Nan HuaiLin was dumbfounded. “Liar…Lied to me?”

Fei Cheng smiled and said, “Yes. I will still live a long time together with you.”

Nan HuaiLin looked at him in a daze.

Fei Cheng explained seriously, “The natural lifespan of a dragon is about 1,800 years. After breaking the 49th dragon bone, the lifespan will be reduced by two-thirds, which means only 600 years.”

Nan HuaiLin calculated for a moment, then replied, “Three hundred and thirty-six years.”

“Congratulations, you got it right.” Fei Cheng came over, and rewarded him with a kiss. Then he said, “I told you before. Dragon essence is the most potent thing in my body. As long as I irrigate you with dragon essence every day, you can live as long as me. Maybe even longer than me.
Are you happy?”

Nan HuaiLin shook his head. “I don’t want to live longer than you. I just want to live and die together with you.”

Fei Cheng nodded vigorously. “Okay. Live together, die together.”

“But,” Nan HuaiLin wondered. “Why did your brother lie to me?”

“My brother’s mental activity at the time was probably like this,” Fei Cheng coughed. “My brother broke his bones to be with this lovely human, I have to say something serious to scare him, so that he will love my brother with all his heart, and won’t leave my brother in his lifetime. Nan HuaiLin lay in his arms with his pillow, and answered, “yes,” in a good manner.

He gently put his hand over Fei Cheng’s broken bone, and couldn’t help but ask again, “Does it really not hurt?”

Fei Cheng grabbed his hand, and held it in his palm. He didn’t answer but instead asked, “Do you know why I decided to break the bone so decisively?”

Nan HuaiLin tilted his head to look at him. “Why?”

Fei Cheng said, “Because of my brother.”

Nan HuaiLin quietly waited for the rest.

Fei Cheng said slowly, “A long time ago, my brother also loved someone deeply. They lived together for two hundred years, but that person still died. After the death of his lover, my brother’s whole being changed. He had been a very gentle person, but became colder and colder, and never smiled happily again. Fei Cheng said, “You know Ruan Xin, right?”

Nan HuaiLin said, “Of course.” He quietly added, “Ruan Xin is my god.”

Fei Cheng said, “Ruan Xin looks exactly the same as my brother’s dead lover.”

Nan HuaiLin was taken aback, and jerked his head up. He accidentally hit Fei Cheng’s chin, which caused him to cry out in pain.

Nan HuaiLin hurriedly rubbed his jaw, then eagerly asked, “Is he really the same?”

“Of course it’s true,” Fei Cheng took him back into his arms, and hugged him. “I was shocked when I first saw Ruan Xin. I thought that person had come back from the dead.”

Nan HuaiLin asked, “Then your brother and Ruan Xin…Are they together now?”

“I don’t really know,” Fei Cheng said, “I tried to check Ruan Xin twice, but I didn’t find any clues.”

Nan HuaiLin suddenly understood what Ruan Xin had meant by ‘selfishness’ in the first place.

He was ashamed of his own nasty thoughts.

“Let’s not talk about them, but about us.” Fei Cheng said. “My brother and the dragons won’t be back for at least a week, so what do you want to do for a week? Hubby is with you.”

Nan HuaiLin abruptly sat up, and dragged Fei Cheng up too. Then he pulled open the drawer of the bedside table, took out a velvet box and sat down facing Fei Cheng. Suddenly, he was a little embarrassed, so he lowered his head and said, “I want to go back home to Suzhou. You can accompany me.”

Fei Cheng couldn’t move his eyes from the velvet box in his hand. He seemed to not understand what he was saying. He froze. “Ah?” he said.

Nan HuaiLin still kept his head down. “I have to ask my parents for my family register.”

Fei Cheng gave another dumb, “Huh?”

Nan HuaiLin finally opened the velvet box under Fei Cheng’s eager gaze. Inside was a simple but generously shaped white gold ring.

There’s an old song that said, “If you’ve been loved, who else can you be foolish for?” Fei Cheng gave him the best love in the world, and he would never be able to move for anyone other than Fei Cheng in his life.

So, on the day Fei Zheng gave him the bone ring, he went to the mall and bought a ring. He had planned to propose to Fei Cheng as soon as he returned.

Now, it was the perfect moment.

Nan HuaiLin plucked up his courage, looked up at Fei Cheng, smiled shyly and said, “Mr. Fei Cheng. I want to have a wedding. To tie the knot with you. Will you do it?”
