Chapter 1 – Part 1 out of 2

Tong City First Hospital.

General Surgery, the fifth floor of the Inpatient Department.

Jiang Tao had just completed the admission procedures for the last patient in the morning and was about to eat a boxed lunch in the lounge when the guard on duty outside the gate suddenly contacted her: “Xiao Tao, a patient who was discharged last Friday came to see you. His name is Zhang Yang.”

Even though only a weekend had passed, Jiang Tao still had an impression of Zhang Yang, a tall and strong male patient who was hospitalized for cholecystitis surgery.

In the eyes of doctors and nurses, all patients were the same. The only difference was that each patient had their own personality and temperament, and therefore, the experience of dealing with them varied.

Zhang Yang was a bit frivolous and always liked to make small jokes about Jiang Tao, which was what his colleagues called “frivolous.”

Jiang Tao didn’t like this kind of teasing at all, but she had been in charge of Zhang Yang for seven days. Even if there was only a small probability that Zhang Yang came to her because of physical problems, she still needed to meet him.

Outside the glass door of the ward, Zhang Yang leaned against the corridor wall on one side, tilted his head, and soon saw Jiang Tao.

She wore a nurse’s uniform and a white nurse’s cap.

It was hard to stand out in such a dress among a group of nurses, but if these nurses stand in a row, then everyone will notice Jiang Tao at first sight.

Her skin was very fair, her almond eyes were dark and moist, and the corners of her eyes were slightly raised.

""

Her nose was small and round, and a little baby fat on her cheeks made her look very cute.

During the few days in the hospital, Zhang Yang had many opportunities to observe Jiang Tao up close, and then he found that this little nurse was sweet at first glance, and became more and more beautiful the more he watched.

What Zhang Yang liked the most were her lips, which were pink and tender like ripe peaches, tempting people to kiss.

The glass door opened, and Jiang Tao came out.

“I haven’t seen you in two days; do you miss me?” Zhang Yang stood up straight and smiled at her.

The guard on duty looked at him with strange eyes.

Jiang Tao’s face turned slightly cold, and she asked with her hand on Zhang Yang’s chest, “Are you okay? I’m very busy.”

Zhang Yang stretched out his hand that had been placed behind his back, carrying a takeaway milk tea: “I don’t know if you have eaten it, but I bought you milk tea.”

Jiang Tao frowned: “No need; I’m leaving if you have nothing else to say.”

She turned to leave, but Zhang Yang stepped over in front of her in two steps. His tall and powerful body came to a halt in front of the glass door, holding the milk tea in one hand and his phone in the other, opening WeChat: “You don’t need the milk tea, but let’s be friends. Add me now.”

Jiang Tao stepped back: “It doesn’t matter to me whether you go or not, but if you continue to hinder me from going to work, I can call the hospital security to deal with you.”

Zhang Yang smiled: “Then you should call them.”

Jiang Tao stopped looking at him, walked to the guard desk, took out her mobile phone, found the number of the security room in her notes, and dialed without hesitation.

Zhang Yang had very good eyesight and noticed that the little nurse was not afraid of trouble, so she called security. A bucket of cold water completely dampened his interest. He had come to bully the timid and honest nurse, half to trick her into dating him, but he didn’t expect her to be a tough nut to crack.

In modern society, Zhang Yang still did not dare to break the law. He sneered at Jiang Tao, who was still explaining the situation to the security guard, then threw his milk tea into the trash can and walked away without looking back.

Jiang Tao watched him leave and told the security guard not to let him in again. The duty officer praised her while sorting out the documents: “Well done; that’s how it should be. Who dares come to the hospital to play games like this? Go ahead.”

As she turned around, Jiang Tao saw Wang Haiyan, the head nurse, standing opposite the glass door with a serious expression.

She did not know how long Wang Haiyan had been watching. “Are you going out?” Jiang Tao asked nervously, pushing open the glass door. Wang Haiyan scanned the little nurse’s worried expression and said, “Don’t go out, there seems to be a dispute on your side. Come and have a look.”

Jiang Tao quickly explained: “I have nothing to do with him. He wanted to add me as a friend when he was in the hospital. I never added him. I didn’t expect him to come over again for that.”

There may be patients or accompanying family members in the corridor at any time, so Wang Haiyan took Jiang Tao out of the lounge.

There was no one in the lounge, and there was a lonely lunch box on the table.

Wang Haiyan gently pushed Jiang Tao’s shoulder and said, “Go eat first, don’t be hungry.”

The kind tone relieved Jiang Tao’s tension, and she pulled out a chair for the head nurse to sit on. She then went to wash her hands carefully before sitting across the table and opening the lunch box.

Before eating, Jiang Tao gave the head nurse a questioning look. Wang Haiyan smiled and said, “Don’t be afraid. You handled it well just now. I came to talk to you about something else.”

Jiang Tao blinked and asked, “What is it?”
