My Dad is My Mom’s Mortal Enemy

Cheng Jinlan wanted to hug Cheng LiQi over, but she was holding something in her hand and it was a bit difficult to hug her over with one hand given their current position. She pressed her forehead against hers, "Were you scared by the loud barking?"

She first parked his car in the yard, then parked her own car in the yard. Cheng LiQi had already brought him inside. She first took out mom's slippers, then took out the slippers dad wore last time and gave them to dad, and finally took out her own cute little bunny slippers.

Shao Chengze replied, "Probably because...dad has to protect you and mom."

Cheng LiQi suddenly understood and looked at dad with great admiration. "I know! Dad must be able to protect me and mom. Dad's hands are so big, he must be better at killing mosquitoes than an electric swatter. Right, dad?"

"Mm." Cheng Jinlan quickly turned and stepped into the bathroom.

Shao Chengze watched her back. His deep eyes flickered. He understood some things too late and had also missed too much. He didn't even know where to start making up for it now.

Cheng LiQi leaned against dad, kicking her feet and tapping the sofa along with the rhythm from the video playing on the TV. Shao Chengze had his arm around her, eyes fixed on the TV, as if trying to reclaim all the lost time through the screen.

Cheng LiQi's eyes shone even brighter. She climbed up dad's arm, "Dad, I haven't heard you play the piano before."

Shao Chengze stroked the hair that had fallen by her little ear back behind it. "How about next time? It's too late today. You still have to take a bath, or you'll become a lazy little pig who gets her butt tanned by the sun tomorrow morning."

Cheng LiQi giggled twice. She had lazed in bed many times not wanting to get up and slept until the sun tanned her butt.

"Then next time dad will play for me and mom to hear."

"Mm," Shao Chengze thought of what he saw at the kindergarten gate this morning. He held out his left pinky, "Dad pinky swears with you."

Putting medicine on works too. When grandpa hurt his finger, grandma would also put medicine on for him.

"Okay, I'll go find pajamas. Mom puts medicine on dad's finger." Cheng LiQi felt she had accomplished something big. She left the living room for mom and dad to apply medicine and hurried off to the walk-in closet to find pajamas. She figured she should take more time today choosing what pajamas to wear since she had so many pairs and was torn between wearing this pair or that pair.

Cheng Jinlan took out a tube of medicine from the medicine box and threw it to him to apply himself, then picked up her phone from the sofa and called her mom to confirm they were home.

After hanging up, she was about to chase him out.
