew it would have to be well-damn near perfect to get into UA. From what he had been told at least.

The doctor looked over at Midoryia and g.r.o.a.n.e.d, "You should be fine after a day of therapy. Where we can let you go, but you'll have to come to therapy and do their exercises." The doctor immediately responded in which Midoryia nerves were clipped short.

Midoryia would sway his head while he transpired over to the WELCOME screen and gazed at it with his mind when he regarded an indicator to move on. And handled his cognition to rap on the indicator.

Midoryia lamented and conceived, 'At least I don't have anyone looking at me like I was insane or something.'

Midoryia looked at when the screen changed as it gave him a simple tutorial on how to learn the workings of this 'Game' or whatever it wanted to refer to itself as.

[

Shop - A place where you buy things with reputation points.

Quests - Quests are where you can meet certain requirements to get a reward for your actions.

Character Page - Where the player can see their skills, statistics, and other minor details.

Parties - You can invite non-players to a party in which they are semi-permanent in the system.

]

After reading the short descriptions of 'shop', 'quests', 'character page', and 'parties'. Midoryia would nod in his mind at these modest descriptions and lightly understood the functions of each of these and brought up his own character page with his mind.

Same with your agility. Your endurance is high. You are a pitiful existence in the world, and your lack of power proves that.

]

Midoryia would be disgruntled by his own description, but his Wit and Endurance was certainly fairly high compared to normal people or so he thought. As putting numerical value doesn't help people for they can choose to be smart or incredibly retarded.

After poking around with the stat pages and examining the circ.u.mstance. Midoryia felt like with this he could become a hero, but not a number one hero. Perhaps one of the top ten at most.

A few months ago with a favorable meeting with All Might had changed his outlook on the world. But he still wanted to be a hero, but he wasn't precisely sure which way to become a hero.

Midoryia thought up a name for this 'Game' thing and went down with 'The System of Life' or TSL for short. It was uncomplicated and made it straightforward to call upon by memory. And a reminder at what had started.

After all that thinking he got up and had a struggle trying to get up due to how he was lying unconscious at the time. He inched his way towards the door using the wall.

During his struggles getting to the room, one of the nurses was generous enough to help the quirkless child get to the room. In which Midoryia punctually appreciated her for her efforts with a child-like smile on his face.

Midoryia would eventually meet his therapist in which he would do fundamental stretches to help his body function better. Crackling of joints were promptly discovered as Midoryia would murmur in insignificant discomfort.

The therapist would speak out, "That cracking is perfectly normal, Midoryia. You're just moving muscles that you haven't applied previously, and muscles that you haven't exercised in a couple of days."

During a part of the time during their simplistic exercises, a noise was heard that made him wince. Which the therapist discerned the suspicious action, and quartered it off as him overhearing a crash far away or something that made a racket that put him on edge.

"Strength, Endurance + 1

Light Exercise Skill Unlocked!"

Midoriya would settle that noise to the back of his own head, currently disinterested in the notification. Later on in the exercise, the noise developed again notifying a level up in Light Exercise Skill, and an improvement in Strength and Endurance once again.

Soon after the therapist was concluded with the exercise, Midoryia was sweating ballocks and heaving. It certainly left him partly out of it. Midoryia would soon apprehend how much enjoyment he had exercised. Watching the numbers swell up and the enthusiasm of his c.h.e.s.t bobbing up and down.

Midoryia skipped back to his medical room where he was currently staying at and would collapse on the bed in an exhausted manner. He looked up at the ceiling which was just as unattractive looking like the walls were as Midoryia gradually strayed off to slumber.
