Divine Diary Ch 19 Raid Attack

Right now, Su Hao was playing hide and seek with the three brats. 

He had discovered them as they had been walking over to his house. The three were acting sneakily, and it could be seen they were up to no good. So Su Hao hid behind a tree beforehand, thinking He Qingqing would quickly give up after not being able to find him.

He Qingqing’s three arrived at Su Hao’s house, and after they didn’t see Su Hao went to find him in a different direction. 

It was at this time the bell rang three times. 

What was that? Su Hao had never encountered this situation before and naturally didn’t know what had happened. He saw the other families quickly close their doors and windows, and the warriors were taking their blades and going towards the village wall. 

Su Hao immediately recognized that this ought to mean that something had happened. Perhaps there was a fierce beast raid attack. But this kind of matter wouldn’t require a child to worry about it. The warriors stationed at Cha Mountain Outpost were all elite-level warriors. If elite-level warriors can’t handle it, he would just be delivering his little head faster. At this time, the best thing to do was to learn from the other households and close the door and quietly stay inside.

But what about the three brats he had just seen? He couldn’t just not care about them.

“So troublesome! Little brats really are the most annoying.” Su Hao jumped down from the tree and returned to the house to grab a knife to carry on him. Then he chased after the direction where the three kids had gone. 

He Qingqing had also heard the alarm. She knew that it only rang when the village was under attack from fierce beasts.

A single ring meant there was no danger. Three rings mean there was danger. Six rings mean the village may be destroyed. If there were nine rings, it meant a beast tide was coming and they had to run. 

“Qingqing, what should we do? Do we still look for Xiangwu?” Little fatty asked worriedly. Right now, he only wanted to go home and stay there.

He Qingqing thought about it, but said firmly: “Daddy and the others are there. There definitely won’t be any issues. We finally thought of a way to take care of Xiangwu. We can’t give up that easily.” 

Seeing little fatty and snotnose Tao both still hesitant, she added: “Let’s keep looking for a bit. If we can’t find him, we’ll go back.”

Old Li used his shield to block a coyote that had come flying in from the left. He tucked his head in and avoided another coyote that had lunged for his throat. He saw an opportunity and swung his blade up. 

“Tear~” came the sound of the blade ripping through the coyote that was still in mid-air. There was a long slit cut open through its abdomen and its internal organ fell to the ground. The coyote’s entire body slammed into the snow and it whimpered at Old Li while it struggled to get back up. 

Looking around Old Li, there were already seven or eight dead coyotes. 

However, in his surroundings, there were even more coyotes. Dozens of them stared at Old Li hungrily

“Come on you brutes! Hahaha!” Old Li smacked his shield with his blade, letting out a provocative noise.

Five coyotes flew out of pack and the others were preparing to make their moves.

“Bulwark Shield!”

Old Li’s blood qi surged, and he swept his shield around in a circle.

This was Old Li’s combat skill which could block any coyotes that came close that could hit the coyotes far away. But Old Li only hit one with his shield. Only the coyote that was sent flying let out a whimper and landed on the snow, no longer moving. 

“Shit!” Old Li didn’t get happy and instead cursed. 

The other four coyotes had lowered their bodies and reached his body, their mouths wide open and bit at his ankles. 

Old Li knew that once his ankles had been bit, it would be difficult to make them let go. Even if you smashed the coyote’s head in, their teeth could still tightly clasp the flesh.

Old Li let out a cry of pain but he didn’t have the time to kill the four coyotes. He could see the surrounding coyotes had opened their bloody maws and had come flying over.

Old Li used his shield to send one flying and used his blade to kill another one. He could no longer avoid by the third and he was about to be bitten on the throat.

“Shua~” a cold light flashed by. The third coyote was bisected and fell far off in the distance. At this time, a tall figure appeared by Old Li’s side. It was Cha Mountain Outpost’s captain He Jianyong. 

“Captain!” Old Li’s eyes lit up as he recovered his strength, swept with his shield and knocked the fourth coyote away. Without worry or hesitation, Old Li brought up his blade and hacked the four coyotes that were biting at his ankles. 

With the cooperation fo He Jianyong, the ten-plus coyotes were quickly slaughtered and the remaining two tucked their tails and ran.

Old Li plopped to the ground and cleaned his feet’s wounds, excitedly saying: “Captain, you arrived just on time. It’s just my luck that I didn’t lose my life.”

Captain He Jianyong didn’t want to talk with Old Li. For a single person, no amount of lives would be enough to face the pack of coyotes, and even charge into them. Seeing that Old Li didn’t have any major injuries, he said: “Behind there’s still a large pack of coyotes at the village. I’ll go back first. You follow behind. Be a bit more careful.

Returning to the wall, there was a large back of coyotes continually charging at the wall. There were at least a hundred of them, but there were only thirty warriors stationed at Cha Mountain Outpost. There was too big a difference in number. But every warrior was an elite-level warrior, holding sharp blades. Each one was much stronger than a coyote. 

The coyotes leaped one after another, leaping onto the eight meter tall wall. Three to four in each group, facing off against a Cha Mountain Outpost warrior, and they began to fight. From time to time, a coyote was chopped in half by a blade and fell off the the wall. Other times, a warrior was not cautious enough and had their throat bitten, dying in pain. 

It was when the fighting was most heated that He Jianyong joined the battle. The flash of the blade went by and several coyotes were sent down the wall. The warriors saw and cheered, their confidence increased.

Very soon, the coyotes were pushed. Leaving behind a ground full of corpses, the remaining thirty coyotes quickly retreated.

“Captain, when that large group of coyotes charged in, a few coyotes were able to sneak past.” A warrior suddenly thought of something and spoke.

“What? Why didn’t you say it earlier! Go! We’re going back now and finding those pests.” He Jianyong was surrounded by a killing air as he raised his hand and brought his men to rush back.

Wu Yuntian was a step ahead of everyone else. As soon as he heard some coyotes that entered, Wu Yuntian, covered in blood, had immediately rushed towards the village.  

“Xiangwu, nothing better have happened to you!” WuYuntian had already lost his wife. If he lost his son too, then he would have nothing left in this world. After thinking of this, blood qi surged to his feet and his speed became even faster.

Their eyes lit up when they saw Su Hao.

Su Hao didn’t give them a chance to speak and sternly asked: “What are you guys doing? Don’t you know there’s danger right now? Hurry back!” 

Su Hao may be shorter than them, but he had used such an elder-like tone to question them. They not only didn’t listen, but instead they were angry. 

He Qingqing pouted and snorted: “I won’t!”

Su Hao felt a headache coming: “Bis Sis, don’t you know what time this is. Are you trying to play with your life?”

“I don’t need you to worry about it. Are you my companion? Why would I listen to you?” He Qingqing saw Su Hao’s franticness, but she wasn’t. Aside from her desire to fight Su Hao, she believed more in her father. 

Su Hao considered whether or not he should knock this little lady out and then drag her away. But he wasn’t sure if he’d be able to control his strength properly and avoid killing them. 

He considered how to respond before saying: “Then what needs to happen to make you obediently go back?”

He Qingqing said: “That’s simple. As long as you play with us, I’ll listen to you.”

Su Hao didn’t even think before replying: “Okay okay okay! I’ll listen to you and play with you alright? Go home! Go home!”

He Qingqing jumped for joy: “You promise? No take backs!”

“No take backs!”

He Qingqing waved: “Snotnose Tao, little fatty, let’s go home.”

“Okay!”

Just as He Qingqing began to walk back, she pointed at Su Hao’s back and screamed: “Watch out! Wolf!”

Su Hao spun his head around and saw a coyote rushing at him. The wolf was much taller than him and its mouth was wide open with a dense array of fangs.
