My Dragon

Chapter 69

Chapter 69: Dad, explain, what’s going on here?

Fei Cheng leaned over and turned on the bedside lamp, then turned his ear to listen.

“I hear it!” He immediately rolled out of bed. “You stay here, I’ll go check.”

Nan HuaiLin’s eyesight hadn’t yet returned, so he sat on the bed. He heard the baby’s cries more and more clearly, and his heart beat faster and faster.

When his eyes blurred and he could see, he fumbled to find clothes and put them on. Then he heard Fei Cheng’s shout from afar, “Wife! He’s turning into a human!”

Nan HuaiLin didn’t know what he was nervous about. It felt like his heart was about to jump out of his mouth. He wanted to rush over, but his body felt like it was frozen. He sat on the edge of the bed and couldn’t move, he couldn’t even make a sound.

Soon, Fei Cheng carried Dragon Two into the bedroom. He sat next to Nan HuaiLin, and said excitedly, “Look, our son. Doesn’t he look like you?”

Nan HuaiLin looked at the baby in Fei Cheng’s arms with disbelief. Only after a while did he reach out his hand, which was trembling slightly, and take the baby from Fei Cheng’s hands.

The little baby looked about a year old. He had small arms and legs, white and tender, really pink. His little face was exquisite, more beautiful than he just dreamed of. His small mouth was pink, and his small nose round and delicate. Especially the pair of big eyes with tears, just one look and the heart would melt.

Tears somehow fell down, and dropped on the little baby’s face.

Nan HuaiLin said with a smile, “What’s wrong? Why am I crying?”

Fei Cheng put his arm around him. He gave him tears with one hand, and said with a smile, “You are crying from joy.”

The baby was giggling in his arms, very happy. Nan HuaiLin kissed his forehead, and said with a smile, “I feel like I just had a C-section in the hospital, and my husband brought the newborn to me. Nervous, throbbing, happy, overwhelmed…It’s too complicated to explain.”

“I understand.” Fei Cheng kissed him. “Before he was a little dragon cub, although it is said to be raising a son, but in fact, it feels similar to raising a pet. Now that he has become a human, the feeling is naturally different. From now on, we are truly upgraded to be fathers.”

Nan HuaiLin nodded, “That’s right, I…”

He stopped abruptly as the baby in his arms turned back into a dragon cub in the blink of an eye, and fell into his lap with a snap.

Nan HuaiLin, “…”

Fei Cheng, “…”

Dragon Two steadied itself before he rolled to the ground. His little head fluttered, as he looked confusedly at Nan HuaiLin, then at Fei Cheng, and blinked out two teardrops.

Nan HuaiLin, “…”

Fei Cheng, “…”

Dragon Two waved his wings and flew up. He landed on Nan HuaiLin’s still open arm, stretched his head and took his little red nipple through his clothes.

“Hahahaha!” Fei Cheng suddenly burst out laughing.

Nan HuaiLin sighed, lifted up his shirt to feed Dragon Two, and turned his head to look at Fei Cheng. “Dad, explain. What is this all about?”

“Wait,” Fei Cheng couldn’t stop laughing. “Let me laugh for a while, that image just now is really too funny. Hahaha!”

Nan HuaiLin, “…”

He then pondered on his own.

Before, Fei Cheng had said that the baby dragon needed to spend about six months at cub stage to become human. Now Dragon Two became a human early, most likely because he ate breast milk, as this was the only difference between him and his brothers.

But Dragon Two was still too young. It was impossible for him to switch back and forth between human and dragon form like Fei Cheng. So whether he was turning human or dragon, Dragon Two couldn’t control himself, but was in a random mode.

Fei Cheng finally stopped laughing and said his guess, which wasn’t far from Nan HuaiLin’s idea. He glanced at the time. 3:30 a.m. “I’ll ask my brother later, but I reckon this should be beyond his knowledge.”

Dragon Two fell asleep when he was full, so Nan HuaiLin sent him to his room. He looked at One, Three and Four who were sleeping soundly, before going back to the bedroom.

“If it’s really because of the breast milk,” Nan HuaiLin said as he undressed. “Then we have to feed them one by one so they can all become human soon.”

Fei Cheng nodded. “Dragon Two has only been breastfed for a week in total. This effect is too strong. It’s unbelievable.”

Nan HuaiLin went to bed and lay down. Fei Cheng came over and lowered his head to take the little red nipple that Dragon Two hadn’t sucked just now, licked and sucked it. It was full of sweetness.

Nan HuaiLin put his hand in his hair, and said regretfully, “I should have taken a picture just now. I don’t know when Dragon Two will become human next.”

Fei Cheng took two sips to satisfy his craving then lifted his head and smiled, “Maybe he will become human again when he wakes up.”

Nan HuaiLin hmmed and yawned. “Sleep. I’m so sleepy.”

Fei Cheng turned off the light, reached out, brought him in his arms and couldn’t resist kissing him before he fell asleep with him.

The next morning, Dragon Two didn’t turn into a baby as they had hoped. Fei Cheng called Fei Zheng to ask, but Fei Zheng also had no answer. Nan HuaiLin wasn’t disappointed. He thought it would be good to let nature take its course.

During breakfast, Lancelot asked, “Fei Cheng, what were you yelling about in the middle of the night last night? You woke me up on the first floor.”

“Oh, nothing,” Fei Cheng said. “I had a bad dream.”

Lancelot said, “You still have nightmares? That’s new.”

Fei Cheng said, “I dreamed you were bald, and it was especially scary.”

“Fuck off,” Lancelot laughed. “I wouldn’t be bald if you were bald.”

Nan HuaiLin dragged Dragon One, who had grabbed his brother’s meat, back and turned to Lancelot and said, “Little Blue, I’m not working today. You can go out, have some fun and take a break.”

Lancelot shook his head. “I don’t want to go out.”

Nan HuaiLin said nothing more.

After a period of silence, Lancelot suddenly said, “Fei Cheng, is your birthday coming up?”

“Hmm?” Fei Cheng froze. “I haven’t had a birthday in years. I’ve forgotten which day it is.”

Lancelot picked up his phone and looked at it. “March 3rd. Just next Wednesday.”

Fei Cheng, “Oh.” Obviously not serious about it.

Over the next few days, Dragon Two never changed into his human form again. Nan HuaiLin almost thought he was dreaming that night.

On Monday, Nan HuaiLin went to the office to attend the inauguration of the studio. The studio plus Man Tianzhu totaled eight people, each with their own division of labor, but all girls. He was told it wasn’t intentional, but Nan HuaiLin didn’t believe it.

After the simple ceremony, Nan HuaiLin invited everyone to dinner, and Fei Cheng, as the artist’s director, also went along. Fei Cheng had asked his secretary to make a reservation for the restaurant, a high-end seafood buffet. Because of his pregnancy vomiting, Nan HuaiLin recently had no appetite for anything. He only craved seafood, fish, shrimp, crab and shellfish alike.

The group entered the private room. They were a little formal. After all, Fei Cheng was the brother of the big boss. The people here had to look to him to act.

“Don’t be formal, we should eat and drink,” Nan HuaiLin said. “Sister XiaoZhu, you take everyone to get the food first.”

Man Tianzhu then led the group of girls out. Nan HuaiLin whispered to Fei Cheng, “Why don’t you say you’ll follow. Everyone doesn’t dare to even talk. You’d better go back first.”

Fei Cheng said, “I’ll leave after I finish eating with you. You sit down, I’ll get the food.”

The girls ate very little in order to keep their bodies in shape, so each of them only had a few bits of food on their plates.

Fei Cheng was different. He came back with two big plates full of food, piled up like a mountain. Nan HuaiLin was shocked by him.

Fei Cheng put the two big plates of food in front of himself. Nan HuaiLin froze and asked in a small voice, “You didn’t get me a plate?”

Fei Cheng hooked his lips. “You can just wait and eat.” Shortly after, he put the peeled prawns on a plate in front of Nan HuaiLin, and said with a smile, “Eat.”

The seafood was delicious, but it was a pain in the ass to eat, so Fei Cheng concentrated on peeling the shrimp and picking the fish and crab meat, while Nan HuaiLin ate.

If it was just the two of them, Nan HuaiLin would have enjoyed Fei Cheng’s service, but when a table of more than a dozen eyes was watching, he was a little embarrassed and couldn’t lift his head up.

It wasn’t that he was afraid of anything. Since he announced his marriage on Twitter a long time ago, he didn’t want to hide it. Not to mention that all the people here were employees of his personal studio. Sooner or later they would know about his relationship with Fei Cheng, but it seemed too soon to show off at the first dinner.

In order not to let the atmosphere become too frozen, Man Tianzhu took the initiative to take up the important task of livening up the atmosphere. She pulled the girl next to her to chat, and distracted some attention from the pair’s reckless love show.

With half of the plate of fish, shrimp and crab down, Nan HuaiLin had eaten his fill, and shook his head to refuse Fei Cheng’s feeding, which left Fei Cheng to solve the remaining pile of food. Nan HuaiLin was quietly listening to others chat. Sometimes someone would talk to him and he would return a few words.

A girl sitting to Nan HuaiLin’s right, boldly asked him, “Are you and Director Fei Cheng good friends?”

Nan HuaiLin swept a glance at Fei Cheng, remained silent for two seconds and replied with a smile, “No, he’s my husband.”
