Lu Feichi didn’t expect Su Lu to ask that question. It seemed like she didn’t want Bo Jingshen to know, as if she was trying to hide it.

Lu Feichi didn’t answer directly, instead, he asked, “Why do you ask?”

Su Lu smiled helplessly and shook her head, “It’s nothing. I just feel that he doesn’t need to know.”

Bo Jingshen held resentment towards her for what happened in the past.

Su Lu had also been conflicted, but regardless, the damage had already been done.

It was better for him to resent her than to have regrets.

What happened back then wasn’t Bo Jingshen’s fault.

So, no matter what, Su Lu didn’t want Bo Jingshen to feel regret.

She was the one in the wrong. He didn’t do anything wrong back then, so why should he regret it?

“Get in the car. Why are you hesitating?”

A luxury car stopped in front of them. Bo Jingshen tilted his head, looking at her from the driver’s seat, thinking she might be a little tipsy again.

He sighed lightly, “Forget it. With your alcohol tolerance, who are you helping to drink?”

As he spoke, he opened the door, got out of the car, and walked over to the passenger side, opening the door for her, “Get in.”

Su Lu wasn’t drunk. She sat in the passenger seat and turned to bid farewell to Lu Feichi.

Lu Feichi nodded and patted Bo Jingshen’s shoulder, “Keep in touch.”

“Yeah. See you later.” Bo Jingshen patted his shoulder and waved at the crowd. He turned around and walked back to the driver’s seat, driving away.

Back at the hotel, Su Lu went to the bathroom to take a shower.

When she came out, Bo Jingshen was sitting behind the desk. A sleek silver laptop with a metallic finish was placed on the table. He wore a pair of slim-framed anti-blue light glasses, exuding a composed and intelligent aura.

Upon hearing Su Lu come out, he raised his gaze from behind the lenses and looked at her.

“There’s a hangover soup on the table in the living room. Drink it and then go to sleep.”

“Oh… okay,” Su Lu agreed. After a moment’s thought, she couldn’t help but ask, “And you?”

After saying this, she noticed a slight raise of Bo Jingshen’s eyebrows.

She bit her lip, realizing she shouldn’t have asked. Since they were living together, their conversations seemed to carry an unintended undertone. But she truly didn’t have any hidden intentions.

Fortunately, Bo Jingshen merely playfully raised his eyebrows without making any teasing remarks.

He simply said, “I have a video conference with the headquarters. After you finish the soup, rest early. Tomorrow, you need to go to the hospital for treatment.”

Considering the time difference, it was indeed the right time for him to have a meeting with Bosheng’s overseas headquarters.

Su Lu nodded, but upon seeing him raise his hand to massage his temples wearily, she couldn’t help but feel that he was pushing himself too hard.

On the table in the living room, there was a small clay pot emitting steam. It must have been brought by room service.

Inside was a warm and comforting dried polka fish and bean sprout soup.

Su Lu drank slowly and sat in the living room. She could see the man sitting behind the desk in the inner room.

The video conference should have already started. Bo Jingshen had a Bluetooth headset on his ear. He looked at the screen calmly and would scroll through the contents of the document from time to time.

Occasionally, he would speak softly, concisely conveying his thoughts. His deep voice sounded pleasant when he spoke in English.

The video conference had been going on for three hours.

“Alright, let’s end it here for today.” Bo Jingshen said in a low voice, “We’ll discuss the issues mentioned earlier in detail during the next meeting.”

After the video conference ended, Bo Jingshen took off his glasses and rubbed his nose bridge.

Suddenly, he froze.

There was no one on the large bed directly in front of his desk. The woman who should have been sleeping peacefully like a pig was nowhere to be seen.

Where was Su Little Lu?

Bo Jingshen stood up and walked into the living room.

There, he saw a woman lying on the long sofa, sleeping soundly like a pig.

The small clay pot on the coffee table had long lost its warmth, and most of the soup had been consumed.

Her breathing was steady and tranquil, her sleeping face blushing.

She placed one hand on her chest and pressed the notepad clip provided by the hotel against her chest. Her other hand fell from the sofa to the floor, and the pencil that had been held between her fingers had fallen onto the carpet next to her.

Bo Jingshen walked forward and picked up the pencil from the floor and placed it on the coffee table. Then, he gently took the notepad clip that she had pressed on her chest and was about to place it on the coffee table.

His gaze suddenly stopped.

On the plain notepad with the hotel’s logo. There was a detailed sketch of a person drawn with a pencil.

It depicted a man sitting behind a desk, looking down at a computer screen, capturing every minute detail.

It was him.

The sketch was incredibly lifelike, even capturing the nuances of his gaze and expressions, the calmness, the seriousness, and the slight impatience.

Bo Jingshen’s gaze remained fixed on the drawing for a moment.

Then, his eyes shifted to the woman sleeping soundly.

Had too much time passed? Or had his complex emotions for her over the years caused him to almost forget, he had almost forgotten that the woman he once loved the most was a quiet person who enjoyed drawing. She was a talented student at the University of Arts, where she breathed life into her artwork.

But it seemed that she had strayed further and further away from the life she had once envisioned. Instead of holding a paintbrush, she now wandered through the banquets and business world…

Was this the price of growing up? Growing up wasn’t good at all, was it?

Bo Jingshen bent down, effortlessly picking her up, and returned to the room.

When Su Lu woke up, it was early the next morning. Su Lu didn’t know how she had ended up back in bed. She had fallen asleep on the sofa.

Because she had slept well, she happily rolled around on the big bed.

Then, she opened her groggy eyes and saw the silhouette of a man standing by the window, speaking softly on the phone.

He was not holding his phone, but the landline receiver on the desk by the window.

“No need to let her come up. Yes, if she likes to wait, let her wait,” Bo Jingshen’s voice was deep, and there was a hint of coldness in his tone.

Su Lu hadn’t yet grasped the meaning of his words or who he was referring to.

Bo Jingshen ended the call and turned his gaze towards her.

He stood against the light, holding a coffee cup in one hand, and the collar of his deep blue bathrobe revealed a glimpse of his chest.

He was unbelievably handsome.

“What’s wrong?” Su Lu regained her senses and asked.

“It’s nothing, go back to sleep for a while if you’re not fully awake,” Bo Jingshen said as he observed her sleepy appearance.

Su Lu shook her head. “I won’t go back to sleep.”

Bo Jingshen nodded. “Alright then, get up. Let’s go downstairs for breakfast.”

He picked up his mobile phone from the table and made a call.

After a while, someone finally answered the call.

From this distance, Su Lu could almost hear Jiang Li’s plaintive wailing.

It was the wailing of someone whose peaceful dream had been disrupted.

Jiang Li said, “Ahh! Bo Jingshen, you heartless person!”

Bo Jingshen questioned, “Didn’t you say you wanted to stay at my place? Where are you right now?”

Jiang Li pleaded, “Please spare me! Can’t you wait until I wake up?”

Bo Jingshen said, “I’ve prepared the room for you. Hurry up and come over.”

Jiang Li skeptically asked, “What’s your true intention behind all this care and attention?”

Bo Jingshen responded, “Didn’t you claim that you were ready to sacrifice everything for me? Well, now I need your assistance. Come over and take care of the person downstairs.”

Jiang Li inquired, “Who is it exactly?”

Bo Jingshen revealed, “It appears to be someone named Su Jiao.”

Su Lu blinked, and her expression instantly changed.
