196 Nice But Risky Move

"Fred!" Jim exclaimed as Fred quickly jumped up to send the ball flying toward the goalpost from twenty yards out.

The shot power behind the volley was powerful and the goalkeeper was pinned to the spot but it was no use as the ball ended up hitting the right post before rolling out for a goal kick and as soon as that happened, the referee blew his whistle twice to bring the first half to an end.

"Oh, that was so close but it was not meant to be," Jim said.

"Come on!" Fred yelled in frustration before crashing to the floor.

"That's the end of the first half, it has surely been one-sided but it has been entertaining enough, the chances from the Bilbeth Premier League side have been really good, especially both of those shots from Dave, it's crazy that he has two shots on target in three matches and both of them had come all the way from his goalpost." Jim articulated. "The first half comes to an end with Unique FC leading with one goal, I think they should have gotten more."

"Yeah, they wasted a lot of chances, twelve shots and only four of them were on target," Steve said.

"Yeah, let's hope SD Eibar can use this to their advantage and make a possible comeback in the next half, that will be nice to see don't you think Steve?"

"Yeah, really nice."

Unique FC players were in the locker room now with the ones who had been doing most of the running with water bottles in their hands as they needed to refill some of the fluid they had lost.

Norman was standing in front of them as usual and he didn't have a pleased look on his face which was a surprise to the young ones who thought maintaining lead was all that really mattered despite wasting all those good chances.

"You guys are playing well alright, as expected but have you forgotten how to score? Especially you Fred, Dave from the goalpost has better accuracy than you."

"Getting roasted by the coach isn't a regular thing but that's the truth," Minino said. That was meant to annoy Fred as he was sitting right beside the striker.

"I know we're leading but you guys should know that it's not over yet, and leading a match with just one goal isn't enough to relax as it can be canceled at any time with just a slip of concentration.

"Our team is a good example of how teams can change and play way better than they did in the first half, you had your chances and you wasted them, who knows if they might just get better than us in the second half."

"Then a change of tactics will be good if that should happen," Adolf said.

"Yeah, and I know just the right tactic but we'll have to wait and see how they play in the second half."

The break was finally over and the players were making their way back to the pitch now for the second half to kick off.

"The break has come to an end and the players are making their way to the pitch now to give us the rest of the match," Jim said.

"Unique FC could either cling on to this one goal lead and win the match or they could get more goals and end it on a higher tone and Eibar could either get an equalizer and be content with that or completely turn the match around but honestly I don't see them doing any of that if they continue playing the way they did in the first half." Steve expressed.

"I'm sure there's going to be an improvement as a couple of players have been replaced but it looks like there's no change on Unique FC's side," Jim said.

Fred was standing over the ball now and as soon as he heard the referee's whistle, he quickly passed the ball to Frankie who didn't hesitate to roll it back to Norman before they could get to him.

"We are on the way once again and it looks like Unique FC are not going to give up possession anytime soon," Jim said.

The players passed the ball around in their own half, toying with Eibar players who were getting frustrated now and were beginning to get aggressive with the way they were chasing the ball but that was no use as the Bilbeth Premier League side just increased the tempo of their passes and made it more interesting.

Roland received the ball from Martinez and just before the right winger heading toward him could get to him, he quickly shifted toward the middle and took off.

"Roland's been set loose on one of his runs," Jim said.

"And usually when he goes on these runs, something good happens for his team," Steve said.

The player chasing him tried to get hold of him but he was just too fast and just before he could run into somewhere he could lose the ball, he quickly sent it rolling to Mateo who was quickly trying to cover up on the left wing but the right back there was quick to react stopping him from doing anything dangerous and forcing him to roll the ball back to Harry to avoid losing it.

"Looks like the attack has been slowed down, but it's not over yet," Steve said.

With almost all the players on the other side now, Dave had the free space to leave his box and even walk a little closer to the middle just in case.

Harry passed the ball to Roland in a tricky spot with two players around him but the left-back managed to find the space to set up Fred with a through pass inside the box but before the striker could get to the ball, it was cleared by the defender there, Roland seemed to have over hit the pass a little.

"Nice clearance, that was a dangerous moment there."

The ball was sent flying directly toward Dave with Borja quickly heading toward him to try and knock the ball off him but before the striker could get to the ball, Dave got a touch on the ball and moved away from his path with it.

"Nice thinking from Dave, nobody was back there and it would have been over if Borja had gotten that ball," Jim said.

"Yeah, but it was also a risky move, if Borja had gotten that ball from him, there would have been no stopping him," Steve said.

Two SD Eibar players were heading toward the goalkeeper but he didn't care as he pushed the ball past the middle line and pulled back his leg to send it flying toward the goalpost.

"It's another one of his impossible shots and this time he's close enough!" Jim exclaimed.

The ball flew through the middle and halfway through, it curved a little to the left.

"Dave!" Jim exclaimed as the goalkeeper dived toward the ball with both of his hands.
