Old Zou was busy cooking and didn’t notice.

On the other hand, Su Lu carried the dishes out. Bo Jingshen, who had been sitting on the sofa and looking at his phone, quickly noticed.

“What happened to your hand?” Bo Jingshen’s sharp gaze landed on her finger.

Only then did Old Zou react. “What happened to Little Su’s hand? Did you injure yourself just now?”

Su Lu couldn’t hide it either. “I pricked myself just now, but it’s not serious.”

“Ah, being pricked by seafood like this should be taken seriously. It’s easy to get an infection,” Old Zou said.

Bo Jingshen got up from the sofa. “Old Zou, do you have a first-aid kit?”

“Yes, yes, it’s under the TV cabinet. Go get it yourself and help her with the wound. I’ll bring the dishes out.”

Bo Jingshen quickly found a small plastic first-aid kit under the TV cabinet. It contained all the necessary items, including disinfectants and bandaging materials.

“I’ll do it myself. Go and help Teacher Zou with the dishes.”

Su Lu reached out to take the first-aid kit, but Bo Jingshen held her finger firmly.

It wasn’t a strong grip, but it made it difficult for her to break free. She was pulled towards him.

Bo Jingshen furrowed his brows slightly. “Sit down.”

Su Lu hesitated for a moment. As a former renowned reaper, she had to give some face to this tempting grass. So, she obediently sat down.

She let the man furrow his brows and gaze at the wound on her fingertip.

It wasn’t a serious injury, but his serious expression made Su Lu feel a pang of warmth in her heart.

She coughed lightly. “President Bo, if you don’t hurry, it will heal by itself.”

Bo Jingshen glanced at her and quickly disinfected and bandaged her finger.

Old Zou brought the dishes out. “Is it all wrapped up? Come and have a meal.”

The old man was quite happy. He preferred having his outstanding disciple come over to enjoy the meal with him, rather than cooking and eating alone.

“Old Zou, your skills haven’t changed a bit,” Bo Jingshen smiled and spoke.

Old Zou was very pleased and asked eagerly, “Right? I may be old, but my cooking skills are still intact, aren’t they?”

Then, he made a toasting gesture. “Would you like some? We haven’t had a good drink together in a long time, have we?”

It was more than just a long time since they had a good drink together. They had never really had one before. Previously, it wasn’t that Bo Jingshen didn’t want to drink, but Old Zou didn’t agree. He was always worried that alcohol would impair the mind of his outstanding disciple.

“I can drink, but you can’t,” Bo Jingshen said.

“Hey, what’s the matter? Are you looking down on me?”

Bo Jingshen gestured towards the coffee table with his chin. “I noticed the medicine bottle under your coffee table. When you’re not in good health, why drink? Just watch me drink and satisfy the craving.”

Su Lu wasn’t surprised that Bo Jingshen noticed. He was always attentive. Moreover, he came to visit Old Zou on the same day after learning from their old classmate that Old Zou had been in poor health recently.

Old Zou felt a little embarrassed. “Hey, I just… I’m getting old and have some geriatric diseases.”

Bo Jingshen said, “You and Su Little Lu can have some juice.”

So, it turned into Su Lu and Old Zou drinking juice, while Bo Jingshen held a bottle of wine and drank by himself, enjoying himself.

He didn’t usually indulge in drinking like this. Even at social events, there were rare occasions where President Bo would consume more than a few sips. Usually, someone else would take care of it, and touch his lips casually.

But now, he was drinking in a relaxed manner. It wasn’t even good wine, just some local rice wine that Old Zou had somehow obtained. It had a rich flavor and went down smoothly. He slowly sipped one glass after another while chatting with Old Zou.

They talked about everything, from their entrepreneurial experiences abroad to their current plans of returning to China for further development.

Su Lu listened quietly, trying hard to piece together these fragments to form an image of the five years she had missed with him.

Old Zou gave him some advice. “I know you don’t like attending class reunions and such, but there are still a few talented individuals among your classmates. After all, I was the one who guided all of you. If you were still developing abroad, it would be understandable, but now that you’ve returned to the country, there are many places where you can use these talents.”

Of course, Bo Jingshen wouldn’t reject his mentor’s suggestion. Although he wasn’t particularly interested in class reunions, he agreed to Old Zou’s request and decided to attend the reunion the next day.

When they were about to leave, Old Zou wanted to give them some things to take away, but Bo Jingshen politely declined.

“You can keep them for yourself. After all, I’m your proud disciple. Do you think I could lack these things?”

Old Zou laughed at his words and nodded toward Su Lu. “Reaper, thank you for your hard work. I think he’s had a bit too much to drink.”

“Nonsense,” Bo Jingshen scoffed, pursing his lips. “I drank foreign liquor with those foreigners, whiskey, vodka, tequila, you name it. Did I drink too much? That’s nonexistent.”

Old Zou sighed, “Then you don’t know the power of Chinese homemade rice wine. Alright, Little Su, you two should hurry back.”

Su Lu had initially thought that Bo Jingshen would be fine. After all, during their time at Yunding, they had both downed three shots of whiskey simultaneously. She had ended up vomiting and feeling like death, but he had acted as if nothing had happened. He had even come to the restroom to block her and pressed her into the cubicle to do something to her.

He wouldn’t get drunk from such a small amount of wine.

However, it was clear that Su Lu had underestimated the lingering effects of Chinese homemade rice wine.

After getting into the car, Bo Jingshen sat in the front passenger seat and rolled down the window to let in some fresh air.

As she drove away from the University of Science and Technology, before they could even leave the university town, Bo Jingshen had already turned into a limp fish hanging on the car window. Su Lu found it amusing to watch.

“Bo Jingshen, did you drink too much?” Su Lu asked as she stopped at a red light.

She saw the man in the passenger seat suddenly sit up straight, but he moved so quickly that he accidentally bumped his head on the window frame. However, he seemed unaware of it. After straightening himself, his speech was clear, unnaturally so, almost as if he were deliberately enunciating.

“Drive your car, I’m fine,” Bo Jingshen said.

Su Lu looked at his slightly dazed eyes, lacking the usual depth and sharpness, instead appearing somewhat innocent and harmless.

She felt a mix of amusement and concern.

Perhaps he had been like this for the past five years. In places where she could not see, in business, in social gatherings, even if he drank too much, he had to pretend to be sober.

“Alright, do you need to vomit?” Su Lu’s voice softened.

Bo Jingshen honestly shook his head. “Not really.”

After answering, he paused for a few seconds, belatedly realizing that something was wrong. He furrowed his brow and said, “I didn’t drink too much. Why would I vomit? Just drive.”

Su Lu murmured an acknowledgment. After leaving the university town, instead of heading towards the hotel, she made a mid-route turn towards the coastal road.

Bo Jingshen remained completely oblivious to the incorrect route. Within a matter of minutes, his body, which had managed to sit up straight, once again turned into a limp fish hanging on the car window, swaying in the sea breeze…
