Su Lu had been trapped at the construction site since last night. She had been in a coma because of a fever and only woke up this morning.

After sleeping for quite some time, she wasn’t sleepy. She filled the bathtub with hot water to relieve her fatigue.

When she came out of the bathroom, she felt much more refreshed.

As she dried her hair, she walked to the table and prepared to change into the clothes she had just bought.

However, her gaze fell on the paperweight on the table that had the hotel logo printed on it… An invitation letter?

The color of the invitation letter was aurora blue with a laser effect, which gave off a technological feel.

Huaxia region’s new smart technology exhibition.

“When… Was it put here?” Su Lu opened it and took a look.

This was an internal invitation to the technology exhibition. Not only could she enter the exhibition hall, but she could also enter the conference hall to watch the speech.

The speeches in the conference hall were all powerful figures in various fields. The nature was similar to the TED conference. Not everyone was qualified to enter the conference hall to watch the speech.

Su Lu blinked, but she couldn’t help but pick up the landline receiver on the table and called the front desk.

“Hello, this is the front desk. How can I help you?”

“Hello, I’m a guest in room 2017. I’d like to ask, today… Or did someone enter my room yesterday?”

Upon hearing this, the receptionist immediately became serious and sincere. “2017… Miss Su, right?”

“Yes.”

“Did you lose something?” The sound of typing could be heard from the front desk. “After investigation, only the cleaner entered your room to do daily cleaning.”

“Oh… Like this.” Su Lu pondered for a moment. “Then can I trouble the cleaner to come over? I have something to ask.”

The receptionist immediately agreed.

After a while, someone knocked on the door.

The cleaning lady was trembling with fear. She was afraid that the guest had lost something and wanted to cause trouble for her.

However, the gentle smile on Su Lu’s face was relaxing. The cleaning lady heaved a sigh of relief.

“I’m sorry to trouble you to come here. Please don’t be nervous. I just wanted to ask…”

Su Lu picked up the invitation letter from the table. “Who put this in my room? Do you know when it was placed there?”

The cleaning lady quickly said, “I know, I know!”

“It was not even ten o’clock yesterday morning. You went out, so I came to clean up. The gentleman who lived opposite you happened to be out and asked me if you had checked out. I said I was just cleaning up, so he told me to put this on your desk.”

“You guys moved in together, right? I thought it wouldn’t be a problem, so I put the things on your table. It was… Is there something wrong with this thing?”

After Su Lu heard the cleaner’s words, she blinked her eyes and smiled lightly. She shook her head and said, “No, there’s no problem. Thank you.”

She took out a few bills from her wallet and handed them over as a tip. The cleaning lady took them and left with gratitude.

At lunchtime, there was a knock on the door.

The dining cart from room service was pushed into her room.

Su Lu hadn’t ordered room service, so she already had an answer in her mind as to who had ordered it.

The waiter brought out a plate covered with a stainless-steel lid and arranged the dishes on the table one by one. As the waiter did so, he said, “Mr. Bo from room 2018 ordered this for you. I wish you a pleasant meal.”

After the waiter left, he gently closed the door.

Su Lu sat in front of a table filled with delicious food and suddenly felt an impulse to knock on the door and invite him to eat together.

She stood up but then sat back down.

She silently started eating.

After peacefully enjoying her lunch, Su Lu checked the time and got up, heading out and knocking on the door of the suite across from hers.

However, the door was tightly shut, and there was no sound inside.

Su Lu raised her hand, preparing to knock again, but before she could, she heard the sound of the elevator doors opening not far away.

“Miss Su!” Little Qiu saw her and quickly came over.

“Who are you…?” Su Lu didn’t recognize the young man in front of her.

“My surname is Qiu, and I’m President Bo’s temporary assistant in Hai City. Nice to meet you,” Assistant Qiu introduced himself.

“Ah, hello,” Su Lu nodded.

Assistant Qiu said, “President Bo asked me to come and pick you up. The weather outside is still not very good, so it’s better if you don’t drive by yourself.”

“What about Bo Jingshen?” Su Lu asked.

Assistant Qiu didn’t go into details, he simply mentioned, “President Bo had some urgent matters, so… Don’t worry, you’ll meet President Bo at the exhibition.”

Su Lu didn’t ask further questions. Throughout the journey to the exhibition, it remained quiet.

The driver drove steadily, while Assistant Qiu sat in the front passenger seat. His phone vibrated in his pocket, and he glanced at the message before pausing and turning to look at Su Lu.

He asked, “Did you enjoy your lunch, Miss Su?”

Su Lu didn’t understand why he suddenly asked that, but she still politely replied, “I was very satisfied. Thank you.”

“That’s good.” Assistant Qiu turned to his phone and composed a message saying, “Miss Su said she was very satisfied with lunch. Thank you.” and sent it out.

The recipient was none other than President Bo.

In the revolving Ocean View Restaurant in Hai City, a handsome man sat in an expensive window seat. He was casually looking at the rainy coastal road and sea outside the window.

Jiang Li, sitting opposite him, had his face blocked by a basin-sized king crab on the table.

Jiang Li didn’t get a response from him for a long time. He had no choice but to stretch his neck and look over. “Bo Jingshen, are you even listening to me?”

Bo Jingshen lifted his eyelids and glanced at him. “Obviously not.”

“You! Sigh… I really can’t believe it. I kindly brought you here to enjoy delicious food.”

Bo Jingshen replied indifferently, “Eighty percent of the dishes on the table are things I can’t eat. Are you even considerate?”

Jiang Li smiled awkwardly.

Zhuang Cainan sat nearby and put a spoonful of deboned fish meat in Bo Jingshen’s plate. Her clear and decisive voice carried a hint of subtle tenderness. “Jingshen, eat this.”

Then she turned to Jiang Li and said, “Ah Li, since we came out to eat, let’s not discuss business for now.”

Jiang Li exclaimed, “You’re not in a hurry. It’s killing me…”

When Jiang Li looked at Bo Jingshen, he noticed that the man who had been nonchalantly gazing out the window was now looking at his phone screen after it vibrated.

And then, a faint smile gradually appeared in his typically aloof and cold eyes.

Although it was a faint smile, it stood out because those eyes had always been so indifferent and icy. So even a slight hint of warmth in the smile became quite noticeable.

Zhuang Cainan also noticed it.

“Let’s go. We’re heading to the exhibition hall.” Bo Jingshen stood up, and he hadn’t touched the spoonful of fish Zhuang Cainan placed on his plate.

Zhuang Cainan’s expression dimmed, and her fingers involuntarily clenched.

She had been working by Bo Jingshen’s side for five years, and it was the first time she felt such a sense of crisis.
